From the time I walked in the door to check-in it was a pleasant experience. The therapists I worked with were helpful and knowledgeable. After having neck pain for years causing migraines and headaches daily I left each time feeling better than when I walked in. There is always someone to help if you need it. I have unfortunately been in need of physical therapy multiple times over the years but am so thankful to have found Healy Physical Therapy. I refuse to go anywhere else. Dr Healy and the PT staff are incredibly patient and attentive. Each session I have, I always see a PT for treatment and review of homework. The aides are knowledgeable in teaching patients how to do exercises and continually check to be sure they are available to answer questions. What's better is if they aren't sure they go get an answer from more experienced staff rather than guess or just to say "I don't know". The front desk is warm and welcoming and I find they bend over backwards to help me schedule around my work needs. This physical therapy office has been well established in the East Providence area for well over a decade. The office is quite spacious and modern. It's equipped with both private treatment rooms and a main exercise area with various treatment tables and exercise stations with various equipment. The space also includes a waiting room, private rest rooms, and ample parking. The PTs,PTAs, and exercise aides are professional,prompt, and knowledgeable. sessions last just under an hour with minimal to wait times. I was referred to Healy PT for their specialty in specific conditions, and was told that they would not only help me with my injuries, but would help teach me how to help prevent and treat future injuries myself. This is just a small part of the whole that is Healy PT. When I started PT here, I was skeptical, given experiences at physical therapy offices in other cities and other states. I usually felt like a number, hurriedly moved through exercises by uncaring jocks or over-worked doctors, and left in more or less the state in which I arrived. At Healy PT, I can say with complete sincerity that this is one of the best medical experiences I've ever received. Dr Healy treats me with respect, kindness, and understanding, and his compassionate demeanor makes me feel like his third daughter, instead of just one of his patients. I was impressed to have direct service from the president and founder, himself, and I never have felt rushed or ignored when I am there trying to improve. The techs are pretty good, and they have training on many modalities including sports medicine, cupping, taping, and rehabilitation. With an experience this good however, you can imagine how hard it could be to get an appointment that fits your schedule, but truly anything you can get is worth your time and effort. I wish that every pt provider was required to shadow Dr Healy, because perhaps his gently paternal energy and focus on the patient mentality could be a tactic more doctors provided to their patients. In just one month of pt here, I improved over 11% on my injuries, which is also great because they back up their work with statistics and quantifiable measures. I am, and Healy Physical Therapy has (literally!) helped me keep my head on straight. They know EDS, craniocervical instability, atlantoaxial instability, Chiari and everything else in the "zebra" universe inside and out. They even have experience with transverse myelitis, an added quirk of my situation. Mike and Jacqui are geniuses -- not an overstatement. Love these guys! Bill got me from barely being able to stand without falling over post spinal fusion surgery, to rock climbing again 5 months later. All the staff is great, they listen, and really push you to succeed. The front desk ladies remember your name even after a few months off which is nice, and even the other patients are friendly. They even gave me a hand strengthener to use while doing core work on the ball because they knew I'd want to keep that strength from rock climbing for when I was able to do it again. :-) Not that I plan to injure myself again soon, but if I do, I will be back. I switched here after a less than stellar experience at another place, and I really enjoyed the short time I used Healy PT for my shoulder pain. I was assigned to Anna and Lincoln and both of them were super friendly and easy to work with. The receptionists were always great as well, it was never hard to reschedule appointments, and they call you the day prior to confirm your next day's appointment which I always appreciated. If you live in the area and need somewhere to go for PT, you should really check this place out. Not much else to say! read more

when your there, the service is very good, from my therapist martha to the support staff, all provided excellent quality care. however under their biz model, the game is to keep you coming as many times as your insurance pays or you can pay. with my particular problem, there was never a strong emphasis on doing homework to help me heal faster. neither was there any suggestions on what kind of footwear i should purchase. Also there is an emphasis on getting service supplied to you by lower paid aides, thus increasing profits. I left went to see a DPM, got the right shoes, and my problem was resolved in a week In summary, excellent quality care, as long as you understand their biz model, and do you homework , you should be ok read more

Michael Healy is the first therapist I have seen who within the span of one assessment, understood the complexity of the multi-levels of dysfunction in my body, and knew exactly how to address those issues. He has consistently offered unparalleled expert manual physical therapy techniques, isolmetric excercises designed for my specific areas of concern, muscle energy, and other therapeutic techniques. I often arrive to an appointment feeling like I've been in a car wreck, and after treatment, invariably leave feeling worlds better, with greater ability to function, increased range of motion, and significantly reduced pain. The entire staff is phenomenal. Courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The facility is impeccably clean and well cared for. Dismal billing practices and accountability. went on a long vacation for the holidays, was told that I could just call them after I returned to schedule my next appointment. When I did so, I was told that it was outside the 30 days and my account had been put on hold and I would need another referral from my doctor. No one had mentioned to me before I went on vacation that I only had 30 days to make another appointment or I would be forced to start over and incur the initial fees. Once I got that, they had lost the first one. And so I had to get a second one. Once I had that, and had scheduled an appointment, I was told that I would be expected to pay another 150 dollar evaluation fee (instead of the $75 it should be) because it was technically going to be a brand new treatment. All of this on a technicality. They refuse to waive that fee, attempting to cite multiple BS legal reasons before finally saying that they just won't do it because it's their own policy. This isn't a company that cares about it's customers enough to admit when they made a mistake and then do what they can to remedy those mistakes. They would rather pass the costs of those mistakes to their customers. Stay away. read more
