This place is the perfect stop if you want to throw it up later. First of all, the "Queso" is basically Velveeta cheese with a couple of things added. NO FLAVOR, not even nacho cheese flavor. It had the consistency of your first child's poop. I ordered chimichangas and what to my surprise they weren't even fried. And, the best part? They were covered in the baby poop "Queso." Now, I am sitting on my toilet hoping to not barf and have Montezuma's revenge at the same time. The beans were close to gray and tasted about as good as it sounds. So, if you like to see your food after you've partially digested it, or, you have a very friendly relationship with your toilet, then by all means enjoy! The staff is very friendly and it's truly authentic Mexican... it's a little north of Denton so not a bad drive right off the freeway and everything is so good and so fresh. I've had the crispy tacos which I'm obsessed with now but they have some of the best enchiladas I've had in Texas. They also make some great frozen alcohol drinks that are very tasty. The inside is very cool with a clean Texas style atmosphere which I really enjoy. The place is really big so it would be great for large groups and family get togethers. Keep up the great work guys. Let's start by saying that I visited twice in the past 30 days and I don't know what the food was like before that. Chips and salsa were great, standard but good. On my first visit I ordered the Pork Chile Verde in a bowl w/ rice and beans and garnished with a small salad. The menu says that it's pork chunks braised in a rich tomatillo sauce or verde not sure but what I received was a vary thin pork chop cooked and sliced into strips and floated on the green sauce, don't get me wrong the sauce was bomb but the strips of pork had me baffled, this is not a hard dish to produce. So sauce good pork meh, beans were canned, again this is an easy item to cook but nope, rice was ok and not so fresh tortillas, they need to make fresh tortillas and up their game. Second trip this weekend had a friend come from out of town and he wanted Mexican so I decided to give it another try cause I figured they might of just ran out of pork chunks or something, I was wrong and my buddy was very disappointed with the food and service, we ordered 2 different pork dishes he had the pork adobada and I ordered the pork with cactus (Nopalitos) and when the food arrived we knew something was up, again chips and salsa were good in fact my friend tore it up, but our pork dishes were not what I expected they were exactly the same only mine had cactus in it, the best way to explain it is, .....f$$king spicy cream of tomato soup with chopped up pork chop and the only difference was the cactus! Oh and sub par flour tortillas. All I was missing was a grilled cheese sandwich very disappointing. This was a very sad day for the culinary world in which I been in for 25+ years. I'm so happy this was right off the highway, as we are from out of town and really were craving Mexican food. The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! The service was excellent and fast. Picture of the food, in review The bad part-- We got here and were greeted very rudely by the hostess, an elderly woman with a plaid shirt and a colorful headband. She did not smile, did not even SPEAK to us besides "follow me", and did not even offer for us to sit on the patio which we actually would've preferred since it's so nice out. She then continued to glare at us as were eating when she walked by, and glared at us the entire time we left the restaurant and we almost did not go in here and eat because of it. If you're working in the food service industry you might want to at least fake it because people don't want to get off the road for hours and come here and be treated like that. This would have been perfect review if it hadn't been for that dreadful woman hosting. We eat at Mig's at least twice a month. The food is consistent as is the service. I'm here posting because my hubby and I are recovering from COVID, but we wanted our Mig's fix. So, I placed an order over the phone for him to pick up yesterday evening. We ordered what is one of our very usual orders. Beef fajitas for him and Carne Guisada for me. The fajitas were not nearly as good as when we dine in, but my biggest complaint is that we were not provided any chips & salsa. I fail to understand how this is optional. When we sit in the restaurant, the chips and salsa are bottomless. Meanwhile, we are taking up a table, using a server, etc. Ordering to go, we are basically increasing the profit margin by not sitting and taking up space inside the restaurant. Why would chips and salsa not be complimentary? Usually, the salsa is part of the meal (used on fajitas, rice, beans). This is an important part of the experience in my opinion. So, $30 for 2 meals, zero chips and salsa. I think this is something Mig's can improve upon. read more

By far my absolute favorite Tex-Mex restaurant in the world and I have been coming here and their Krum location, for years (though I live an hour away, it's always been worth the drive). The quality of their food is nothing short of superb and though we can get a new server in training every once in a blue moon, our service has always been great! They have some amazing fresh homemade tortillas - so I usually always try to get a dish that incorporates them somehow such as their quesadillas or fajitas! They also make their salsa from scratch, which if you've ever done this you know that the spice level will vary from visit to visit, but the flavor of it is phenomenal and I usually scarf through 5-6 bowls of this stuff between the chips beforehand and pouring the rest of my entree. And while we're on the trend of everything from scratch, did someone say GUACAMOLE?! The only thing I wish Miguelito's did was table side guacamole bc I just can't get enough, but until then I'll have to suffice with a few scoops every visit. I'm not sure if it's a regular/scheduled thing, but I have been here on a few occasions (on the weekend) where they had a live band in their outdoor seating area, which when the weather is great outside, who wouldn't want to be on a patio, sipping a margarita or cold beer, and listening to some live music?? But to summarize everything up: Their entrees come with hearty portions of made from scratch Tex-Mex that is top notch. They have a lot of seating options, but on a nice day I would definitely recommend sitting outside. & Service is always great! (Oh and they usually have a designated chips and salsa person, especially on busy nights, to make sure your bowls stay full!) Absolutely great service, after we were finally seated. When we walked in, we were not sure what to do, as no one greeted us. It was about 5 minutes before the waiter seated us. After that it was very nice. Clean place, mild decor very good margarita, the salsa could have a little less cilantro, and pass on the queso, seemed to be from a can. Anyway, the food was very fresh, rice and beans a little bland. My husband had the tilapia tacos, they came with a generous amount of avacado. I had the Pollo a la parilla, it came with rice and grilled vegetables. The vegetable medley was not overcooked. That was refreshing. Sopapilla's are excellent. To start I ask for salt and got salt packets, not what I'd expect from a brick and mortar. Ordered the Pablo pepper with shrimp and steak, Asked for the steak to be med rare got it med well and very chewy the poblano was not grilled or charred just baked the shrimp was over cooked with just some cheese melted over it. You really have to put things in perspective when you try this place. Its in the absolute middle of no where so you can't be expecting the pineapple basil mojito you get at the Latin Fusion place in downtown Dallas. We stopped here because its on the way to Winstar and we didn't feel like eating anything at the casino. Miguelitos is your standard tex mex place. They have a huge menu that offers all of the traditional favorites. The best part though is how cheap everything is. We ate a ton of food and were amazed at how low the bill was when it came. It would have easily been twice as much in the city. Bottom line is that Miguelitos offers a solid, cheap option in a desolate part of the state. Its not the best food you will ever eat but its good and gets the job done. read more

We stopped here on our way back home with a big dent in our wallets after a visit to Winstar, so we thought we'd sooth our wounds with some food and drink. Service - 5 stars Food - 3.5 stars Atmosphere - 3.5 stars Price - 4 stars Overall = 3.75 stars This restaurant is enormous; 3 separate dining rooms with booths and tables, and the place was packed @ noon on a Sunday. Nary an empty table by the time we departed. OH, also there is a nice covered patio on one side; there were even some brave folks sitting out there in 105 degree heat. We asked to be seated in the tiny bar area, which is adjacent to one of the dining rooms. After ordering our brews, BFF looked around and said "we must be in the iced tea room". Besides ours, not another alcoholic beverage to be seen.. Whoops, we're in with the church crowd! But hey, being from the big city, one does not do tex-mex without a brew or margarita. Suspect the bartender was very lonely on this day. Greeted promptly by our friendly server Ramon. He delivered excellent chips and salsa immediately. Ummm, loved those chips; wafer thin and warm, just needed some salt. The salsa was the perfect heat level for me (BFF likes the hot tongue scorching stuff!), with cilantro, chunky tomatoes and onions. Off to a great beginning to help dry the tears from our eyes over the $$$ left behind up North. Drinks served most quickly (hmmm, is that correct grammar?) and Ramon gave us time to review the extensive menu. The Tilapia Fish Tacos jumped off the page at me, and BFF chose his favorite, Chicken Quesadillas. Even thought the place was hopping busy, food order came out quite timely. My tacos were very yummy; 3 soft moist white corn tortillas with a large piece of the fish, perfectly grilled, flaky and tender. Accompanied by 3 large fat slices of beautiful Avocado and pico de gallo. Along side was an ample serving of refried beans and rice. Surprisingly, the beans and rice were good, actually better than I've had at most tex-mex spots. And...the price $8.99. Me thinks a great deal! I filled up quickly on just one of these beauties with a few bites of beans/rice. The rest traveled home. BFF stated his Quesadillas were good; I didn't taste them, so let's take him at his word. Service was amazingly good considering the crowd; this establishment must have the processes down to a fine science. My observation was that no table was ever left unattended, including ours. I'll give Mig's this. Those staffers must have the patience of Buddha to put up with me and my coworkers when we come in there (we're performance shop mechanics, so we are a little rowdy and loud and kind of have a "don't give a fuck" persona about us, but we're still nice people!) I used to love this place, it's very possible that it's just wearing me down because it's one of the few eating establishments in Sanger (where I work) that is actually around, so it gets really old really fast. The chips and salsa are good, but there is some kind of coating or something on the chips that makes the roof of my mouth feel kind of... I don't know... waxy? I especially notice it when I take a drink. It was worse with Sprite so now I drink Coke when I'm there, but I still notice it. I've been pretty spoiled by El Matador's chips and salsa in Denton though, so that doesn't help. The food is pretty good, I like the fajitas, but that's about it. I tried to branch out the other day and get quesadillas, it was basically fajitas already wrapped up for me BUT with melted cheese and sans peppers. That must be the secret! If you've never had it before, you'll very likely enjoy it more than I do now, but if I stay off of it for awhile I usually come back and enjoy it more. read more

Ordered rice, and chips and salsa for 50-60 people last weekend, for a wedding, and they charged me $135. I was mother of groom and didn't pick up the order or ask in advance, I figured how much can chips, salsa and rice cost, and was surprised. Great spacious establishment, very clean. Nice location easy to exit I35 and easy access back into I35 Courteous staff and prompt waitress. We were promptly seated as a party of 4 at 7pm. The complimentary chips was crisp and tasty and salsa was outstanding, we loved it. My family ordered from the combination menu which is priced fair $6.99 - $9.99. I got shrimp once and they forgot to peel them. I've been here about a dozen times and have yet to find the menu item that's my go-to. If you want Mexican that's nearby, this will do the trick. I have been to this restaurant several times for dinner and have had fair service and good food. Went for lunch yesterday and was disappointed. The server was nice but took a long time to get to us to place our order. The chips were burnt & we asked for a fresh basket of chips specifically requesting not burnt. The second basket was just as bad as the first. The food had no flavor. The only item that was good was the salsa but we could not enjoy it without chips. I'm hopeful that they were just under staffed for lunch. I'm not sure if I will try this location again. I may stick with the location in Krum. read more

This place has some great salsa and the chips seem to keep coming. I judge all Mexican restaurants by their salsas. And now the rest of the story... The food here is pretty good and there seems to be a lot of regulars. I really like the enchilada's and my wife says the Chimi's and taco's are the bomb "yes she still says bomb". I have been hear several times and have not had a bad experience yet. I know that there is also a restaurant in Krum, Denton and Chance D. rated one in Hurst. We concur with some of the other reviews. We were hungry travelers, not from this area and wanted some decent Mexican food. This was the worst Mexican food we have ever had. The cheese sauce was very weird, the rice had an odd taste, it was cold and generally not good. Unfortunately, I had ordered cheese enchiladas full of the unappetizing cheese. My husband barely touched his and he isn't fussy. We left about 75% of our meals uneaten (ate the chips) and stopped at a convenience store for snacks to get us through to dinner. According to an online source they started in Sanger, moved to Krum, and then built a new place in Sanger. The new place looks like an On The Border. It's pretty big and fairly shiny. The food was good. I hear that the Krum location is better than Sanger, but Sanger was pretty darned good. The tamale was super. It was very moist and porky. The taco meat--which is how I tend to ultimately decide whether a place is good or not--was very tasty. It was very similar to Herrera's tacos, which is my standard. The enchilada was okay and the cheese taco was tasteless. My Sangria Margarita was okay but over priced, and the waitress totally forgot to bring it to me prior to the meal. I will eat there again because I have close friends in Sanger, but I wouldn't make a special trip. There are too many great places in Dallas. read more
