Moi has now found the most adorable little Latin Market on the planet! "Miguel's Latin Market" is so freakin amazeballs, not only does it have the cutest, tiniest, most fabulous secret little Latin Breakfast/Lunch cafe & coffee shop in the very back of the store, their in house meat market sells "Churrasco Empacado." Yes, "Churrasco Empacado" AKA "outside skirt steak" or "packed steak." Me likes to also make kabobs with Churrasco Empacado on the BBQ yum yum yum yum yum :)... Miguel's is truly a Real gem. A Chef's market indeed. If you love to cook, you will love this little Latin market. Walking into Miguel's, first thing you notice is, the authentic vintage vibe, a pulse actually, kinda like walking into a time capsule, like a tiny little Cuban market from the 50's. It has a tiny produce section, a meat market and a secret little cafe in back with 2 tiny super adorable retro 50's style tables. And the whole building is like the size of a shoebox. haha. It's TINY, but MIGHTY. The market side is fabulous. They have the best selection of plantain chips, A whole section of "BADIA" spices, in sizes I have never even seen before. They also sell giant bags of rice & all kinds of kitchen utensils/tools/small appliances etc., Fresh baked cuban breads, fresh corn tortilla's, Honduran crema, mexican crema, Cojita cheese, Oaxaca cheese, NachoCheese Ole! hahaha. FYI: The little cafe in back is only open from 8am to 3pm & it serves up the most incredible cafe con leche & the coconut pastry is super yummy too OuiOui :)... While we were there Sir Hubbers had the beef empanada. It was very mild, kinda sweet, not spicy enough for us, but the dough was fabulous. We want to try the pizza one next visit. They were all sold out of the pizza one. They also have daily specials we want to try. However, while we were there we found a hot sauce called "Matouk's Calypso sauce" AKA "Salsa Calypso" and it's made with "PICKLED SCOTCH BONET PEPPERS" (from the label) it's the hottest hot sauce I have ever had in my life. So yeah, I put some on Sir Hubbers empanada for a kick, it blasted us to planet Zog. Truly Unforgettable. Miguel's, a truly uniquely unforgettable place that is a must visit. The store is clean and well stocked, and the people are friendly. The cafeteria is great -- the pastries are off the chain! We ordered a cooked Pork leg for Thanksgiving, and it was so good that we got another one for a picnic - this time large. The man serving the food behind the hot food had his mouth full of food. So much so that when he went to answer my question he almost spit it out. His attitude was so rude to me. I asked him in English if they had any soup. He's response after he spit his food into the garbage was, "no soup today." When I asked why he was begin so rude to me, he didn't answer. So I told that I am costumer like everyone else and their is no reason to be rude. So, before I left, I decided to take a good look at the food. FYI. I retired from the food service industry. In fact, I have my current food manager's license in Florida. First off, he was serving food without gloves, eating while serving, spit his food out before serving me. The looked old, dried out. Latin food options lined pretty much on every corner of the walls once you walk in. Walk in and sit at their small cafe where you can watch them prepare authentic Latin food. When I visit Florida, I always stop by for their cafe con leche con pan cubano which is always on point. read more

I had heard of this place from a friend. I speak really good Spanish and investigated. The clerk was a really nice Cuban girl. They have everything Spanish and then some. Lots of exotic fruits and veggies. I had a Papa Relleno that is mashed potatoes with seasoned meat in the middle. They are fried but oh so good!! They make Cubans and I will have to try one!!! I would have to agree that as a market it is fairly standard fair but it excells when you go to the back of the store and find the mini takeout part. They only do a couple of dishes each day but my god are they good. I have had the beef, chicken and the oxtail here - the oxtail stew with rice was tender, tasty and there was a ton of it. I have been going to this market for a few years now. Haven't had any real issues even though I don't speak Spanish, I always get what I needed. The owner is very nice and helpful and he understands what I say. Recently there has been some new young female employees in the food counter that makes you want to walk away. They all seemed mad when it's my turn. They ignore me but starts talking to the next customer who speaks Spanish. I can point to the food, I wait for my turn, but the rudeness is getting annoying. I know, I can take my business somewhere else, but it's a shame. I like the place, they have decent food and they have weird things that you don't find in Publix. I just wish they can treat non-spanish speaking customers the same as Spanish speaking ones. read more

I am so grateful to have a Spanish market in our county. We can get most if not all of the things that we need so far. Great prices, produce and meat butcher too. Carries a wide variety of Cuban, Spanish, Dominican. etc. Also has a lunch counter and they make VERY good food. Very inexpensive to stop in, less than $6 per person. They also carry a variety of cold drinks! The place could use a spring cleaning in the corners and crevices but other than that, good quality products. The staff is very nice and helpful. It helps tremendously if you speak Spanish or know a good friend that speaks Spanish so you can ask questions, etc. but they do speak some English and should be helpful to you. read more

A great butcher and deli selection with all of the usual Spanish style bodega. It's like popping into any store on the island. The restaurant in the back has some great food selection and it all smelled and tasted wonderful. I like the breakfast menu and am excited to try some of the frozen treats next visit. read more

Went in about three weeks ago to see what they offered. It was nice to see a Hispanic variety of different seasonings and food. A small hot food section with minimal selection. I found a Hispanic seasoning that I couldn't even find in other places for over a year. read more

Kinda grungy looking little bodega in a shopping plaza. Your typical spanish market, not much new going on there. What really brings me in here, is that the owners make homemade treats to sell every day. On Fridays (I think, can't remember now) they make chicharones. Delicious chunks of fried pork, fat, and skin. Sure to clog your arteries, but I couldn't think of a better way to do it.
