He has an eye for people and settings and the finished work really has a sense of life to it. Just go to his website and you can see he's good. My most recent photography session was extremely important to me: I needed a photo for my book jacket. My book is steampunk, so the clothing and the mood is important. Corey and I talked it over--what I needed, what kind of setting, what I would wear. We did the photos in China Alley in Hanford. The results--wow. It was hard to choose one photograph to send along to my publisher. My past sessions with Corey have also involved my young son, who is autistic. It can be hard for my little guy to focus or smile on command. Corey was very patient and gentle. He even gave my son a job to distract him for a little while, carrying some stuff around, so that my husband and I could get our pictures together.

I was lucky enough to win a photo shoot with Corey Ralston Photography in 2009. It was Fall, so it…read morewas perfect timing for a family portrait with me, my husband and my little dog. Corey was very accessible and it was easy discussing what we wanted--something festive and outdoors for our first-ever Christmas postcard. On the day of the shoot, we met Corey at a beautiful country estate location that he had told us about. We all had such a lovely afternoon with him as he helped us find fun, yet comfortable & natural poses. He even had a blanket prepared, so we could take some shots lying on the grass, while not getting dirty. Corey has a great personality, and it's very easy to open up to him and joke around allowing him to capture your real laughs and smiles--not the overly stiff or phony facial expressions that you see all too commonly at your generic big box McPhoto studio. Now, I don't think it's easy working with animals, but Corey didn't show any signs of frustration, worry or fear when working with our dog. In fact, he captured some really adorable expressions from that grumpy little guy! Now that's a miracle! When we got the photos back, we were so thrilled to see that there were so many good ones to choose from for our postcard! Ultimately, we found one photo that we loved more than the others (it was a hard decision--they were all fantastic!) and used it for our holiday post card. We got a lot of great responses from our family and friends from that post card--one relative even told us that they almost threw it away because it looked like a professional advertisement. Slick! I'm so glad I got to have a photo shoot with Corey, and I HIGHLY recommend him!

We found Laura on the Knott website as we were looking for a wedding photographer. When she first…read morecalled me to y'all about the wedding details, I hung up and called my fiancé and said SHES THE FIRST PERSON THAT HAS MADE ME EXCITED about our wedding! She is so positive and outgoing. We booked her right away without a second thought. And boy and I SO HAPPY we did. Our wedding package came with an engagement session. So we met Laurie in Visalia to do our engagement pictures in the blooms, and I have never seen such AMAZING pictures taken of my groom and I. She has a way with people and children, and even my husband really enjoyed our first photo shoot! She is great with communication and has everything organized on a timeline, and even though I was a hour late from our start time, she had the most optimistic attitude and jumped right in and took the lead! All of my wedding party and guest had nothing but amazing things to say about her, and how polite, sweet and upbeat she is! We will be using her for all family pictures from now on!
