I didn't hear any of the songs I requested during dinner or dancing. She didn't play songs in the genre of music we wanted which led to a majority of our guests leaving the dance floor throughout the night. Christi would continue to play the entire songs from start to finish instead of mixing them together. Throughout the night many of our guests had expressed that DJ Christi J did not read the room well when selecting music. She also didn't announce any dedications for particular songs which we had discussed prior to the wedding as well as listed in the questionnaire. She didn't announce the centerpiece giveaways and left us to pack all the centerpieces after the reception which is also something listed in the questionnaire. I am particularly disappointed as we'd discussed these things as well as what we wanted to have played prior to the wedding. DJ Christi J was late to our final appointment (a 15 minute meeting phone call) and it was clear she was not prepared to discuss our answers in the questionnaire. She was not responsive with texting while we were making updates. We do not believe that she was very professional and would not recommend her for anyone's wedding. It is a shame we had invested so much money into her services.

For music, we had our major songs picked out, but left the rest of the evening up to Craig. Our friends STILL talk about how awesome the music was, more than five years later. We got married in a barn and the dance floor had to be replaced after our wedding from our guests dancing and jumping on it ALL night. He let us have complete control over everything we wanted to do and say, respected the vibe we said we wanted, and of course most importantly sent in our marriage license as soon as he was able. We also got SO many compliments on his DJing from all our guests. He played the songs we asked for while also being able to read the room and know what songs would or wouldn't go over well. We had people dancing from the second the floor opened till we closed it down at midnight. I found DJ Face CT through gigmasters.com, where he has extremely positive reviews. After speaking…read moreto him over the phone he seemed like a very professional, while easy going and fun, DJ. I was extraordinarily confused when I found that the only review he had on yelp was so negative...so I called him to ask about it. He explained to me that the reason behind it was that after multiple conversations about the possibility of a "snow date" (due to the event being in January) the previous reviewer refused to set up an alternative. Sure enough, there was a huge snow storm which prevented safe travel to the venue. Every vendor includes this possibility in their contracts and everyone of them has the same policy, not refundable but they can reschedule using their previous deposit. Multiple vendors cancelled the event due to this snow storm, including the venue itself. All of this information was obtained through DJ Face CT, so of course I only have 1 side of the story. But I can tell you this: We booked DJ Face CT for our wedding, with very little notice, and he did an absolutely amazing job. He showed up on time, set up quickly, and had a perfect presence. He was out of the way when it was not his time to perform, coordinated well with all the other vendors, and extremely respectful to everyone. And then it was his time to perform. He brought the energy of our event straight to the top. Starting with the horah, he got everyone out of their seats, dancing and celebrating. We took a break from the high energy for dinner where he provided excellent ambient music. And then his true talent was able to shine through. DJ Face CT read the crowd like a book, as easily as a elementary school level one. We had a small event in a house and we were concerned that due to the limited space people would not dance. We were 100% wrong, DJ Face kept everyone on the dance floor with perfect flow, switching genres as the crowd needed. Literally everyone was dancing. He was able to slow the party down for our "first" dance and bring it right back to high energy after. He did all of this with almost no input from us. Due to the short notice (we were planning to make our own playlists....bad idea...) We gave him only 2 songs (our first dance and a request from the grooms father) and a short list of genres we liked. He filled in the rest using his expertise. We have recieved so many compliments about our wedding, and all of them specifically included how amazing our DJ was. So please don't be off put by the only bad review he has. We found Jovan through Gigmasters where he had pretty good reviews, his price was fair and we…read morethought we had our wedding DJ. As such we put down 50% of the price and stopped looking for DJs. As we began communicating with him on different aspects he was a bit slow to respond at first but we let it go. Some weeks later we got an email from Gigmasters saying that DJ Face CT was no longer a member of their site. (more on this later) We assumed he had gotten popular and no longer needed to rely on their service to bring him leads so he stopped using them to save himself whatever their fees were. We weren't too concerned. But we wanted to make sure our original agreement was still in force and asked Jovan to send over a contract outside of Gigmasters so we had something in writing saying what we paid, what services we are getting for our fee and the date of the event. I think he responded a few days later to this and said he would send something over. A while went by, no contract. Had to chase him a couple more times before he actually responded and sent a contract over. Frustrating, but we had our contract and thought we were still moving forward with this vendor. Fast forward another few weeks and we talk to him about meeting him at a local Starbucks to go over some details and discuss the elements we want to incorporate in our party. We agree to a date and time at a Starbucks that is close to both of us as we live very close to him. It was close enough that he literally could walk to the location if his car broke down. Still despite a nice convenient place to meet he didn't make it for some reason. Why didn't he make it? I have no idea.....HE'S NOT RESPONDED TO US AT ALL!!! This meeting was supposed to be on Tuesday, it is now Saturday and despite texting him on 2 different numbers, emailing his business email and Gigmasters trying to contact him by phone and email there's been not a peep from him. We have since gotten our deposit refunded by Gigmasters and have moved onto another vendor. If you are reading this and you booked through Gigmasters give them a call and they will refund you, they've been wonderful. Oh, remember that bit about him being off Gigmasters? Gigmasters told us it was because he was completely unresponsive to other folks as well and seeing some of the reviews on Yelp I can see it is a systemic issue with him. They said people that went through with using him were generally pretty happy with his service when he showed up but getting him to respond/show up seems to be the hard part. My advice, STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!
