My daughter was charged $80.00 for this! You should be ashamed of yourselves!

Original review 04/23/18: My daughter went to Elegant Events Salon yesterday to have her long hair curled. She went with freshly washed and dried hair, with the expectation of hot rollers being used. My daughter was there for ten minutes (I know this from the tracker on her car) and they only used a curling iron on the very ends of her hair. By the time my daughter drove less than three miles home, the little bit of wave at the ends of her hair was almost non-existent. My daughter was charged $80.00 for this! Yes, I did say $80.00 for ten minutes of curling iron. I truly believe you took advantage of my daughter going in there by herself. Quick money for di minimis work. If I could leave a negative rating I would. Instead I will be telling everyone I know about how you took advantage of my daughter. You should be ashamed of yourself. I did leave this review on their Facebook page but it was taken down shortly after I posted it with a picture for proof. Update 05/13/18: I contacted the salon and after seeing the picture of my daughter's hair agreed that it was not worth the $80.00 she was charged. I reluctantly agreed to pay $37.50 for the service because she was in the chair and "something" was done. The salon will not provide any refund unless I do the below. 1.) Sign a legal waiver that I will not go after the salon for the $37.50 I agreed to pay; 2.) Agree not to write any negative reviews about the salon; 3.) Take down the review I posted on Yelp; and 4.) Only praise the salon and never speak poorly of them or their services. It is worth it for me to forgo the refund to let people know how horrible this place is. Below is what the release says. RELEASE AND AGREEMENT IN SETTLEMENT OF ALL CLAIMS This settlement and release is entered into this 24th day of April, 2018 by Joanna Abraham (collectively known as "Releasors") in favor of POWERSTATION LLC, d.b.a. Powerstation Events, and any/all of it's employees, agents, divisions and affiliates (collectively known as "Releasees"). Whereas certain differences and disputes have arisen between Releasor and Releasees, concerning an event in which services were performed by the Releasees for the Releasors. This event was held on April 22, 2018. Whereas, the Releasees, without admission of liability or fault, have agreed to forgiveness of the sum total of Thirty-Seven Dollars and Fifty Cents ($37.50) in compromise and settlement of all Releasor's allegations. Whereas, The Releasor agrees to indemnify the Releasees from any injury, and in keeping with that, agree to hold the releasees in the highest regard in the event of any further discussions regarding this event or any other event in which the releasees may be involved with any other party. Therefore, in consideration of, and upon the receipt of this letter, Thirty-Seven Dollars and Fifty Cents ($37.50) will be discounted from the contract, Releasor hereby completely releases and forever discharges Releasees, as well as their past, present, and future parent companies, subsidiaries, directors, stockholders, attorneys, representatives, employees, and assigns, from any and all past, present and future claims, demands, damages, costs, attorney fees, loss of service or earnings, expenses and compensation of any nature whatsoever, whether based in tort or any other theory of recovery, and whether for compensatory or punitive damages, including without limitation any and all known, or unknown claims of personal, economic and non-economic injuries to Releasor and the consequences thereof, including any future claims, which have resulted or may result from Releasor's purchase of services from Releasee, and any alleged acts or omissions of the Releasees in the execution of said services. Releasor acknowledges that nondisclosure is a material consideration for the Releasees having entered into this Release, and agree that they will not disclose, confirm, or discuss the terms or the amount of settlement, or their claims or allegations to any person not party to this Release without the written consent of all other parties, including but not limited to, social, print or broadcast media or any source likely to result in publication and/or dissemination. In addition the Releasor agrees to remove any negative reviews already posted on social media and other websites (i.e.: Yelp, etc) The Release and Agreement, and each and every term and provision hereof, shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Connecticut. I, Joanna Abraham state that we have carefully read the foregoing Release and Agreement, that I fully understand the same and that we sign the same of our own free act and deed. ______________________ Joanna Abraham _______________________ Powerstation LLC

I knew exactly what I wanted and he was more than willing to oblige, as well as offer examples of ceremonies he had done previously. For music, we had our major songs picked out, but left the rest of the evening up to Craig. Our friends STILL talk about how awesome the music was, more than five years later. We got married in a barn and the dance floor had to be replaced after our wedding from our guests dancing and jumping on it ALL night. The dance floor was literally packed during the entire reception. I can't say enough about Craig. I would work with him again in a heart beat!

Craig was great in the run up to the wedding - he answered our questions, helped us work on both a playlist and a ceremony script, and communicated with our coordinator to make sure everything ran smoothly the day of. We are so glad we had Craig do the music and officiating for our ceremony. Stacy played all our music on cue and Craig was a great officiant. He let us have complete control over everything we wanted to do and say, respected the vibe we said we wanted, and of course most importantly sent in our marriage license as soon as he was able. We also got SO many compliments on his DJing from all our guests. He played the songs we asked for while also being able to read the room and know what songs would or wouldn't go over well. We had people dancing from the second the floor opened till we closed it down at midnight. Shoutout to Stacy as well who went above and beyond to help a family member with shuttle information when she totally didn't have to. All around a wonderful experience and I wish I could host another party to use them again!

We had a pretty big health scare with my mom just before the wedding (thankfully she's okay now) and he really kept me and my husband super calm. He is super talented and I've gotten tons of compliments about how awesome our DJ was. It was an absolute pleasure to have him at our special day and I would not hesitate to use him for any event in the future. Thank you so much DJ Ron!!!!

Most importantly, he absolutely crushed it when it came to the dance floor, keeping people dancing (and singing) all night long. He listened to our requests and designed playlists, dances, toasts and announcements to meet our specific vision. No need to look any further. It was so easy to plan all the different music to be played during the ceremony, cocktail hour/dinner, and reception using his portal. On that note, Rocco offers a 'Photo Blitz' option on the portal and it was one of our favorite decisions of the night; we still hear from guests telling us that they had never participated in something like before, but that it was fun and such a great way to get photos with all the tables. I don't want to spoil all the fun so make sure you ask Rocco about it! Come wedding day, Rocco set up his equipment quickly and cleanly, and played all the music we asked for perfectly! He also read the room great, and changed the music genres to suit the people on the dance floor while still staying within out requested music list. Rocco's audio equipment sounded great, and the lighting was just what we were looking for. Cheryl ran the photobooth for the evening, and had a great selection of props for guests to use. Not only do the guests get copies of their photobooth photos, but Cheryl gifted us copies of the photos in a special way that we continue to look through and laugh at the memories from that night! We thoroughly recommend Rocco and Cheryl for weddings, or really any event that you're looking to have great music and fun photos of your guests. Thank you again to Rocco and Cheryl!

When I say Todd put on an absolute clinic would be an understatement. From smooth ceremony coordination, making sure the day ran smoothly, and then of course running that dance floor like no one's business. He turned a medium sized side room at Branford House in Mystic into a club experience with how he managed the lighting. This wasn't over the top - some light sticks and a bunch of uplights, but they were tastefully synced and programmed. And the music - he was pulling out all the stops even during dinner, dropping throwbacks and getting people singing in between bites across all age ranges. It's not like he peaked early either, he kept it going strong the entire night. Did I mention his contagious smile and upbeat attitude? This makes all the difference on a potentially crazy day - you can't help but feel relaxed around him. Plus the humor he peppers throughout the day, you'll know what I mean once you book him.
