Bryson Farms is an Organic Vegetables Home Delivery Service. My husband and I have been receiving…read morevegetables from them for 5 years. Their vegetables are fresh and tasty, and their customer service is excellent. Full disclosure: I hate vegetables. I only eat them because they are healthy and good for me, and part of being an adult is doing things even if you don't like it because they are good or you. I generally don't like the taste of vegetables, but I have to admit that locally grown organic vegetables taste less objectionable to me than regular vegetables at the grocery store. So there are different size baskets you can get (i.e. for 2 people, 4 people, etc.) and different frequencies for delivery (every week, every 2 weeks, etc.). When you sign up you tell them where on your property you will put your cooler and they will put the delivered vegetables in your cooler. If you forget to put out your cooler, they will use their best judgement as to where the safest place would be to put the vegetables and then they call your emergency contact number to tell you where the vegetables were placed. And hopefully you can make it home to collect your vegetables before the raccoons get to them, lol. The day of the week of your delivery will depend on your postal code. They deliver to different parts of the NCR on different days. This day remains constant. When they deliver your basket, they usually ring the doorbell before they leave. So if you are home, you know that they've come. What you get in your basket is a surprise every time. I actually like this because it's like Christmas (except it's vegetables, and I paid for them, so I guess not too much like Christmas, but you know what I mean). I love coming home to my basket of surprise vegetables. I also love getting things that I have no idea what the heck they are, and have to Google them to see how to prepare and eat them. This also forces me to try new vegetables. I had fiddleheads for the first time because they were in our basket. Some examples of vegetables that we sometimes get in our basket: different types of squash (acorn, butternut, pattypan, etc.), carrots, tomatoes, different types of mushrooms (including exotic ones like oyster, lobster, chanterelle, morels, etc.) kale (green, red, Lacinato, etc.), collard greens, Swiss chard (different colours), cucumbers, bell peppers, fiddleheads, snow peas, garlic scapes, beets, turnips, strange greens (like Lamb's Quarters, Sorrel, etc.), bok choy, parsnips, corn, eggplant, potatoes, sweet potatoes, radishes, spinach, different types of lettuces, microgreens, and so much more!! We sometimes get "prepared foods" like vegetarian chili and roasted tomatoes. We've also gotten garlic powder. Since everything is grown in Shawville, QC, you only get what can be grown in this climate. Although they do have greenhouses, so you get greens year-round. Prices are a bit on the high end, but you get quality foods (and local and organic). 2 person baskets are $60, 4 person baskets are $75, 6 person baskets are $100. They also have specialty baskets like all greens basket, all roots basket, etc. And if you really don't like something, you can tell them that you don't want that item in your basket. Customer service is excellent. They are very professional and accountable. Once they made a mistake and forgot to deliver our basket. When we contacted them, they apologized and said they would deliver it the next day and give us some extra vegetables for the inconvenience, which they did. They are quick to respond to correspondences and are very nice. If you are looking for home delivered locally grown organic vegetables and you live in the NCR, I would definitely recommend Bryson Farms!!

This place is AWESOME…read more I've been twice now for the annual strawberry picking, and the entire experience is great. The fields are well-kept, the staff are extremely friendly and I just generally enjoy being out at the farm to pick my own strawberries to turn into lovely homemade jam. They don't just have strawberries though; they've grown over the past few years and offer raspberry picking, peas, beans, pumpkins and apples, seasonally. The other thing worth mentioning is that they do a fantastic job of managing farm updates on Facebook and their website (www.fruition.ca). With wacky weather and the finicky nature of any harvest, things change pretty quickly. But, their timely updates will let you plan a great visit to the farm for whatever is in season.

Very kid friendly with lots of space for them to run around, play on the wooden tractor, play on the hay and of course take a real ride on the tractor that runs non stop. Whether your spending time picking your own or just out to grab fresh picked fruits and veggies everything is always so juicy and tasty. All season long they have things going on, berry picking, corn maze, pumpkin picking, and lots of other great food. The price is perfect $5.25 for a small basket or $10 for a large one. Don't have a basket to bring you can buy them for a $1 and re-use them over and over. Trust me once you experience Fruition you'll be back

A huge shout out to Catie S for telling me about this place because it is awesome! Fruits Express…read moreis a fruits and vegetables wholesaler but they are open to the public. Some things are huge bulk sizes like their gigantic bag of spring mix ($13.50) and flat of 30 eggs ($5), but some things you can buy smaller quantities like their 1 pound clamshell of strawberries ($1.75), bunch of spinach ($1.50), bundle of asparagus ($2) and 6 pack of avocados ($4). I think prices vary depending on what's in season, but prices are definitely cheaper than regular prices at grocery stores, and some things are even cheaper than grocery store sale prices. The place is a warehouse so it's industrial looking and not fancy. You'll see staff walking around with restaurant order sheets and loading orders up into a dolly and putting boxes into their trucks. It's cash only and there are no lines, no cash register, no receipts. You just find the owner (or ask anyone who works there and they'll direct you to the owner) he'll add things up in his head and give you the total. You pay him and leave with your goodies. In addition to fruits and vegetables, they have huge cans of tomato sauce too. The owner, Hassan, is super nice and friendly. We chatted a bit and I discovered that they've been open for around 5 years but just opened up to the public 2 months ago. All staff there are really nice too. One guy showed me where the bags were and another one asked me if I wanted a box to put all my stuff in. And when I left another guy asked me if I needed help loading my stuff into my car (I didn't actually buy that much but it was stuffed in a box so I guess it looked heavy (?)). Anyway, everyone was really friendly and helpful. So this place is on Canotek in an industrial strip mall. Follow the sign towards the back of the complex. There's a door marked "Fruits Express" it might be obscured by one of their delivery trucks, which was the case when I did my first lap around the building looking for this place, lol. There's lots of free parking. This place rocks! It's a bit far from my house, but is on the way to places I go to frequently, so yeah, I'll probably become a regular!

Hot tip: they also sell eggs. You sacrifice some of the conveniences of the grocery store (hours, aesthetic, location) but the prices are just about half of the grocery store, so it's totally worth it. I tell all my pals to go to Fruits Express. If you can make it out to Canotek within their opening hours, there's no reason not to give them a try. Oh, and they will like you better if you bring cash ;-)
