I took my Ford Explorer to Mike, having known him for 20 years, I just knew he could handle a recharge of my AC SYSTEM. OPPS, I guess Mike missed that month in class when they taught AC REPAIR because a simple recharge turned into a $3,500.00 TOTAL AC REBUILD INCLUDING A COMPRESSOR. WOW, was I shocked!! Not only did he totally screwup my AC SYSTEM but he still expected to get paid $3,500.00 without fixing my AC SYSTEM. now where is the justice in that. I went ahead and paid the runt and then called my brother who added a few key phrases to my distort. I can not believe the arrogance of these car mechanics these days. On 1-5 scale, I rate Mike Ford's a 7.5!!! Got me in same day as my initial call and out on 3rd day! Diagnosis was spot on. Ancillary issues were also addressed. I thought I had a $3k to $5k issue. Mike got me out for under $400!!!! Seriously, if you're in Rome and your car has any sort of problem, odds are they can fix it. Three separate times I've come in, and each time I've left with my car feeling brand new. A couple of years ago, for example, my engine was overheating. I foolishly thought it was just a faulty thermometer until going to Mike Ford's, where I found out that the antifreeze had apparently been leaking. I was in Cedartown visiting family for thanksgiving and my wife had noticed a grinding sound when we parked the car after driving from Texas. I called the day before thanksgiving and asked if they could take a look. They said they were full but would take a look to make sure it was safe to drive back to Texas. I drove up to Rome and Mike took my car for a drive and put it on the lift to check the suspension. Everything was fine and there were 2 items that would need attention soon but would not be an issue for driving back. It was very busy there but everyone, including the customers were super nice. Mike is the kind of mechanic that tells you when something needs to be fixed or if it can wait another 10000 miles or so. He gave me a great price on a new battery, and answered some burning car questions that didn't have anything to do with the current service! My daughter is a student in Rome, GA. I live in MS. She was having trouble with her car. She went to Auto Zone, and they replaced the battery, but the car still didn't start. He was suggested the starter may be going out on the car. I searched Yelp for auto repair companies in the area, and Mike Ford's had great customer service reviews. I am echoing those comments. I spoke with Stanley, who assured me they would take care of the repairs, and keep me informed of the process. I had the car towed there on a Friday, and assured them we weren't rushing to get it back. My daughter was able to get the car after the repairs on Tuesday, and she told me they were so nice when she picked up the car. EXCELLENT customer service is key to a successful business.
