Fox Fire Protection has been an integral part as I took over responsibilities of my family's property management business a couple years ago. Through the referral of my sister, I've added them to the ever-growing roster of vendors I've collected who helped to ensure the day-to-day operations ran as efficiently and safely as possible. With the addition of a new property literally in their backyard, it only made sense to call upon Fox Fire Protection to do an initial assessment of the existing fire extinguishers and building itself. Was there anything to be worried about!?
THE COMPANY
Since 1981, Fox Fire Protection has been in the fire protection business in Southern California. Their business thrived thanks in part to their commitment to integrity and excellence as they provided the best service possible to their customer. A small company that enabled them to provide more personalized service and better prices without the overhead of a large company. They adhered strictly to state, county and city fire codes, as they strove every day to keep their customers safe and satisfied. Their city of Los Angeles Regulation 4 and Chapter 19 testers together have over 80 years of experience, while their state-of-the-art company vans are equipped to handle all fire protection needs. Their focus was on detecting and correcting fire code and insurance violations before they became major liabilities. They offered experience and expertise, and believed strongly in integrity. Lastly, they were a Member of the National Fire Protection Association.
PURCHASE
Standard Annual Service Call (Varied; $35.00 this instance): Based on the distance from their home office, this flat-rate service call varied between $35.00-$65.00, which included a visit to your property for a thorough assessment of the particular situation (i.e. alarms, exinguishers, sprinkler system).
Replacement Extinguisher (Varied; $56.25 this instance): One existing extinguisher was found to be suspect with potential issues and needed replacement. So, a brand new 5 lb. ABC Amerex Fie Extinguisher was provided. Better to be safe than sorry, right https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=U2YEIqekc0gr7cKmJTNMRA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw!?
SERVICE
From the time I called and usually spoke with Christina who ran the office to schedule an appointment, you were usually given a 2-hour courtesy window, which wasn't bad at all. A special acknowledgement went to Ryan https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=m68zc8sP3mqB8gqJyrSOUQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw who would be the primary Supervisor for this and all other properties. He was usually affable, cheerful, detail-oriented (his service calls lasted between 30-60 minutes which depended on the size of the property and the type of system it had if any), extremely informative, and patient. He also provided a thorough recap on the invoice that was mailed to you. On this particular visit, he explained about a new extinguisher recall that affected three of the four on the premises and what exactly I needed to do to have this resolved. They provided excellent customer service from start to finish.
PARKING (n/a)
Since their business was all about coming to your location, out of courtesy you tried to have a convenient spot for them to park their vehicle https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=anWDaeaPF5SbOedaJLNE_w&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Otherwise, they were more than happy to park out on the street.
ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE
Although they had an actual office building, that was rather inconsequential since the real place of business was at any given property where the service needed to be done.
ATTIRE
Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops.
OVERALL
Fox Fire Protection more than proved their worth to me after the first couple of encounters with them a couple years ago and made it easy for me to hand over the responsibilities to them from the previous larger and less personal vendor. Although their prices were slightly more than the former vendor, their customer service more than made up for that difference. They obviously had my best interest at heart when they mentioned the recall I was unaware of when I'm sure they could've just serviced each extinguisher as they were. I found exceptionally good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $97.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, although they accepted credit cards (additional 3.5% processing fee), not mine of choice...AMEX! 4.5 STARS
