There has never been a fault in my camera setup in these three years. The reason I write again is that we replaced our laptop computers this year, and needed service to help set the software up. The company runs lean, and they do not have a normal "help desk" when you call, so you don't always get an answer or help immediately, but I still give them five stars because they care about your experience with this and they make up for it once you get their highly competent technician on your case. Joe set up the software on two computers in only a couple of minutes and it feels like these cameras are sturdy and will continue running through at least a few generations of computers. If I ever want more coverage or upgrades, I would stay with this service.

He is someone with the experience and instincts to really understand safety and that was very apparent in our conversations. He's not a salesman - he's a security expert who knows what you need and is honest and direct. He didn't try to upsell me on excessive unnecessary items like other companies. He asked about my goals and truly sought to understand exactly what I wanted before giving his suggestions. I asked tons of questions which he answered thoroughly and patiently. The best part about the experience was he could instantly tell I was shaken up from a previous incident and was so compassionate while still being direct. He talked to me about how to keep myself safe in case of another break-in given the layout of the new house and improve overall house safety in other ways. He even noticed the doors weren't installed correctly and missing tiny parts that make a door super easy to kick in. You don't always get more bang for your buck and it's definitely much more expensive than a DIY Google Nest self install, but I will sleep better at night knowing I got the true expert advice I needed to keep myself and my home safe. Due to the permitting system in the area and the issues with the owner of the house I lease there may be issues with getting one feature but I am going very out of my way to find a way to get what he thinks I need. The reason for only three stars is because one of the 43" TV's was loose - the bottom two screws connecting the back of the TV to the mount were not screwed in all the way, leaving a loose gap that I noticed when adjusting my TV later that night. I figured out how to remove the TV from the wall piece, and when I went to screw the screws in the rest of the way, I learned that the holes must not have been deep enough - they wouldn't go further. So I pulled out a couple of rubber washers that came with the mounting hardware to stick into the loose space and presto! My TV is now securely fastened to the mount, and replaced onto the wall piece. I don't feel like I should have had to do that. Even if the screws would not screw in further, Shawn could have communicated that to me in the moment (so we could figure out together that using the washers would solve the problem) instead of just leaving it that way.

In August 2026, an ADT technician told us our home's existing hardwired alarm system (ADT Safewatch…read morePro 3000/Honeywell, installed 2015, fully functional) "could not be activated anymore." Relying on this claim, we purchased a new wireless system (ADT7AIO) for over $600 plus a monitoring contract. We have since confirmed the claim was misleading: the wired system is industry-standard hardware that any provider could have activated, and its control board, sensors, and wiring remain intact and functional in our home. The statement conflated ADT's product-catalog decision with technical impossibility. The installation itself was also defective. The technician spent 8 hours at our home and installed a 7V/1A power adapter on a panel specified for 9VDC/2.5A, causing days of continuous reboot failures and requiring multiple service visits. To this day, the battery doesn't seem to hold a charge so we are constantly needing to silence the alert. The technician also damaged our doorbell circuit, requiring us to pay an electrician to solve the issues. Though we have only been with ADT for about 1 week, we are extremely disappointed and angry that they have misled us and have not properly installed the system. We have spent hours on hold waiting to resolve the issue. In addition, we were told that in order to add other users to our web access of ADT that we need to share passwords. This is concerning to hear from a service representative of a security service. We request: (1) full refund of all installation/equipment charges (~$600+) and monitoring fees paid; (2) cancellation of the monitoring contract with no early-termination fee; (3) ADT retrieval of its equipment.
