Our experience with Mike Hammer Moving was exceptional! It started with a personal visit from Mike himself to bid our job. We've lived in the same house for 27 years, so we had a lot of stuff!! Mike not only gave us an accurate quote, he also shared tips to minimize the cost and pain of moving. On moving day, seven men and two trucks arrived right on time. Talk about a well-oiled machine! Every person knew their job, and it was awesome to watch them work. You would think seven people would trip over each other, but this crew had no issues with that. They got those trucks packed up in no time, and gave us an extra hand as well with hand carry items. Holden volunteered to carry things to our cars and continued to do so until it was all loaded up! Once we arrived at our new home, the crew went to work putting furniture and boxes where we asked. Once again, every man worked without stopping. There were no slackers on this team! The entire move took only 5 hours, which we thought was astonishing! Kendrick was the lead on the job, and he was very polite and businesslike. I could tell that Jordan, the other driver, considered this job his career. He was constantly coaching and assisting as he went. He definitely led by example. We can't adequately express our appreciation for the way this company pulled off this giant effort on our behalf! They assure these are items you preferred to remain with you and carefully pack everything else. This is one aspect of their thoroughness and consideration. The household goods they packed for us - set of China, crystal bowls, artwork, all arrived unblemished as did everything else. I have worked in retail for almost 50 years, and I don't believe I've had such a positive experience at any time with any business. Two men came the day before we moved to box up our kitchen. Each box was labeled with Magic Marker so it was easily visible: KITCHEN, STORAGE ROOM, OFFICE, etc. Everything was wrapped beautifully. There was not a single piece damaged. My husband and I made the mistake of not checking to see if our new laundry room had a gas hook-up for our gas dryer. They moved both the washer and the dryer to our new home and THEN we discovered the problem. The guys ended up MOVING IT BACK to our home for the estate sale. And this was UP AND THEN DOWN a flight of stairs. And the response from the head guy was "IT'S NO PROBLEM. HAPPY TO DO IT." I cannot begin to describe how impressed I was with the gentlemen who moved us from MO to KS a couple of months ago. I will forever call them the "dream team": Kye H, Tyler G, Chris H, Dakota G, and Casey N. They were amazing and exceeded every expectation I had! They worked harder and more carefully than any movers I have every encountered. Each piece of furniture was expertly wrapped and nothing was scratched or broken (not even the fragile antique furniture, crystal, and china). The crew followed every label and note I had written on the boxes. They were professional, respectful, polite, and went overboard to accommodate our every need. We used Mike Hammer movers last week for our move from Shawnee to Olathe. Son, Jake had come out a few weeks ago to give us an estimate. Although it wasn't the cheapest estimate that we got, we chose them because they were a local business. The 3 man crew that came out on moving day was on time and worked hard all day. The 2 younger boys they sent were amazing, they were able to pick up heavy furniture and easily carry it out. All were pleasent and willing to place furniture where ever it was needed. Cannot say enough about our experience with Mike and his crew. Mike came out to give us an estimate about 2 months before the move and he was spot on with his pricing. They showed up on time and packed the trucks taking care of covering furniture to protect from damage. I was at new house checking in with my husband and he was impressed by the whole crew and how well they work together. We had large shelving that needed to be moved downstairs to a storage area and took great pains to protect doors, floors, and railing from getting damaged. We have not moved in 13 years so we had forgotten what a task it is HOWEVER, the moving crew of four guys was OUTSTANDING! Super polite, very professional, great communication and completed the ENTIRE move in about 2 hours LESS than what they thought it may take. Unbelievable communication from the first phone call we made to get information to the end of the job when all four guys thanked us for the business and had us walk around the house to be sure everything was where it was supposed to be!! Mike's crew loaded up a 15' U Haul truck for son's move. Mike was available to me with any questions and suggestions as we prepared for this move. Thought we were going to need a trailer but the movers were expertly able to get all the items into the truck. Thank goodness didn't have to tow that trailer behind the truck! Our movers were prompt, courteous and friendly. Prices quoted were spot on. We had Mike and Dustin help us move from Alhambra to Culver City and they were awesome! Very fast, efficient, and professional. They helped us wrap, pack, and transport everything we needed. Nothing was damaged and best of all, they were upfront with everything from the beginning, which I always appreciate. Awesome job! Had a couple moving companies that did not even call me back or provide quote. Mike Hammer's was quick and walked me through everything. The crew that moved me was in for a fun day as I have a few heavy and awkward items. (including a 150# steel anvil) Despite the weight and the terrain, they did a great job with a good attitude.
