Although it always seems that Ken & "the company" seem to know pretty much everything there is to know about Progressive Insurance, I wish someone here would double-check before they show me my rates for them to make sure I'm getting the most out of my buck and to make sure nobody else is lower. Although Ken has always found more discounts with Progressive, I do think a secondary check should be made to ensure Progressive is still the best one out there. (Make me feel like you are doing all of your job the next time I'm in - though I can trust you to find a good company to meet my needs.) They are committed to something long lost, client service, and real interactions with those who are customers. I have experienced it from every single person I have dealt with at various branches. The manager, Missy, and the assistant manager, Zak have both made sure to reach out to me on different occasions with personal service. I am just a regular customer. I do not have a lot of money. I am not a wealthy client. And yet, they treat me as if I was a billionaire. I wish all businesses were as good as this bank. Life for us as consumers would be heaven.

But after many months of waiting(due to other problems that kept from starting another car insurance policy), things turned for the worse here. With the merger of the smaller Griffin Agency from Red Hook into this bigger company into one, it seems like all those who work here seem to feel they have too much power and may control the entire area's insurance. They used to treat you like family, but now they treat you like you are just another number(policy number) in their database. They told me in January that they'd backdate an additional part of my mothers policy(combination with hers), along with many others. But when it was almost time to start the policy up, we had some communication with them that turned out that nothing was ever done and nothing they said they'd do, ever got completed. Since then, we've contacted another insurance agent in my town to see about switching the policies to these others instead. But while we're in the transition period, our policies are still with this business! When my mother asked me to come in and help her pay for her month's bill (she'll reimburse me later this week) this month, I can truthfully say this whole thing is completely true. The floor may be spotless, but they all act like they are 'top dog' in the Hudson Valley area. Un-merge Griffin Agency, and you'll see more business, as you knew what you had to do and could do things effectively when you weren't merged with them. You still had a passion for your work, when you were not merged a few months ago. But things changed, all our lives changed, but the change is affecting the business negatively.

A family member of mine has chosen this agent/agency as their car insurer for decades. This past…read moreyear when he mailed in his insurance payment (as he has done every year for decades) it was stolen out of his mailbox and cashed by mailbox thief (this has been reported to the bank and the authorities and an investigation has ensued. My family member had every reason to believe that his payment was applied as his check was cashed. Unfortunately, he got into his first fender bender and due to situations beyond his control, he has lost his license due to "not having insurance" even though he paid the bill and the money was taken out of his account. Tom Loughlin has promised to remedy this situation but instead has decided not to even return the client or families phone calls. This has left his former loyal and faithful client without transportation, health care, medication and the basic necessities to survive. Mr. Loughlin is aware of the situation that he has placed his former client into and still refuses to act with honor and integrity. I received an advertisement from my local State Farm Agent asking me to reconsider State Farm as my insurance carrier. However, with people like Tom Loughlin setting the example for a lack of integrity and honor, I will not even be willing to receive a quote from any State Farm Agent. I will be contacting the main office of State Farm Nationally to explain why I will not be accepting an estimate from any State Farm office, why I am informing my 1,500 + Social Media Followers, why I am asking my first cousin who is a New York Times Best Selling Author ( and lives local to Mr. Loughlin) to inform any and all of his contacts of Mr. Loughlin's lack of business and personal ethics, and will the local media sources as I feel that consumers should be informed of the dangers in using Tom Loughlin and State Farm by proxy.
