The service department is incompetent at best. My vehicle had a recall issue. They denied that was why the problem existed. Tried to tell me the recall happened after the problem. Totally not true. Took it for transmission service. 3 weeks later I need a new transmission that they quoted at $9,500. Nope. No way. Given the sales dept would take it for a trade-in leaves me wondering if there is such a terrible problem at all. Anyway, they are the least sympathetic, coldest unfriendly people there. The techs hide from customers. They hardly answer the phone then act put out when a person has to come in to get info. Do NOT go there. read more

We have had sketchy service with Rivertown causing damage to our F150 they refuse to fix. Needed some repair under warranty and Rivertown refused us a loaner car, which is part of our warranty we paid for. Took the truck an hour north to Mike Patton and they were amazing. Bryce was our service agent and he managed the engine repairs and had the loaner ready. He communicated with us the entire time it was in the shop. Just a no hassle experience and he was honest and up front from the start. I really appreciate Bryce and the Mike Patton Ford group. They are worth the drive for a good experience. read more

CROOKS. Our 2018 Explorer had the check engine light go on. We took it to our very honest local mechanic who informed us it was the catalytic converter. Due to federal regulations, the manufacturer is required to replace it at no cost because we are under 8 years and 80k miles. We live about an hour from this dealership, but my mechanic said they are a "nice family owned dealership" which is why we took it there (the ones near us are terrible). Well, we drove the 1 hour to drop it off. They then tell us there are some components of the converter that need to be replaced, but that the converter itself was fine. So they charge us $800 and replace whatever it was they said needed to be done. I take a $70 Uber ride to go pick my car up. Not even 2 weeks later the light goes on again. I call and speak to the woman who is the service manager. She is immediately cold and I can tell she is on the defense. I tell her whats going on and she keeps repeating what their system read on my car. I kept asking her "how is it possible my mechanic got the reading for the catalytic converter, yet you guys, the ACTUAL DEALERSHIP cant see that. She kept saying the same thing over and over and not answering my question. Then she had the audacity to tell me im getting frustrated. Clearly this woman has zero customer service experience or any common sense. I ended up telling her we will figure it out somewhere else. Which we ended up doing. Guess what was wrong with it? I have been going to Mike Patton Ford for over 7 years and had grown used to their good service and communications...until today. I dropped off my 2001 F150 for regular service and maintenance and also the multi-point inspection. They called me today to tell me my truck was ready so I went to pick it up. I went in and was given my ticket and the total due and I paid it and left to get my truck. As I walked out and was reading through the service ticket, there was a section that said. "leaking oil and transmission fluid out the back" - WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? No one at Mike Patton brought this up as I was paying my bill nor did anyone call me to discuss this. I am not a mechanic - all I know is this doesn't sound good and in my mind I would not have let a customer drive off without explaining something..... BUT - they did schedule me ANOTHER appointment to bring the truck back in so they could look at this in detail.....ok- so I'll take it back. When I got home, I called Mike Patton to talk with the Service Manager - but the manager had already gone home for the weekend (about 2:45pm on Friday 10/24/2023). So sad - they used to be really good (expensive but good) - now they are just expensive. P.S. - at 3:30pm (same day as I picked up the truck) the Service Director at Mike Patton called me at home and apologized for all of this and said it would all be taken care of Monday when I have to bring the truck back in. Mike patton has got to have the worst service department I have ever been to. This is my 4th experience with them and I have issues every time. Scheduled alignment at 8:30 in the morning and dropped my truck off the night before. I even made sure they said my truck would be ready the next day because i couldnt go 2 days without another vehicle due to work and kids schooling. They called me an hour before closing to tell me my truck would not get finished today. The last experience ended with the service manager laughing at the fact that her employee called the wrong number rather than mine to tell me my truck was ready after he said he called and i had to show him my phone log. read more

Didn't honor my scheduled appointment, didn't communicate sufficiently about the status of my repairs, lied on the receipt about our communications, kept my vehicle for two+ weeks for a simple repair and ultimately left me with a faulty part. I spent several days dealing with Jimmy Purnel and it was a horrible experience. He promised me a deal that he couldn't make . His sales manager and the the general manager David Ray called me trying to smith things over. David Ray told me he was going to work hard to make things good. At the end of the business day (in my mind) 5pm , I had not heard back from David so I called him. He told me there was nothing he could do. So he was just making me wait wasting more of my time by not letting me know that. Jimmy promised me a payment of $555 and then when it was time to do the paperwork and close the deal the payment was $620. Quite a difference!!! Really bad service experience. Warranty fix. They initially had the vehicle for 1 week, said it was ready. I picked it up and still had the problem. They subsequently kept the vehicle for another 2 weeks with limited updates. Fortunately, it's a work vehicle, so I didn't personally suffer from 3 weeks without it. I was interested in a Raptor, but based on this experience will avoid looking at Ford trucks. I'll stick to Toyota. I do not recommend them, serious. read more

I have a 2019 Fusion and it had a really bad rattle at idle but would dissipate once in higher RPMs. It did this for about 2 months (keep in mind I have been driving it back and forth to work every day in Atlanta) before I decided to take it to the Ford "professionals" to have it diagnosed. I DROVE my car to the dealership and dropped it off 03/28/2023, the next day 03/29/2023 Veronica the service writer called me and told me they had diagnosed my car and that I would need a long block because I slung a rod. I rebutted this with its next to nearly impossible that I slung a rod. I went back and forth with the Service Department for 2 days asking for a further inspection to finally be told by the Service Manager Mandy that "something was rolling around in the bottom of my engine and they would have to break it down past failure to tell me what it was". Once again not likely. The quote stated that the technician (Brandon Vernadoe) started the car and turned it on and off 3 times and this is how Mike Patton deemed I needed a long block, seems pretty casual to me. A 10K quote was written and provided to me. I decided to pick up my car and take it to another shop for a 2nd opinion. I paid the $150 diagnostic fee; even though there was no "diagnosing" completed. The next day my car was diagnosed and I had a cracked flexplate (which by the way is a very common problem in the 1.5L and 2L engines that Ford produces), I moved forward with the repairs at that shop and in 4 days had my car back and running as it should have been. I reached back out to Mike Patton for a refund of the "diagnostic charges" and was asked to bring my car by for an inspection. Fine, I took my car yesterday 04/11/2023 WITH the broken flexplate in my hand- the Service Manager Mandy argued with me about that repairing my car in front of 3 employees and another customer. The foreman went out and inspected and the car was in fact repaired. So not only did Mike Patton misdiagnose my car BY A LONG SHOT, they never had the common decency to apologize. Had I moved forward with a long block I would have received my car back with the same issue. My question is what then? More money to fix the actual problem? Or would have Mike Patton seen that plate when replacing the engine and not said a word? They have lost all confidence in me as a future customer, I wouldn't let them put air in my bicycle tires. From the top (Brian Patton) to the technician (Brandon Vernadoe) that diagnosed my car the only apology that was given was from the Foreman (Shawn). No more Mike Patton for me if I can help it. PLEASE READ (make your own decision but this is my terrible experience) If there was less than a star, I think I would offer it to Mike Patton Ford. I purchased a vehicle from there in late June 2022. I have been trying to get them to remedy a problem and nothing. I mean nothing. I began almost immediately letting them know of a problem with the wiper fluid not dispensing (they mentioned nothing about the problem, hood being after market on a 2021 vehicle purchased in 2022, and more). Have had two (2) separate Ford dealers asking if the car was involved in a wreck but nothing was disclosed to me and I was given the "clean Car Fax." Oh yeah, one of those were the service reps from Mike Patton themselves following my visit to ask them to check and see why wiper fluid wasn't being dispensed. When I purchased the car, they convinced me to buy the Zurich lifetime maintenance plan that could not only be "rolled into" my financing for the vehicle but would be able to be used anywhere that I took my vehicle. LIES! On my first visit after moving to a local Ford Dealer for servicing, I was told that I could only use it at the place I purchased it from. Mike Patton rep Javier said that he would be happy to send me the part to fix my "wiper issue," a check for $140 (allegedly one hour of master mechanic's time to install), as well as cancel the Zurich policy. NOTHING HAS BEEN RECEIVED after months of him telling me this and I am still paying interest on a plan I cannot use. I have even reached out asking again but crickets, which is typical I guess. I sent emails on 8/1, 10/2, 10/12, 11/30,1/5, 1/19, 2/16, 3/1, and 3/17. They make sure to tell you about the foundations of the "Mike Patton Brand," and let's be honest because they are far from it, they want to sell cars and then be done with you. I was a big boy and made my own choices about what car I bought but they hid information, weren't transparent, and have been absolutely terrible about follow up service. Again, this is just my story and will not be purchasing anything else from Mike Patton and I would encourage anyone to consider it heavily before doing such. read more

I ordered a 2022 Ford Maverick from Ford and chose this am the local dealership. I made an appointment to confirm my order and sat down with a salesman. We went over the options and he said he submitted my order. 8 months later I find out he sever submitted my order and was told be at manager there was nothing they could do. Mike Patton Ford has been caring for my 2005 Ford Excursion for twelve or more years. Taryn Jones has been my Service Advisor for a good bit of that time. She ALWAYS handles the work in an efficient and timely manner. When possible, she looks for discounts because some of the work has been costly but needed to maintain the truck in almost new condition. On 10-14-2021 she scheduled a turbocharger cleaning and was able to get it done in one day. My contribution was to be there at 5:20 A.M. so the vehicle would cool down enough the diesel tech, Tim, could work on it. She also got my batteries changed so I would not have a none starting cold morning. It is a little over forty miles one way from my home to Mike Patton. I make that trip for oil changes and everything else because of people like Taryn and Tim. I WILL NOT USE THE LOCAL FORD STORE, RIVERTOWN FORD. I will continue to use Mike Patton Ford. They are good people, care for your vehicle as it should be done, and treat threat the customers well. When you see Tim work you realize he likes his work and cares for customer's vehicle like it was his own. He knows how much I value that truck and treats it as such. Thanks Taryn and Tim. Mike Patton gets one star because there isn't a "no star" option. I own a 2016 Ford Mustang and I've taken it here for servicing (and repair) on multiple occasions. Even with an appointment, the wait times are always long. They do not honor your time nor do they give accurate information as to how long repair processes will take. We were getting ready to purchase a new Ford SUV for my mother. I'll drive an hour to Columbus to make that deal as I won't give another dollar to Mike Patton Ford. read more

Service department is not what it once was. Multiple trips to fix singular issues. Wrong diagnosis on the turbo for my 2015 Expedition. Also they replaced the rear wiper arm. Now it sags below the window and washer fluid doesn't work. When I took it back, they said it needed a new wiper motor for $439. They're poor tech work is the reason it's messed up to begin with. I'll be taking my Ford products elsewhere. read more

What happened over the years with this place? Sales advisors are will lie to get you in the service department only to have you wait for hours on simple service (tire rotation). Just do what I want done for my car and stop looking for things just to add to the ticket. For example, I know my tires had a low tread number and already had the tires ordered from Sam's Warehouse for a cheaper price and I still get the factory rebate from the tire company. I buy from Sam's and get free rotation and balance but have to pay for it all the time at the Ford dealership. And why does Ford not give free lifetime brake pads. Most are not that expensive if ordered online or at Napa auto. With my old Chevy, I just trade in the old for new with no charge. read more

We refused to goto Columbus Rivertown Ford because of their poor customer service.This is my 9th Ford dealership from across the country I have been to and 7th car either purchased or leased.My Grandpa worked for Ford and I come from a Ford family and my husband was a Chevy guy.What turned my husband around was the Ford experience you get.Unfortunately when your military you have the great experience of dealing with a local car dealership.After our experience in Columbus with the service department I REFUSED to give them any type of business.I however didn't want to drive 12 hrs to the family dealer and didn't want to drive 4 hrs to Savannah with our dealer we have gotten 3 cars from.I did feel guilty not going to reg dealer but came across Mike Patton on yelp.After looking at all 3 reviews one which was pointless and had nothing to do with service we figured why not they can't possibly be worse then Rivertown Ford in Columbus.We walked in and it reminded me of my family Ford dealership.Every one that walked passed us smiled and said hi.Our salesperson was Amber and she was awesome.Not pushy and just very relaxed experience.The sales Manager was awesome,finance was awesome.They all stayed late past the time they closed so we didn't have to drive back to finish paperwork.Def above and beyond and we will def be coming here for as long as we're stationed here.I def feel like this is now our goto dealer....So if your in Columbus drive the hour it's def worth it just for the sales experience of not being bullied into a purchase. read more

She was knowledgable and not "pushy" at all. She didn't even try to show us (especially my 17 yr. old) cars that were out of our price range! If you are like me, you dread car shopping because the sales people swarm you like vultures and you feel pushed into buying something you don't really want or can't afford. However, the experience at Mike Patton actually makes car buying a pleasure! John O'Keefe (I believe that's his name, forgive me if I got it wrong) is a true asset to Mike Patton as he is knowledgeable on the vehicles and treats you like he would his own family. He helped me get out of a Lease (tough project to take on if you've ever tried to end a lease early) and into a beautiful brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee (my dream car). He is honest and blunt with you which is what we like and never pushed me into anything I didn't feel comfortable with! From the service department to the sales folks to the higher ups, they are amazing!
