Mike Reichenbach Ford - Our Ford truck broke down while we were on a long trip (and towing a boat) - Car Dealers Near Me - Florence, South Carolina

Bought a used 2020 Mustang from Mike Reichenbach Ford on March 7, 2025. Within 2 hours of driving it (before I even got home) it started making a loud scrubbing noise on sharp turns/U-turns. I contacted the dealership immediately and brought it in March 11. I was told they checked the differential fluid for metal shavings and would know more when they pulled the plug. After waiting, I was told no metal shavings were found. I was also told the differential fluid was "bad" and that I should drive it about 3,000 miles and the noise would go away once the fluid "ran through" the system. The noise did go away for a while. Later in 2025 the exact same problem returned. When my husband called on Dec 11 and mentioned what we were told in March, we were told the fluid was never changed and that they only checked for metal shavings and everything was good basically that there was "no issue," so nothing was done. So how does a problem disappear for months after being told to drive 3,000 miles for the "fluid to run through it," but then later they claim nothing was done because there was no issue? That doesn't add up. We asked for a loaner car since it would be almost a month away before they could "Diagnose it''. We were denied. Also, on March 8th, 2025 Before returning to the dealership, I had an ASE-certified technician ride with me, He said the symptoms sounded consistent with a differential issue and recommended a documented diagnosis. His actual wording was " I'd get my money back, if I was you" I have proof of Google records showing I was searching for scrubbing noise from car when turning on March 8th, less than 24 hours of purchase, I also have proof that on March, 11th, the service department let me know they were pulling the plug on my car. Mike Reichenbach Ford sold me a 2014 Ford Taurus that only lasted me three weeks before major problems with this vehicle. I contact Mike Reichenbach and talk to him personally over the phone about the problem that I was having with this vehicle he did nothing to resolve the problem I called Ford customer service located in Michigan they gave me a report number. They called over to Mike Reichenbach dealership on my behalf to try to resolve the problem they failed to talk to them Mike Reichenbach never offered a refund or try to fix the vehicle the general manager, as well as the sales person knew they sold me a bad vehicle. I am a second car buyer from this dealership and they don't have the respect to honor me as a second time car buyer to fix my needs.Mike Reichenbach is now playing TV commercials. Before you buy give Mike a try I say before you buy give another dealership a try he rather pay for TV commercials, which could be money to fix the vehicle that they sold to me. That was no good. I don't know what is up with them but I have been trying to call them and they won't pick up. I need an oil change and I realized last week that the tires on my right side have less tread on them. My car was hit in a high speed chase and I went to Mike Reichenbach to have my work done to my car. Julie Elvis has one of the most nastiest attitudes I have ever came across in a place of business. She won't listen you can't get a word in. I understand that she knows about cars but you when I tell you something wasn't done right don't brush me off with that attitude. My Explorer was in the shop from 5/6 to 5/23 for repairs to the electronic sensors, ( throttle actuator and PCM). After waiting on the parts for so long, and charged close to $3000, picked the car up. Now 6 months later the parts that they put in the car failed and I am looking at having to incur the same costs again. Called the dealer and can't get an answer over whether they will warrant the parts or not. Was left with little option but to go ahead with another shop to make repairs. I seriously don't even know where to begin,i have a f150 which has been several times to have 1 SINGULAR issue fixed on it and everytime i go to pick it up, im still having the same issue. When i brought my vehicle in, they also made me aware that i had a recall on my cruise control, they told me they had all the parts in they would need so i told them to go ahead and fix the recall. well when i pick my vehicle up not only is the singular issue i made them aware about not fixed, they also give me back my truck with the cruise control no longer working. you call them and can never get them on the phone, I'm convinced they start with their lunch breaks about the same time they open up until they close. ive owned other vehicles and dealt with other dealerships, This is by far the worst around here. honestly if you have a problem with your vehicle and its a ford, my best advice would be to just consider selling it than to try them!!! I took my car for an oil change Thursday, I was told I needed tires. They priced them and gave me a copy of the information. I called back Friday about 3 times leaving a voicemail because no one picked up. I called Saturday left a voicemail because no one there could order them except the person I left the voicemail with before so I left him another voicemail. I called Monday at 8:30 the person was out that day. I needed to talk to another person so I left him a voicemail. No return call. I called again and gave a woman the item number and all the information. She said the person I needed to talk to was with a customer he's return my call. It's now 3:00 and no return call. Mike Reichenback Ford service department in Florence, SC is the worse. I would not recommend them because they tear your car up and try to force you to do business with them and if you refuse their services they send you away with your car worse then when you brought it for service. Never have I experienced a diagnostic that required a part being removed only for them to break it and say that I brought it to them broke. They never explained to me what was going to take place with the diagonstic. It was not until I picked up my car i Iearned they broke my fuel pump and I was not able to get it fixed that day. I attempted to drive it home and broke down on the highway...not once but twice. I took it back for them to fix it and they claimed they fixed it but my car is still not running properly. I called to speak with the service manager Mary and she was rude and very unprofessional. She told me that since I refused to let them fix it the first time, there was nothing they would do and stated that the part was broke when I dropped it off fo the initial diagnostic. The managers are unprofessional and unreasonable. The service department as a whole is a bunch of scammers trying to take customers money after they tear up their vehicles. My vehicle was purchased from them and they still did not provide good customer service from day one. Definitely, a disappointment and I will NEVER recommend this company for anything. The ticket takers in the service department try to be the ones to diagnose what is wrong with your vehicle instead of sending it to service. I am not sure where the high rating is coming from... Either buyers have low standards or the sales team is different now, I'm hoping the latter one. They are liars & try to sell vehicles with lots of issues & cover it up. My hubby and I drove over 2.5 hours away, they knew we were coming, our bank and insurance paperwork already done. We took time off of work, gave them a 24 heads up after several DAYS of getting all of the paperwork done, all they had to do was clean it up, fill tank and fix any issues. We get there and our salesman passed us off onto a trainee saleswoman that did not know about the vehicle we were there for. It WAS FILTHY!!!! They claimed it had been cleaned, but there was dirt, dust, crud and dog hair everywhere! We were disgusted but tried to get past it. Some of the options listed were not on the vehicle. So, we test drive anyway, this was an armada platinum with a V8, kicked into it and check engine light came on and stayed on! We then found out that they knew about the check engine light and did not fix it! Pathetic! I am not sure where their standards are, but they need to go back in training. I am SURE that Mike Rechenbach does not approve of this type of sales and customer service. After driving that far and days of anticipation, you would at least think that the salesman we had would take a look at what we were there to purchase, HE WAS CLUELESS! I am so disgusted and disappointed, I would NOT recommend anyone to them! They said we had to sign paperwork, they would fix issues and clean it up and bring it to our home, but what in the world makes them think that we will sign paperwork on a vehicle that are showing issues upfront! GEEZZ, RUN! Run as fast as you can away from this dealership. I went friday morning to have my 2015 diesel f350 serviced before I drive cross country this week. Joe squeezed me in to the truck shop schedule and I was done in about an hour. Everyone was friendly, approachable and accommodating. I went home and at 530pm, I jumped in my truck to run a forgotten errand. turned the key, cranked for 1 sec, the entire dash lit up and I smelled diesel. Youd think id be leaving a bad review? NO WAY... poop happens. This review starts now.... I called the main switchboard, hoping someone was still in the truck service dept... of course not on a Friday evening. I explained to the operator that I'm a travel RN here with no friends or family for back-up help I work in ICU and am on call...She sprung into action... She called Theresa who called (my hero) Trevor... Trevor went above and beyond... Came to the campground, and connected a loose fuel line to the replaced filter and stayed 30 minutes checking the clamp and making sure there was no re-occuring problem.... Sure, it would have been better if this had gone seamlessly, but we are human and poop happens... What matters is that they made it right fast and with a smile. Returning from Florida to Canada, we stopped on Jan 28/2013 to have our Explorer serviced for the heater not working. From the spacious leather couches in the waiting room with the big screen T V the complimentary coffee, and the popcorn machine to the washroom facilities that were not only clean but smelled clean, and were cleaned during the time we were there. To the free drive to a restaurant and then picked up after lunch, and the friendly staff that took time to visit with us, one could sense the quality of this dealership. To Tim Kablick in the service department, whom I spoke with on the phone and arranged to have our vehicle looked at, and who got us in right away and then kept us updated during the day, THANK-YOU does not cover our appreciation. I will never give Mike Reichenbach Ford my service again. My husband purchased a 2013 F-150, 4 years ago. Last July, the check engine light came on. Multiple times the light appeared but whenever we called Ford, they said that if the light didn't stay on, they COULDN'T look at it. The light never stayed on for more than a day but repeatedly came on every few weeks. This all came to a head, when our truck completely stopped running, 900 miles PAST our warranty. We heard from a man that previously worked in the Ford service department, that Ford could have looked at our truck, without the check engine light on but chose not to because they are lazy. Their laziness cost us $7,000. We called the Ford Warranty department to try and dispute them not looking at our truck, thus our warranty running out. They followed up with saying they would cover $1400 of the $7000 repair. Why would they cover any of it, if they are supposedly not responsible?? We tried to dispute again and were turned down. Ford is not a helpful, honest shop, so it seems fishy that they would cover any of the repair cost. It's certainly not out of the kindness of their own heart. We then spoke with E.B. He said he would try and help us work something out. We played phone tag for A WEEK. We let him know that we could not handle a second truck payment but that if they could give us some trade in value, that might work. My husband uses his truck for his job. We have had to borrow someone else's truck for 2 weeks, while waiting on E.B. E.B's co-worker, Matthew calls us and lets us know, he has a deal! They can get us in a brand new truck, $625 a month but they won't be able to trade in our truck for anything. Why waste our time? Now they have set us back another week not having a vehicle. Did I mention that Ford Repair does not take payments? Going on a 4th week at Ford, they are now starting the repairs, which have set our family back immensely financially. What was estimated to take 1 week to repair, was now said to take 2 weeks. 4 business days in and today they can't even give us an estimated time on when our truck will be done. This company does not deserve anyone's business and I am highly disappointed at the lack of timely responses back, work ethic and overall honesty. Think twice before you consider coming to Mike Reichenbach Ford, it could cause you years of financial anguish. read more

So disappointed with this place i bought my ford fiesta there and everything was good for about 3 years. I have always drove over 30 miles to only have my car serviced by them. I have had so many problems with this car it is unreal i really wish i had never bought it. I love the car but really despise the way it drives which is horrible. I had to get my clutch replaced which they did since i was still under warranty but when u drive the car it makes the most awful grinding noise and it jerks when the gears change. Anyway i have recieved several recall notices lately so i made 2 different service appointments with this place and no response what so ever. Then i decided to call the man in the service department who gave me his card and i did but no answer so i left a detailed message about the recalls i needed fixed but again no response. So i am so fed up with them and my dad has bought several vehicles from them and he won't ever again because of the sorry way they handle things and i can promise i will never ever buy from them again cause they are undependable and only want to help if u are buying a new car. Let's address some of the "mistruths" that have been mentioned in this owners response. First, yes my wife does work for one of Mike Reichenbach's dealerships. She is actually the Service Manager for his Volkswagen shop, and even though she has devoted much of her time and work for this owner, he still had no regrets treating this deal the way he did. Imagine if you didn't have ties to him. As far as I chose this truck, correct. I found this truck on the internet, went and looked at it and told MR that I wanted to buy it. They contacted Raceway Ford and had the truck moved to them so that they could get the sale. Now for the lies that he responded. He stated that all his vehicles go through "rigorous" inspection process. How does a vehicle go through that and it is not discovered that the mileage is off by 170,000 miles and that the vehicle has been in two accidents. If that's their "rigorous" inspection I can't believe that they are still in business. Again lets remember that it is against the law to sell a vehicle with false mileage, so you would think that this is something that they would check RIGOROUSLY. Second, like I stated they did offer to buy back the truck. Of course it wasn't mentioned that they had already sold my trade in and refused my wife a loaner car while I searched for another vehicle. The whole buy back was to cover up what they had done, nobody benefited from that except Mike Reichenbach. Third, "regret having my truck"? I love my truck now that I have taken to a QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN and actually had the repairs done correctly. My truck runs great now with no issues what so ever. I am only writing these reviews to get the word out about these "Rip "em Off" dealerships out there taking people for everything they can with no regards for what's right. Forth, I signed a contract and received compensation. As stated earlier my wife works for Mike Reichenbach Volkswagen and was threatened on a daily basis being told that her job was more important than a truck. And that the letter had to be signed by the time he came back from vacation. And even still told lately that he almost had to let her go over the issues with my truck. So yes I signed a "not to sue over false mileage" release because my wife felt her job was being threatened. And I received a whole $1000 (what he thought fair) for the mileage being 170,000 miles inaccurate and the vehicle being in two accidents that were not disclosed. Let's think about that for a minute. A 2003 truck with 103,000 miles and no accidents (what I was told I was buying). And a 2003 truck with 270,000 miles and been in two accidents. $1000 difference? really? Now who would agree to that without a threat behind it? Lastly, I'll end this by stating that I have not asked Mike Reichenbach for a dime. I paid the $3000 in repairs to fix his service departments crappy work out of my pocket and still have not asked for anything. I am doing this for no other reason than to make sure everyone knows the kind of people they are and the kind of business they run. So you can believe his version of things and give him your money. It's totally up to you. But I can tell you from my wife working there that I am not their only victim. Believe me, I could tell you some horror stories about others. read more

I purchased a 2003 F250 from this dealership with what was claimed to be 103,000 miles. (Buyers order, Sales paperwork, and all finance paperwork stated this mileage.) After everything was done and the sale was finalized I had them do any needed repairs to the truck ($1600). I got the truck back from their shop after it took them almost 2 weeks to do 10 hrs worth of work and proceeded to travel to see my grand-daughter's birth. I made it just outside of the South Carolina line when the truck began pouring oil out from underneath the hood. Luckily Mike Murphy Ford was at the exit. Their techs examined the truck and found that the oil pressure switch had been damaged during the work I had done. Needless to say me and my wife missed the birth due to this. Upon arriving back in Florence I ordered a new dash cluster since the odometer was blacked out when I received the truck. When the technician replaced my gauge cluster he approached me in the waiting room and asked me how many miles did I state were on the truck. I told him that all the paperwork I had said 103,000 and he informed me that there were actually 267,000 miles on it. I approached John Burke, Sales Manager, with the situation and asked what they were going to do about it. They offered to buy the truck back for what I had paid for it but I had already invested a lot more than that in it. This dealership never once offered me any compensation for the loss of value that I now suffer due to their business practices. Mike Reichenbach called me and offered to fix a still existing water leak , that I had since their original service, and a free oil change. I reluctantly took the truck back to their shop and figured maybe this time would be better. WRONG. I had my truck returned to me with the same water leak and now the oil pressure gauge dropped to no pressure at idle. A few weeks later, you guessed it, truck won't start. When Mike Reichenbach hears about the problem, he asked that the truck not come back to his dealership. I of course had NO problem with that. I had my truck towed to Conway Ford. Conway Ford examined the truck and diagnosed that it needed a high pressure oil pump.($2700). I told them that I would get in touch with them the next day on whether to proceed or not. An hour later my wife gets a call from the service adviser. He informs her that they have gotten a phone call from above and told not to work on my truck. Mike Reichenbach then tells my wife that he will pay to tow my truck anywhere except one of the dealerships that he has ties with. Mike Reichenbach was more worried about Conway Ford finding out the issues with my mileage and the lack of quality work performed in his shop, than me being able to get my Ford truck repaired. I could have received the Ford 2 year warranty on parts and labor. I ended up taking my truck to a recommended garage owned by a mechanic that has been working on International motors for over 20 years. The mechanic examines my truck and finds that when the free oil change was done to my truck Mike Reichenbach's technician had broken the plunger that retains the oil in the filter when you shut off the truck. Not only did he break the piece and drop in into my motor, he also left the remains of the piece in the canister. When the technician who did the oil change was asked, he admitted to breaking it and leaving it in the motor. He stated that he figured that the oil pump screen would catch it. Upon removing the oil pressure regulator my new mechanic found some of the plastic pieces stuck in the seat for the regulator. This caused the no pressure at idle along with leaving me with a free flowing oil pressure system that stops diesel trucks from running. He then removed the IPR valve only to find more plastic collected all over the screen for it. After these things were replaced and cleaned I had him go over the whole motor. He found the water leak, it was a clamp that had never been tightened up when Mike Reichenbach's dealership did the original work along with other problems that were supposed to have been repaired. Mike Reichenbach Ford also decided to send their service manger along with one of their "techs" down to question my new mechanic about what was wrong with my truck. Now remember that they refused to work on it, refused to have any of TJ Johnson's dealerships work on it, but had the nerve to drive to my mechanics shop and try to get involved in his repairs. After 6 months of headaches after headache and multiple thousands of dollars spent to fix problems caused by trusting Mike Reichenbach Ford I ask that anyone who ever evens considers doing business with Mike Reichenbach Ford or his associates PLEASE, DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND RUN ELSEWHERE. Could get real personal about this company but if you doubt I can show all paperwork to back up my claim. read more
