After finding Patricia in early 2021, she had my handicap back down to a 7 in 5 months! 4) AND more importantly, for 1st time ever, I believe I'm on a path to get much lower. After being out of the tennis game for ten years or so, I decided it was time to get back in! I…read moresearched for tennis lessons around Miami and decided to give Backhand City a try. Brian offers novice and intermediate group classes throughout the week and a package of six sessions costs $225. Classes take place at Kirk Monroe Tennis Center in Coconut Grove in the evenings. The classes I attend start at 8:00 pm and last until 9:30 pm, with an optional warmup at 7:30 pm. Attendance varies but is usually anywhere from 4-8 people depending on the night. Overall, I've learned a ton the handful of times I've gone. Brian is very knowledgeable and passionate about the sport. My fellow classmates are super friendly and encouraging... I'm starting to progress and will hopefully be confident enough one day to take part in one of the tournaments he organizes. No matter where you are on your tennis journey, I'd recommend giving Backhand City a try if you're looking to fine tune your skills!

Maybe a week to hear back. Only way you can get a pickleball lesson from Brian is by signing up for a months-long commitment. Might be a great tennis resource, but if you're looking for a pickleball lesson, don't start here. Spoiler alert: it doesn't take several months to learn how to play Pickleball. Brian wasn't especially cordial, but he did offer a few other suggestions. Because it took him forever to respond, however, I had already gotten a great response from a few other places.

He took time with both of us. Gradually, he has helped us both to find our swings and the improvements have been significant. My wife was a beginner, and I was a recovering golfer who was once close to a scratch but had not played much in the prior 20 years. It's taken commitment and focus and it's been worthwhile. With three different 9-hole courses rotated daily, it never feels repetitive--but better signage would help direct players both after check-in (where to grab carts) and out on the course. The recent upgrades are impressive--the new driving range looks great, though the cost of a bucket went up. The clubhouse is also a highlight: solid food, good drinks, and attentive service. Greens and fairways are in good shape, but the bunkers need work--too many rocks mixed in with the sand. Overall, Miccosukee has championship history, solid facilities, and great value for Miami golf, just shy of that 5-star polish.

However, you can catch me here 2-4 times a week as it is one of my most favorite places to walk and look at gorgeous homes. The entire loop is about 2.7 miles which is perfect for getting to your step goal. If you don't have time (or it is too hot) to walk the entire thing, you can split it up on Granada. When it comes to parking, off of Coral Way and Cardena street there is free visitor parking for up to 2 hours. Overall, it's a great walking route that has gorgeous homes as scenery and friendly folks you will see regularly walking or running about.
