It's been like having a trusted friend one my side. The honesty, the hard work, the timely work...everything has been perfect. He knows boats like no one and can fix anything. For example, he installed new front nav lights, which were silly-expensive Italian parts molded into the hardtop. Not an easy job. My first experiences were terrific. Right off the bat I was having trouble with a Fusion radio. He played with it, and it seemed I needed a new unit. He ordered one for me. When he came back to install it he had an idea on how to fix the old one. It worked. Many people would have just installed the new one... I have since bought another boat, used, and he has completely taken care of me, many times--And it sure seems his fees are reasonable. I had my boat Haulover and then in Coconut Grove and his rates are remarkably better (but those places are expensive, yes). Jim is the best. And as I've become more of the community I've seen how respected he is in the area. Trust in Jim.

The boats themselves are outstanding: great in shallow water and very capable in rough seas. The difference is in service. Ocean Blue was proactive and responsive, even sending technicians to the dock for minor warranty items. That made ownership easy. Unique Marine, on the other hand, has been frustrating. While the staff is always polite, they seem unable or unwilling to provide on-site support. Multiple warranty issues--including an A/C pump, generator sensor, cabin leak, and now a breaker problem--required repeated follow-ups, with little action unless I involved World Cat directly. In several cases, I was told to bring the boat in, which is not a simple task with a 32' boat in the Keys. In one instance, I was told they couldn't help at all and had no referral. Bottom line: great boats, good sales teams--but post-sale support from Unique Marine has been disappointing. If service after the sale matters to you, take that into account before buying.

I offered to put a deposit right away after I was able to have the seller realize they were priced too high and they reduced their price. Unique wouldn't take my deposit via Credit Card. I had no trade in and did not need a loan on a 145k boat. They told me I had to wire the funds after which I had 5-7 days to complete the deal, yet they took a 10% deposit from someone and then it took 20 days for them to receive their loan. Total BS

My wife and I recently purchased a used (2007) trawler that Yacht Works had taken on a trade-in…read more After a successful survey we pulled the trigger and went forward with the purchase, subject to a short list of repair items (some fairly significant). While we were initially a bit disappointed that some of the items had not been repaired the day we took possession, it turned out that there were legitimate reasons for this and, in fact, they had gone above and beyond the survey list in some regards and installed some brand new equipment. We continued to run into problems with some of the systems as we got to know the boat over the next couple weeks but Yacht Works---Ryan and Hector-- attended to each of them in turn with a fantastic attitude and professionalism. The biggest problem was that the flybridge engine controls were not functioning as they should. They thought that they had repaired this but it turned out that the controls were defective and ultimately had to be sent to the manufacturer in S. Carolina for repair--all at Yacht Works' expense. We had them back in a week's time, installed, calibrated and then a successful sea trial. We were finally able to leave the marina and head down to our more permanent "home" in Marathon. I can not say enough good things about Ryan and Hector whose response to all the issues we encountered was thorough, pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. I can unquestionably recommend this company to anyone interested in a boat purchase or in need of service work.
