Expert Air A/C took over Dusty's Air Conditioning Service when Dusty retired. We had used Dusty's…read morefor a decade. I was at a loss to know where to turn. But Expert is as reliable and responsible as Dusty's. They honor the warranty from the new unit we bought from Dusty. They come out promptly, are good at diagnosing problems and getting your unit up and cooling again quickly and without unnecessary drama. Michael, one of the A/C techs, has taken care of us for years. I knew his wife and she called him at the first sign of a problem. He is friendly and excellent at what he does. He helped us choose a larger, 2-stages unit with dehumidifier when we saw or unit was underserved. We have Bern very happy with it, ad MYB budge loves it cold, but the dehumidifier keeps it from feeling damp and uncomfortable. We consider Michael like one off the family! He still works there, but at Expert. Other techs have also come out and done a great job, as well. In New Orleans, we had a number of adequate and terrible companies, but on the Northshore, we only ever needed one. I can't say enough about this company!

Had Total AC and Heating install 2 19 seer units…read more Original Price for 2 units  parts and labor was $27,000 (original signed contract attached) Approximately 9/2019 Motorized dampers were not working properly.  I called Dennis, he came out said was working fine. Approximately 3 or 4 most later, I still felt they were not working.  Again called him out and he said was working fine.  He also serviced both outdoor units at this time. Approximately May/June 2020, entire downstairs unit had to be replaced.  No reason for failure given but unit was replaced.  Still dampers were not working properly.  Master bedroom, where dampers were installed, stayed in low 60's while rest of house was above 70. April 2021, called Southern HVAC to come check system Because the system seemed to be  installed improperly, Southern HVAC made a call to the manufacture "Comfort Maker" (Richard East) as well as the local distributor, "Acme Refrigeration" (Dallas) to make sure they looked at the system before he performed any work. Both the manufacturers rep as well as the regional manager for Acme came out to my house with the owner of Southern HVAC.  This is what they agreed on: Richard East (Comfort Maker) remembers having to walk Total A/C Heat through the entire installation process including wiring schematics and thermostat installation.  He didn't have any idea of how to install system to begin with. Both units are supposed to have a certain "coated" wire to prevent any outside interference with the communication from the unit to the condenser.  That was not done Both units were improperly installed with "80% furnace" and should have installed 96% furnace" Undersized return air downstairs and no return air in master bedroom Whole home dehumidifier needed Unit on 2nd and 3rd story is a 4 ton.  Based on sq footage and being a "foam insulated" home,  there should have had no more than 2 tons of a/c installed. Due to the oversizing of the unit, it is not functioning as it should and there is enough moisture that mildew and mold is starting to form around ac vents and on ceiling in several places.  This is where my children sleep! All 3 recommend uninstalling current 4 ton unit and installing 2 ton. 1st story system,   I elected to have the following work completed by Southern HVAC: Install new 12" zone damper and pressure box for master suite Extended bypass Extend duct work from master bath and master closet Total $2125.00 I did not elect to add the return air at this time. As you will see on the original contract , I am  supposed to have a 20 year warranty on the heat exchangers and a 10 year "no hassle"  warranty on the condensers. While speaking with the Manufacturers representative, Southern HVAC was told that Total Ac did not file the required paperwork in time so the warranty was nullified. 2nd story system needs to be removed and  replaced.  I have attached a bid from Southern HVAC to complete the work for a total of $15,699.53 On 5/6/21 I called Southern HVAC again with an error on the downstairs system and upstairs was not cooling at all. Damper needed "reprogramming"  and upstairs unit was low on freon!  No leak was found Both units serviced and while outside condensers being serviced, Souther HVAC notice that a protective film that was supposed to coat the condensers and help them run efficiently had been "removed" by using the wrong chemical to clean previously. The units were only serviced one other time and that was by Total AC the prior year.  It was determined that the chemical they used to clean units damaged them and thats not repairable. Total bill this time was $563.50 Stay away from this guy. He doesn't know what he is doing and is a slob.

one thing i have to say about this company is stay away people. They are highly unproffesional…read more Every appointment I have made with these people has never been kept. Especially my last encounter with them. We made an appointment with them to come a week ago today to clean my condenser on my central air unit. They were suppose to be at our home at four. at about five we called them and they said they had an emergency and would be headed to our home in ten minutes. seven o clock comes around and still noone. we call them and they promised Saturday they would be here at ten. again no one and we call and call and later tell us by five they will be here. Again no call no show and at seven we get a hold of them and they promise Sunday morning they would be here at nine. I was called in for overtime but had to leave early to meet them at my house and guess what? NO CALL NO SHOW again for Sunday. Now i am out $150 in pay. Monday also nothing. I call the owner Denis Ard on Tuesday and explain what has been going on. He said he would look into it and call me back. Guess what two days later i had to call him. He promised me then that he himself would come and do the cleaning That day. Guess what? NO CALL NO SHOW. After all my lost time and money you think they would save a customer by coming and doing the cleaning free of charge for their unproffesionalism but they were not willing to compensate me for any of my time or lost of money so i bid them farewell. please dont put yourself where i was and look elsewhere.
