I had JUST flown into…read morePhilly from South Carolina to pick up a used car I bought online and drive it home (I know, I know..) of course...the TEMP light came on in bumper to bumper construction traffic on 95..at 10pm! No coolant/water in the radiator. After letting the car cool a bit, I limped it half a mile to the Belair exit where thankfully, I found DJ's. I left the car at their convenient drop off station with a key, a note, and a prayer that they could look at it in the am. Rick the Service Manager called me in the am to let me know they would look at it and let me know what they found. Long story short, Skip, my mechanic ran thorough diagnostics and while there was a myriad of things that COULD have been the issue, thankfully, it was just the thermostat. Skip replaced the thermostat, tested it, then refilled and bled the anti-freeze before testing it AGAIN before sending me on my way to SC same day. Service was the absolute best I have ever experienced at an auto repair shop and their price was more than fair! Rick even called me the next morning to be sure I made it back to SC alright! Take it from me, you will be doing yourself and your vehicle a huge favor by trusting Rick, Skip and the team at DJ's Car Care for your maintenance or emergency car care needs!

After waiting all day without any feedback, we finally called to inquire about our older vehicle, a 2008 Mercury Sable, did not due to an issue with a side light. The young lady proceeded to tell us it didn't pass inspection b/c it needed tires, and there was an issue w/a side light, but they were looking for the part. So not thinking it was a major problem, we had requested an oil change and said go ahead with the new tires & fix the side light. The next day rolls around and we're told they can't find the part. The car is old, so we're thinking oh my! We just spent close to $700 dollars for a car we'll have to scrap?! Why would they do the other work if they didn't have a supplier for the side light? Not feeling very confident in their response or expertise, we contacted our mechanic in NJ. Told him the issue, and in less than 3 min (no exaggeration) he knew exactly what we needed and where to get it. When we told him the shop here in MD couldn't find the part he laughed. He told us I guess they've never heard of Amazon. We were going to NJ two days later & swung by to see our mechanic. He pulled up the part on Amazon. Told my husband exactly what to order and said if they couldn't figure it out after that to bring it back to him to fix. The part was $8 bucks! Just shy of $800 dollars later & our $8 dollar part procured via Amazon, the car was back on the road. Those were all the people that he was loudly discussing while I was in there. Here was my experience 1. 7:39 my son called and asked would we be able to have the car diagnosed today (check engine light). He said he spoke to Jon who said yes. 2. I arrived at 10:37 to leave my car and I asked the woman at the counter would it be ready by 2:30. She very confidently said yes they could complete the diagnostic but probably not the repair. 3. At 3:08 I called because I had not heard anything and was told he was looking at it now and would call soon. 4. At 4:07 I could no longer wait so I went in. I was told he was "working on it" and asked if I needed the car today. I said yes I need it now. After a few minutes I realized no one was moving so I asked what was happening. Jon said he's working on it. I said I can bring it back but I have to go. He jumped up and said he would bring the car out of the garage. This is where it gets interesting! He brings my car out and they say I have to pay their diagnostic fee. I said not without the diagnostics! Seems reasonable right? So I ask what's the issue with my car. They don't know yet. Jon then says I hate people that don't want to pay. I say I'm more than willing to pay if I know the issue. He then hands me my keys and tells me to never come back. Well that won't be a problem. If you're able to avoid Jon this might be a good spot. I will never know and recommend avoiding them!
