My husband and I had decided to mount our television on the wall, but we did not like the idea of having the T.V., and other electronic cables visually exposed. We found Mike's Electric on the Classified Ad, and we are so happy that he was able to give us a free estimate over the phone for a duplex receptacle. His price is so reasonable, we decided to hire him on the spot. I cannot express enough how amicable and professional Mike is via our phone conversation and in person. His helper, Mike III was also so knowledgable, amicable, and efficient. They exceeded our expectations with their great work, and we will definitely hire them for any of our future home projects/related to electrical work. They patched the holes in the walls something that most electricians do not do. Our wall looks like no holes had ever been made. The one thing they don't do is paint the wall, but that is okay he was very specific over our first phone conversation, and I do not expect him to do so. Mike did an excellent job installing LED recessed lighting in our 14" tall family room. He proposed alternatives prior to starting the work, reviewed any potential issues, proposed solutions, and asked as many questions of us as we asked of him. He was very sensitive to our concerns about protecting our newly refinished hardwood floors. Mike encountered some issues with the old wiring, analyzed the problem, and proposed alternatives, and the advantages/disadvantages of each. He executed on our decision and, when complete, the lighting met all of our expectations. Before he installed the lighting fixtures, he again reviewed again the various settings for the LED's ensuring we were in agreement. I can only state, that should you need an experienced electrician this is the guy to hire. He delivered on our expectation, and at the completion of the job cleaned up after himself, including folding and stacking the protective moving blankets we used to cover the floor in the work area. Our painting contractor commented on how detailed and deliberate he was and the quality of the final installation. Needed two outlets on their own circuit. One for a heater, one for my "Clark Griswold" Christmas Light issues! :) Of all the electricians that responded, they were the ONLY one that would give me an actual quote. All the others would only quote hourly labor rate. I didn't need a perfect quote, just a ballpark. They came out and knocked the work out in nothing flat. The new outlet that required piping along the outside of the house, they even painted to a color that accents the house, instead of leaving it as shiny metal. These guys have experience and innate knowledge. They knew what I needed and did a great job. Their quote even ended up being what they charged me. I was so impressed with Mike and Zach--not only for the top-notch work that they did but also for their prompt response, professionalism, and super friendly personalities. I had a problem with the lights that went out in half of an apartment so I called Mike and he was here in 15 minutes. He was very friendly and thorough. He located the problem quickly. There had been a fire from an outlet behind the couch caused by a space heater. It must have flamed up and then fizzled without catching the building on fire. It wasn't noticeable because the couch was covering the burn marks on the wall caused by the flame. We remodeled our entire home and garage. Something in the circuit shorted so we called them for help. They arrived with mask on and really neat looking. We told them the problem and they get started right away. They said that there is an exposed wire that touches something that causes the short. They fixed it right away. read more
