I opted to choose a local mover, thinking people from our small town area are like family. Boy, was I wrong. The estimate given for the move was $3200, cash only, receiving half up front and the second half upon arrival ($1600 each payment). Although my dad should not have done this, he handed the full amount in cash to Ed to take his first half - Ed took $2000, stealing $400. This is just the start of the nightmare. I planned a couple extra days so that they could arrive to the new house the same day my dad would be able to get into his house. Some complications prevented my dad from getting into town the day he expected, but he notified the movers of this immediately and was able to have someone near the new house agree to let the movers in so that they could finish the job. Since my dad wouldn't be there to give the second half of the payment, he offered to leave the second half in NY with whoever Ed chose or in a check. None of this mattered. Ed berated my dad continuously. Ed stated that, by law, my dad had to be there when the movers arrived and that he had broken the contract - a contract that was never presented or signed. Ed became drunk and belligerent, calling my dad and myself multiple times, saying he was going to destroy my father's property on the side of the road and turn around unless he was paid an extra $500. Quite simply: extortion. At the end of the day, my dad ended up paying this extortionist, just so that he could get his belongings back and move on. Lesson learned to check Yelp reviews before the next move. Steer clear of Brock's Moving and Storage and Ed Simon at all costs.

They only called once and Edward has horrible communication with you. They don't show up and don't call. The guys took extra long breaks and still charge you the full price. During the move they took a pizza break and left their trash all over the parking lot, including the bottles of water I gave them. I had to clean up after they left. The truck was packed poorly. Many of my boxes were just thrown into the truck and they were crushed. I have pictures and can tell you more. Find Lisa Sieg on Facebook. Edward, the owner, doesn't give you a receipt. He handwrites a note and says he "can't add Brock's moving and storage to the note." I have a picture of his hand written note in case you would like to see how he provides receipts. I will be filing a complaint with the New York Department of Transportation, Better Business Bureau, and Attorney General's Office.

So Josh and his two colleagues phoned us on our moving day to tell us they were running ahead of schedule, and if we wanted them to come a bit earlier they could. What a pleasant surprise! Our old apartment was in the kind of sketch part of Vanier, and Josh & co took good care to make sure none of our stuff got jacked while they were moving it in. And hot damn, they were efficient! They loaded all of our stuff in like half an hour tops. When we got to our new place, the guys were equally as efficient, despite the fact that we had a lot of going up and down stairs to deal with. They never nicked the walls, and damaged nothing. They were just friendly, quick, efficient, and overall delightful. Did I mention they were inexpensive? We ended up tipping the guys twice as much as we had budgeted for because we were just so happy with them. I pray we don't have to move again for a long time, but if we do, I know we'll be calling these guys again. We would highly recommend Two Guys and a Cube Van to anyone!

In our experience with them, there's only ever been one hitch, and they made a point of rectifying the issue immediately and to our complete satisfaction--one of the benefits of working with a fully insured, honest, and ethical company. Furthermore, not only have their estimates been bang on for the three last moves we had with them, but their level of organization and attention to detail cannot be beaten. And all of that at market-competitive rates. What more could you ask for? Simply put, First Rate Movers not only live up to their name, but in my opinion, they are without equal. They are the only option for us, and I don't see that ever changing. Do you want pros? Look no further. Do you want a great price and exceptional overall value? They're your guys. And lastly, if anything does go sideways, do you want a company that will take care of you? You bet. Rest assured, they will make it right--on the spot without delay. Positively fantastic. Cheers to you, guys.

One guy showed up hung over, went around the side of our front porch and proceeded to pull his "junk" out and pee right there while the other guy just laughed. I told them to stop, and they started to try and get violent with me ( I am a 65 year old man ) threatening to "beat my ass" if I didn't shut my mouth and "stay out of their way" I stopped for fear they would hurt me. They started to load my truck by just literally throwing boxes on the back of the truck. I heard glass breaking, and one of the guys told me its supposed to sound like that when boxes hit the floor and not to worry about it, all in a raised, threatening voice and proceeded to stand there and stare at me, intimidating me. They took a break, that lasted almost 2 hours, that they told me they'd have to charge me for, and came back smelling like Marijuana and a bunch white stuff on one of their noses that I could only assume was cocaine. I had enough and called the police. As soon as they saw the police car pulling up, they both dropped what they were carrying and ran, leaving my valuables in shambles and my home a mess. The owner then called and told me I owed them 1800.00 for the work and for hassling his "workers". I told him I would call the police, and he hung up immediately. Needless to say, if you want a bunch of unprofessional drug addicts that will break or steal your items, you've come to the right place.
