I've had the great opportunity to be a customer of Mike's Moonwalk! Mike is so great to work with; and his staff are always very professional, flexible, respecful, and overall just so kind. I love that Mike's provides a variety of services, from food, to snow plowing, to party supplies. Name something and they have it for your local party or event! Mike's has an awesome and dedicated staff that can set up a food cart or bouncy house to make your party fun and easier. They come and set up everything, make sure it is 100%, and come back and pack it up--so simple!! Mike's also has a food cart in the Solomon Pond Mall that has ice cream, pretzels, smoothies, and other candies and snacks. I don't understand? I've been using Mike's Moonwalk Rentals & Backyard BBQ for over 8yrs now. I've used them for Catering ,Rentals and Entertainment services(face painting, Magic, music) everything has always been great from start to finish. They always give great customer service. The one time I had a problem was when a cotton candy machine did not work last year and once I called and let them know they had a replacement to me in 20min. Plus the delivery guy gave us extra chairs at no charge for our trouble. I seen a few bad reviews and I honestly think some people like to complain with nothing else to do and this is the best way to do that. Give these guys a call they really are the best! read more

Mike's Moonwalk Rentals was excellent to work with and I plan on using them again. I planned a community event in Worcester over the summer. Paul and Mike helped me out with a grill, generator, and dunk tank. Despite me calling them a dozen times over the process to change my order, they remained patient with me and exceeded my expectations. Everything was dropped off at 7:30, hours before my event. They would have scored at least four stars if it wasn't for their lack of customer service AFTER the sale had been made. They were nice enough on the phone, and the quote was the same as the website stated ($175 for a Ninja Turtle bounce house). We choose to pick up on a Friday. They said on the phone it was $25 if you wanted to keep it Sunday, as well. We did pick it up.. We were charged a little more than $200 for the rental and the extra day. When we brought it home and blew it up, it was filthy inside. Toys, straw wrappers, and what looked like play-doh (perhaps candy or gum) smooshed on the inside. We brought it back Monday and attempted to explain our disappointment. They heard none of it and even tried to tell us they gave us a 'discount' on the extra day. Um, no they didn't. We have the credit card receipts. We are THEIR customers and it shouldn't be OUR business to clean up THEIR products between use. We told them we had to scrub it down and they said "Thanks for doing that for us." Won't get my business again. **EDIT** To comment after their response. Extremely poor reply to a customer complaint. They should learn how to handle these situations. Stop making excuses and playing the victim. Customers should always be treated with respect. Perhaps a better response would be a genuine apology and a discussion on how you are going to attempt to make future customer interactions better with things like staff training, policy changes, etc.. It is not my fault, nor my place, to call you in the middle of my party to tell you the bounce house was filthy. And, even if I had, I have 100% confidence you would not have sent someone to come 'clean it' for us on the spot. Your "opportunity" to fix the situation came when we returned it and expressed, in person, our unhappiness. Instead, you shrugged us off. In fact, there was more than one gentleman working when we returned the unit. They both confirmed they likely did not blow up the house beforehand to check its condition. And one of your employees then turned around, walked into an office, and shut the door! Your comment on the charge was laughable. The $25 for the extra day is "a phenomenal discount as opposed to double the fee for day two" - Seriously? Your standard policy is that it's only $25 for the second day, and after you play it off like that was a 'discount'? Judging by the last few recent reviews, as well, I feel confident in my post here that customer service is not their priority at the moment. I hope things improve. Mike's Moonwalk totally saved my husbands 40th surprise birthday. I can't say enough about this company. We had booked an inflatable waterslide with another company and were told less than 48 hours before the party they could not deliver it at the prearranged time and day. This is where Mike and his crew saved the day. Not only were they able to deliver an inflatable waterslide during the narrow time window on the hottest weekend of the year but they were an absolute pleasure to work with from booking over the phone, to the drop off and set up team, to the easy breezy pick up crew the next day. I used Mike's to rent tables, chairs, and tent for my backyard wedding. Mike was courteous, patient, and flexible with all my questions and needs. I have been using Mikes for about 5 years now for my parties that we have every summer. Mike and his staff are always accommodating and have been very helpful when planning out my parties and our needs. We have rented bounce houses, grills, cotton candy machines, sno cone machines, and even had Mikes cater a party that we had for about 150 people. His staff was very friendly and a hit with all the guests including the little ones. Food was amazing. Kids loved the fried dough and fried Oreos. The magic show was one of the best that I have ever seen. Even the teenagers were intrigued and participated. Prices are moderate and the thing that I liked best is that his staff went the extra mile to make sure that everything was right and were very helpful in the setting up and taking down process. Used Mike's for a corporate casino event. It was the least stressful part of the event. Mike is really awesome to work with. He follows up with you very quickly and is incredibly responsive. He'll give you all the information you need to make the best decision and his rates are great. Paul and the other dealers at the event were amazing. Awful customer service. No call back after speaking to someone and leaving a voicemail. I called back the next day and the gentleman was very condescending. I had used them once for a party. I rented a bounce house and had them cater. I had a pleasant experience that time, but will never use them again! They have lost one customer. read more

UPDATED to add the response I got from the owner regarding my bad review. Not exactly how I would treat an unhappy customer. Leah I am e mailing you to explain a few things to you. June is our busiest month of the year and things are very busy with phones, orders, ect. You did not need to cancel your order and certainly did not need to write a bad review which can really hurt small business. You would have received a phone call to review your order before you picked up. It is very common for a person to have 5 tables and 20 chairs on one day and then add more the next day. People add and subtract items all the time as we are always making changes to peoples orders, especially in June. 1 customer had changed her order 4 times in 1 day and that is why we did not charge your credit card yet because the amount could change and it is easier to do when you pick up. When people come in to pick up they see something they may have forgot about and may add a cotton candy machine,ect. We have plenty of inventory and you would have been fine. We also could not find your invoice because our internet was down in the town and that is why it took some time. You have never been on hold for 10 or 15 minutes trying to speak to a doctors office or pay a bill? You were on hold because all of our lines were busy with customers we were taking care of at the time. You made a big deal out of something that could have easily been taken care of. A lot of companies would have charged your credit card for you cancelling so close to your date of rental. We held that order for you and you cancelled last minute on us. Our policy is you have to cancel 21 before your date or your credit card would be charged but I did not do that. I pride myself in giving great customer service and would hope you can retract or edit your review and possibly give us another chance. I called them back to question it and after being on the phone for 15-20 minutes they finally found my reservation. They said they would enter it in the computer and I would be all set, no deposit necessary. The following business day, someone called explaining they had my invoice but their were no notes or CC#" At this point I was frustrated as I didn't understand why this was becoming more difficult than ordering a catered meal for 30 people. The person calling was very rude in her response when I explained why I was frustrated and worried about my reservation. In the end she just asked that I check the invoice and let her know if I had questions. I opened my invoice shortly after the phone call and they had me down for ONE table and 30 chairs. This invoice had been entered into the computer by one person and reviewed by at least one more; but neither caught the glaring mistake? Even if they didn't notice the table number, they should have noticed a big price discrepancy. At this point I was worried the table and chairs would not actually be available when I went to pick them up so I cancelled the reservation. read more

Mike's Moonwalk Rentals came highly recommended by several local people, as we are new to the town of Boylston. As soon as I came in contact with Mike for our back yard wedding arrangements, I knew we have the right people. He was extremely professional, helpful in directing us and advising us (our first big party, about 100 people +). It was such a pleasure dealing with him and his workers. He always returned my phone calls, found answers and went above and beyond in helping us. Everything was delivered on time; Mike gave us some great recommendations and made arrangements for things they don't provide (like portable toilets). Needless to say, our guests told us it was the best party ever!!! Food was out of this world too. Mike's steak tips, chicken, hamburgers, fried Oreos and fried cheese cake were the top of the talk even among our most sophisticated guests. I can't say enough good things about Mike and his company. This review is only for their food. My daughter and I split a fried dough from there today which looked more like a large piece of bread. Hours later, both of us had stomach aches and other side effects that I won't go into detail with. It must be the oil they use. I've eaten MANY fried dough in my life and I've never got sick from one before. Also, the people before and after us who ordered hot dogs received some very burnt dogs. I'm writing to say how happy we were to have the inflatable jousting at my boyfriend's surprise 30th birthday party! Not only did they include the jousting sticks, but they also included two massive pairs of boxing gloves. From 4 years old to 55 years old, everyone had a blast. Mike was very responsive to my emails and phone calls, and his employees were very helpful as well throughout the entire experience. I called Mike's Moonwalks and spoke to the owner personally. I had a last minute emergency. I was planning a corporate party for my company and the vendor that I had originally hired was unable to accommodate the necessary requirements in time. I found Mike's Moonwalks through Google reviews and thought that I would give it a shot. I told them that I would need a certain amount of tables, chairs, and tents, along with bouncy houses for employees' kids. Mike not only supplied them at a great price point, but he also had staff to provide food (Italian sausages, chicken sandwiches, fried dough, fresh squeezed lemonade) and entertainment- Paul the Magic Guy. This past week I had a couple of parties back to back that we were hosting for 2 of my kids schools (cast party and end of year party) because I was "sponsoring" them, I was a little price sensitive although thought if I could get something fun for a reasonable price I'd do it. Mike and Paul were GREAT! They both worked with me to identify a really fun inflatable that all the kids enjoyed and they worked with me to give me a great deal. When the guys came to do the set up (Shaun and Alex), they could not have been more customer focused making sure everything was in great working order and confirming over and over that I was happy with all they did! These guys really wanted to make sure I was 100% satisfied with everything and just nice guys! The one small critique I will give is to first person who I spoke with (Mandy) she could use some better training,lose the ego and perhaps learn from these other 4 who really get what customer service is they gave 150%!!! If this had been last year or within the last couple years, I would have given this company a high rating. This year though, their service has been disgraceful. My mother holds a large cookout and over the last few years we've rented many things, per cookout, from this company. The company has always been helpful, polite and clean. What happened? We had a dirty cotton candy machine, a broken grill and an okay moonbounce delivered. We kept the cotton candy machine (and cleaned it ourselves) and the moonbounce, but sent the grill back. This year we had to go out and buy a grill (the day before the cookout) because the grill that was delivered was in atrocious condition. It was missing many knobs and the few that it did have did not belong to the grill, the frame was falling apart and the gas lines were melted. We were afraid the damn thing was either going to fall apart of explode! I'm not even exaggerating; it was that bad. We told the gentleman delivering that we didn't want the grill and had them take it back and they promised a refund. We called the company right after they left and whoever answered the phone was quite rude. He agreed to the refund since we were not keeping the grill, but had the nerve to say that they inspect everything before it goes out and that it was fine. After about 3 was I called because we had not received the refund. I was told that they were sure that it was put in, but that they would check and put it in if no one had, but it usually takes 4-5 weeks to go through. It's been almost 12 weeks and still no refund. We never even recieved an apology. We can deal with a little hiccup, but after this year's service, we are taking our business elsewhere. We are so very disappointed.
