It must have been my very lucky day when I found this team on line. April was our contact and she was fabulous!! Given that I was totally new to planning an outdoor wedding, her suggestions were spot on and the ceremony and reception tent were the absolute perfect fit. She has worked before with the team at the Loring Greenough House in Jamaica Plain and was very familiar with the grounds and setting. She DID NOT oversell the size of the tent or the wedding seating which was then transfered to the tent for seating around the small round tables and dance floor. She even recommended a heater for the tent which was absolutely a saving move given the slightly chilly and a bit rainy day we experienced. We worked closely with Gino and his father, Mike, for our wedding this past weekend. Come Rain or Shine provided us with our gorgeous tent (complete with walls and string lights) as well as our chairs, tables, dance floor, and heaters. I spoke with Gino and Mike many many times over the phone as we approached the final weeks of our wedding planning, and each time on the other end of the line I was spoken to by such a kind, responsive, organized, and just all around professional guy; ready to help out and put my mind at ease. We were allowed to make any changes necessary right up to the DAY OF when the weather shifted and we had to have an emergency delivery of an extra heater for our tent! Gino was very helpful and responsive when we used them for our wedding last weekend. We had 50 mph winds that did some damage at the site, but the tent stayed up and gino came out to check that it would be stable for the wedding. Multiple guests told me that the lighting in the tent made it look like a movie "and not one of those B rated ones... More like one with an Oscar nomination or two" haha. But it really was beautiful. Gino at 'Come Rain Or Shine' made our baby shower possible. A last minute decision was made to hold the party outdoors, and I suddenly needed 40 *nice* white chairs and a long table. The reason I called 'Come Rain Or Shine Tent Works' was because they had a nice website and were local in Framingham. The reason I chose to work with them - really, to TRUST them - was because they were 100% responsive to phone and email. They made me feel like they wanted to make me happy, and I didn't need to worry. Their prices were moderate, they were a pleasure to work with, and they arrived early. I'd like to preface this review with saying that I always try to give anyone I encounter the benefit of the doubt and as you'll see in my profile I tend to prefer writing positive reviews. However, given my experience with this company and Mike and after reading this other review (which I SO wish I had read prior to hiring these guys!) I could not stand on the sideline and not say something if only to spare others from a bad experience. We picked this vendor for our wedding because their prices were lower than other vendors in the area and we wanted to stay within our budget. We got what we paid for. (While it was less than what other vendors ask for, considering what we got it was not cheap!). The first hint of poor customer service, and a bit of shadiness, came when I asked for some more close up and clearer photos of the tents and lights, which this vendor could not provide and only mentioned that I should go out of my way and see an actual tent a different site to get an idea. Second, we wanted cocktail lights, but got Christmas lights (!!!). If the website had better photos, I would have known, and would have never agreed to the Christmas lights, but not at any point in our correspondence did Mike make it clear that these are Christmas lights NOT cocktail lights which is what he calls them on the website. Very misleading!!! When I expressed this he offered a BS response saying he used to have the bigger cocktail lights but threw them out because they were too bright (mind you these lights are popular BECAUSE they give a soft ambiance to any space.) Third, I reminded him at least twice that we wanted white center poles, but we ended up with green poles. When I pointed this out all I got was silence. In retrospect I would have paid much more just to have better customer service, and get what we actually asked for. In the end, when I tried to express (in a very nice and calm way) that I was not happy with the above all I got were excuses. Since there was no way to turn back time or remedy the situation ALL I was looking for was an apology... A little deference to a customer who was unhappy with the product and service she received. I got none of that, just some BS excuses, Mike being defensive, and silence. If Mike had any business acumen, he would in the least have given me some sense that he understood my frustration and apologized. He also would say thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts so I keep improving my services. Perhaps then, I would not have been so compelled to write this review. As anyone who is planning a wedding knows, you want everything to be impeccable, especially because you only get one shot. It makes me sad that we didn't get what I had dreamed up and hoped for in terms of the ambiance, but in the end what's important is that we all had a blast. AWESOME! First, they were less expensive than the company we used for 4-5 years for an annual charity event! Gino did a site visit with me a couple of months before the event, then brought "his guy" for a visit the day before. They arrived when promised, set up where I detailed the previous day, and were leaving less than 2 hours later after setting up a 30 x 7' tent with water barrels and delivering almost 100 chairs and 25+ tables! Oh, the venue threw us a curve-ball about 10 days before the event- couldn't stake the tent. Gino worked with me to come up with a tent that would satisfy our needs and the venue's as well! read more

Gino was so responsive and great to work with as we planned a large wedding reception! As our wedding vision changed, he was very communicative and sent us various ideas and changed quotes with exactly what we were looking for. Due to personal circumstances as well as COVID, we ultimately did not use Come Rain or Shine Tent Works because we did not have our large wedding and reception. Awesome service. We were thrilled with Come Rain or Shine. Gino was super responsive and flexible in helping us choose a tent and location for the tent at our farm wedding. He also helped us with the layout inside the tent and was able to provide lights, chairs, and tables. The set-up crew was quick, courteous, and helpful. And, most importantly, the tent was beautiful, secure, and perfectly sized. The pricing was also significantly more affordable than many tent suppliers in the area. I wish I could give 10 stars! We've been using them at our company for a few years now. We had another tent that had collapsed on our inventory in a snow storm and I called 7 other tent companies looking to rent and they all said no either it was too short notice or they didn't want to set up in the snow. Gino got us a tent the next day!! His crew are awesome, mainly Matt, they set up and take down super fast. A wind storm ripped a hole in our tent once and I called and later that day Matt was outside repairing the tent and then tied down all the sides to the ground. He left me with extra zip ties in case I needed them. Gino didn't even charge us for the rip. Very friendly and accommodating! This is customer service at its finest. Zero stars! Gino clearly doesn't know how to provide customer service or run a business. I contacted multiple vendors for quotes through yelp in October. He provided me with one. A quote is just that, a quote. It's not a contract or a commitment. He scolded me for not replying back. When I asked if he wanted my business or not, he caught an attitude and said no. I hung up. He did call back and leave a message apologizing but the damage was done. Can't trust a hot head to come through for an important event. No thank you! read more

If I could have a .5 rating, I would give it that. This company is unprofessional and a bunch of cheats. Mike seems all friendly and client oriented at first, but don't be fooled. If you do not want a certain sized tent, he will charge you an extra $1500 just to take it down. You ask for quotes and all you get is a price list of things you don't want. Then he complains that you didn't sign the quote (price list). Also, don't believe the pics you see on the sight, chances are, if they look really nice a "decorator from New York did that, we only put up the lit lanterns." My husband and I were forced to use Come Rain or Shine because of the deal they had with the venue we chose for our wedding. They keep the tent up all wedding season and will not change it out. Instead, you can divide the tent with an ugly white plastic sheet that was not even straight. Here's how it all went down from the moment we met: We met Mike at the venue for a viewing of his tent and what the company provides. They allow for people to split the pricing of the tent so that it costs less overall. He was very personable and told us to call or email him any time with questions. I had some questions emailed to him because that's the best form of communication. What do I get for answers? "Call me." After over a week, I got some of my answers. We cannot switch out the tent unless we pay $1500 extra to take down the one we did not want. SCAM much? After a few more questions answered, I expected him to send me a quote like all the other rental companies did, but nothing. This sort of communication went on for months. Finally he says that he can't help unless we sign the contract. I asked him what contract because I have not seen anything written up. He then sends me a price list of his supplies and services. So I deleted all the services that we did not require and he complained that we changed it and told me to sign the original one that he sent and that he understood that people may change their minds later about what they want for their event. He just wants everyone to be happy. He said that DJs usually want a separate power supply so that they don't run into a power surge. I told him I would think about it. He told me that he would get in contact with me the week before the wedding. DID NOT HAPPEN! Instead, he kept the lights that we did not want and told his electrician to just not turn them on. My husband was furious since we specifically told him that we did not want any of those lights. He told the electrician to take it all down, which he did, but the response to that was that we will be charged extra labor. A few days later, Mike calls me and lectures me about paying him. Well...there was no bill. He then lied and said that he gave it to my husband the day of the wedding. Mike was not even there! Only the electrician was. Mike emails me the bill with a lighted entrance and DJ power supply on it. I went through the entrance, there were no lights. I talked to the venue person before the wedding to ask about the power supply and was told that no special power supply was needed. My DJs set everything up themselves using their own extension cords and plugged into the same power supply that the lights were plugged into. They also told me that they would give that to me in writing. So we called and emailed him for over a week before he got back to us. Mike's answer: The lights were plugged in a separate area outside of the tent and that the power strip the DJs used was the separate power supply. He was not going to take that off the bill. But he said he would take the lighted entrance out. So again, I waited to be sent a new bill. He calls a week after to lecture me about how "in so many years of business, I have never not been paid. It's been 3 weeks." To that I said, I know you talked to my husband, and I am waiting for the new numbers so I could write the check. By now, we are so fed up with him and the company that we will just pay and get him out of our hair for good. He said that he took care of that. But I am as I type still waiting for the amended bill. NEVER will I use them again. I would have rather paid the take that tent down and used another company altogether. read more

I could not be happier with the tent, tables, and chairs we rented for our wedding from Come Rain or Shine. But I am most pleased with the impeccable customer service we experienced throughout this process from Gino and his team. Gino was very accommodating as the various number of items we rented were updated as our headcount became more firm. Our setup was also on the more complicated side from what most would expect and Gino's team worked diligently to ensure our vision came to life. We have used Come Rain or Shine multiple times for various weddings and events we have hosted at our home. We will continue to use them going forward; you just can't find customer service like this company provides very easily. read more

They did our wedding, brought a brand new tent exactly on time, and removed it exactly on time, and it was the model, size, and configuration ordered. So, zero problems from us. We did tent-only through them. One note: find out what the local permitting fee is for your municipality to put up the tent for an event; the price in Jamaica Plain was more than we were expecting (over $250 for a not gigantic tent). But, that is the government's fault. read more
