Took my riding mower and rototiller last fall for repair. Spoke to them end of December 2025 was going to add a different part to lawn mower. They never got make to me . Went to check on the mower and rototiller early March. They said they had an estate sell and sold them. Said they have a 30 day policy to pick up your repairs up. Never was told that by anyone when I spoke to employees several times. They never called. They had both my phone number and my wife's. Had a a receipt with nothing about a 30 day policy. No stars. They sell "brand new" cub cadets that sit outside all day everyday. Would not give me the mower inside they gave me the display model. I paid 3500 dollats on a rusted bolts, rusted frame, after a week the battery is dead. Picked it up after and it was backfiring. Mike told me to put sea foam in it. What a bunch of bullshit. After that it would only start with a choke on. They would not take it back after this. Mike is a crook and does not stand behind is product or his workm avoid this place, I had to take to a real repair shop to get it fixed on my own dime. read more

On May 23 I went in to Mike's Mowers after calling MANY mower repair shops and getting NO response from anyone. My mower hadn't been used in many years and just need to be cleaned up and tuned up and it should be good. Mike's returned my call and simply said, bring your mower in and we will take a look. Later that day, I brought the mower to Mike's and asked for the mower to have a general tune up, clean it up, sharpen the blades and just make sure everything is working well. I paid an express fee of $50 to get the mower looked at sooner rather than later. They called me later the same day saying it was ready to go and I could pick it up anytime before 6pm. When I arrived to pick it up I was told they did a carb job on the mower and it was now working. After I paid the bill of almost $300, we went outside to get the mower. My mower is a key electric start mower and the person helping me went to start the mower up by pulling the cord. I asked immediately, why can't you start it with the key? She said oh, I didn't know it was a key start. It is supposed to start like a car, by turning the key. That still did not work. The mower would run by using the pull start, but they didn't fix the key start. They also did not clean the mower, sharpen the blades or look over anything else, simply a carb job. Following this incident, I learned that a carb job is no where near $300 to perform. I also learned after the fact that this job should not have taken long. The mower is like new even though it is not brand new. Now the electric start still does not work and in fact the box where the electric start is now falls apart. ????? After learning this, I realized, this shop saw a single woman coming to their shop and decided to take advantage of my lack of knowledge of small engine repairs. While Mike's was fast and returned my mower the same day ...I feel like I didn't get everything I asked for and yet paid a HUGE premium for the one thing they did do! Taking advantage of women customers is an old school bad behavior that I thought was gone in 2024 .... CLEARLY at Mike's Mowers they see you coming a mile away and make sure to capitalize on it. DO NOT GO TO MIKE'S MOWERS!!! I will NEVER go back!!!! read more

I got my mower back today and left the garage open for Mike to put it in and put the bags back on. Instead of coming to the door to let me know he was here, he dropped the mower off at the top of the driveway. I'm 74 years old and am having hip replacement on Thursday and can't get on the lawnmower to move it much less put the bags on. I had to call my neighbor to come help me. Very unprofessional. Mike also told me if I didn't pay the express fee of $50 in addition to the cost of maintenance, he would keep the mower and sell it. Very unprofessional. read more

While he was looking over my weed eater we were chatting and I could see why he's so successful with a lot of great reviews. He showed me how to fix the problem going forward. Mike is a very nice person that we highly recommend. He picked up our riding mower and was able to service and returned it in the same day (for a small additional rush & delivery fee.) The mower is 14 years old and this was the first time it's ever been serviced (it had finally stopped working.) It now rides and cuts like new! On 2-16-24 at approximately 2:00 i called this business to get information on my mower that the business failed to call me back about. the owner answered, i explained who i was and which mower was mine. i began to tell the owner that the receptionist had not called me back about the details on his quote left on my voice mail. i was unable to complete a sentence due to the owner talking over me and stating he left me a message. after many attempts to explain to him what information i needed prior to making a decision about the very expensive repair i asked the owner why he was being " short " with me. at this time is when the owner began screaming at me about accusing him of being short with me. he told me to come get my S**t. He then explained to me how much of a F**king puke of a person i was. Again after several attempts to get the information i needed the owner hung up on me. Due to my close proximity to the repair shop i drove over to discuss his hostility toward a customer that didnt receive a return phone call with pertinent information needed to make a sound decision. when i arrived i introduced myself and he immediately began cursing at me. The owner called me "A Piece of S**t" , "A F**king punk". The owner then began telling me to get the F**k out of his business, my mower was going to be left on the corn at the end of the day if i didnt come and get it. I again attempted to calmly explain the situation and that this has been blown way out of proportion and was unable to finish any of my sentences. The owner actually stood up from his chair and began baby talking to me. the owner also walked over to me and stood nose to nose and told me that he was not a man i wanted to F**k with and told me to get the F**k out for probably the 30th time. I then exited the business and came back and retrieved my mower. The owner of this business is extremely unstable and i would go as far as to say dangerous. all of this was due to the owner having a bad day and being accused of "being short". this experience blew my mind. also the receptionist that was supposed to follow up and call me back with the information sat there and NEVER spoke up and let the owner know she dropped the ball and didnt call me back. i will give this business ZERO stars Daniel Lando read more

I took my mower in about 3 weeks ago. I know Mike was busy, but he helped me unload my mower so he could take a look at it. He went ahead and fixed it on the spot. He helped me load it back up and strapped it down for me. It runs great. I definitely will be back and highly recommend this place. read more

We bought a mower here, I ran the damn thing so out of gas, it clogged or something... I don't know. My fault. Took it in this morning before work planning on leaving it for several days- but he *did not catch his name, Owner?* He fixed it in less than 10 minutes, loaded back up for me and I was on my way. I asked what I owed and he said "Nothing. I take care of my customers". Hopefully this review is a bit of a payment for this business and this gentleman's customer service. Thank you! read more

Hey all, I hate it when people try to rip you off. Eva had her lawnmower worked at Mikes small engine in hillyard,, as it would run for awhile then quit. They charged her to sharpen the blades, change oil ($79.) and charged her more for a air filter (7.95). Started it back up and said all is good. first time we tried it it ran then quit, just like before, They told us to bad but they could charge us another $79 to try again. read more

I was looking for a new small engine repair guy. I live north but have rentals in town and Mike's location would be easier. I went to Mike's and was quoted a price and a time when my snowblower welding repair job would be finished. I called on Monday to see if it would be done on Tues. as agreed. Nope, they had other customers come in who paid extra for a rush job. It was finally finished on Friday for double the price I was quoted. Then I waited while they finished the job properly. I needed to service my mower, I found Mike's online. I took on Friday 12:45, the employee was AWSOME! sold me on a $10 48 hr. guarantee. Hadn't heard back from Mike's, I made a call at 12:04 Tuesday, they said should be done in a couple of hours and at 4:04 I got the call, it's done. I picked up the next day and was being helped by Mike. He ran off the charges including the express charge. I said you can forget about the express and his response, I quote " I love it when people come in here and tell me how to run my business" and told me I needed to be nicer. I'm sorry I was simply pointing out that the deadline has passed and I am not going to pay for something that didn't happen. He wouldn't stop he kept berating and cussing, then I said all I want to do is pay and get the F... out of here!!! I tried to de-escalate, he followed me out in the yard chirping at me, then wanting me off his property, yadda yadda yadda, to add the kicker he made a gay joke and I was done. While I loaded up my mower, I had to listen to this jerk talking to his employee on what a big tough guy he was... excuse me while I clean the vomit out of my mouth. I am pretty easy going and let most things roll off my back, but this hit me wrong, so much this is my first complaint ever! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS read more

I've had a mower, trimmer, edger and a chain saw serviced here. Mike has done a great honest and fair job on all of them.

This place is located right where it needs to be...Hillyard!! $4 in parts (spark plug) cost $103. That's $97 labor because they use the word "rebuild" to fix everything. Rope came off starter, let's rebuild it. Little water in carb, had to rebuild it. Snowblower would not have even sold off their lot for $103!! Old owners where much better!! read more

Poor, They had trouble figuring out what the problem was with my saw the gave it back two times saying it was good... not the case. the third time they figured out that it was a broken fuel line. But let me tell you they patched it with a piece of garbage. It should have had a new pick-up line, but they cut and patched... The line fell off the second time I used it but here's the kicker the first time I used it it blew out the magneto because they had put a non-resistor plug in a resistor system and blew the magneto. $80 for a new one... I put it on myself... I called him twice about the magneto no return phone call... I wasn't that upset about the magneto, anybody can mix up plugs, but when you patch something that needs to be fixed, it makes me disappointed. And YES the wrong plug can burn up a magneto... do some research! The piece of garbage I referred to was a piece of new cheap fuel line that had already turned rock hard and he spliced it with a barbed connector that was too small and would not stay in the piece of the pickup tube that should have been replaced. Cut and patch. The line/pick up comes as one piece for a reason... to make it right would have been to return my phone calls... read more

Moved to Spokane 9 months ago. I was helping a senior citizen in our church to mow her yard. Her next door neighbor was mowing her yard and was wearing an oxygen container. Her lawnmower was chewing up the grass because the blade was very dull. I told her that i could mow the grass for her, no charge. After finishing the mowing, I told her I would get the blade sharpened for her. On the way home stopped at Mike's Mowers . The worker there name J, sorry forgot the name but it was not Joel, said that the store closed at 6 PM and it was 4:30 PM. He then said if I could wait a few minutes he would sharpen the blade and I would not have to come back the next day. He did a great job on sharpening the blade and he was quick. read more

this bum keeps my lawn mower for a month tells me it would be $30-$35 to get my mower to start doesn't call me to get authorization on what my mower need and claims it needed a new starter and air filter and a oil change when came by the shop a tech told me she put in a "used" started and my bill rose from $30 to $177.10 on a $150.00 lawn mower! took him to sm. claim court the judge sided with me on the issue that he should have called me stating what need but the judge LOW-BALLED me on the value of my mower and says he can't enforce him to give back my mower so i only received $35 for my trouble! wouldn't recommend this guy for anything!! read more
