Mike repaired my machine quickly and his price was very reasonable. I will call him again if one of my machines needs repair.

I was having new floors put into my home. In order to do that, my appliances had to be disconnected and reconnected. I called Mr. Appliance and they said sure. What I didn't know at the time is that the company now has set fees for dealing with appliances independent of job or size. So, for example, to move (twice) my fairly small wine chiller--2x3 feet--was over 600.00. They moved my microwave, which I had not asked for, and charged me over 300.00. All told, to move a fridge, wine cooler, microwave, dishwasher and stacked washer and dryer, Mr. Appliance charged me 2612.00. I should add that a friend--we had to be elsewhere for our floor replacement--watched all this work. None of it, except for moving the refrigerator was difficult and most was accomplished in minutes. I tried to get Mr. Appliance to work with me on the onerous fees but they did not. There was no appeals process nor were they especially interested in my concerns. So, DO NOT USE Mr. Appliance unless you are clear on what you will be charged before they come. Their prices are, at least for what I had done, insanely high. (And the fact that the payment screen asks that you tip is just too extra.)

The seller paid him…read moreand he said the job was complete but when I moved in there was an inch of sitting water in the dishwasher and it will not drain or cycle through. I left Chris multiple messages but now his phone is out of service. My realtor tried to call, the seller's realtor tried to call, the seller tried to call and no one has received any response. CHRIS, if you are out there please come fix the project that you started. This is extremely unprofessional and getting ridiculous. I have been waiting for weeks.

I wanted to post about my recent experience with C & G Appliance Repair as a bit of a warning to…read morefolks. First off, there seem to possibly be 2 appliance repair companies with that name. This one lists an address in Timberlake, NC and a phone number of 919.433.7924. On August 19, I had an appointment with Chris to come look at my refrigerator. The ice maker has really not been working since I moved in in May, and the water flow from the dispenser was very weak. He showed up as scheduled, and told me the ice maker needed to be replaced, and that we should also replace the water filter. He had to order parts and would come back the following Tuesday to complete the repair. Now, this is where I acknowledge my own mistake - I paid by check up front for the parts and his initial visit. No need to tell me I shouldn't do that - lesson learned. In any event, I paid him $230. He had given me a window of 2 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday to do the repair. By 5:00, when I had not heard from him, I called and left a message. At 6:00, I called again. No call back, he just never showed. I tried to call several times after that but kept getting voicemail. I finally got a hold of him several days later. He told me he had had a family emergency and was on his way to UNC Hospital and was going to get back to me as soon as he was able. I told him I had been concerned that I got scammed and he assured me that I hadn't. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and told him I hoped that everything was going to be ok with his family. Another week passed. No call from him. The next time I tried to call, his phone was completely offline. The message I received indicates that it was a pre-paid and there were no more minutes on the phone. I tried over several days, hoping he would just reload it, but that has not happened. I am now convinced my $230 is gone. So I am posting a review on Yelp and Google Reviews, and notifying folks on the listservs to which I belong. I will also be filing a police report. I will happily update this message if I hear from him, but I am not hopeful that I will. And I would have happily waited as long as necessary for the repair if he had just contacted me and let me know what his situation was. But now it looks like I will be ordering the parts and doing the ice maker installation my own self. Thanks. - J UPDATE: I have received some additional information and might have been too hasty in airing my suspicions. I did not think I "rushed to judgment", but perhaps 3 weeks is not that long if there is a real health emergency. I will update eventually with details as the situation merits. To be clear, I had not yet contacted the police. I wanted to wait a while before I pulled that trigger. I'm glad I did.
