The whole process took about 2 hours. I took a Tylenol 30 minutes before my appointment as recommended in the pre-care instructions. First, Jenny drew on my eyeliner and confirmed it was the look I wanted. Next, she had my close my eyes and applied numbing cream to my upper lash line. I laid there for about 20 minutes and then she came back and gently scratched the upper lash line and applied more numbing cream and I laid for another 20 minutes. The actual tattooing portion wasn't exactly painful, but was highly unnerving because there was a tattoo gun on my eyeballs. I felt fine for most of it and only really felt pain toward the end when she was doing the finishing touches on the outer portion of my lash line (the inner corners and middle of the eye weren't painful whatsoever). I think this was because after having been gone over once the eye was more sensitive during the final touches. After the procedure she gave me an ice pack and I kept them on my closed eyes for a while before leaving. I would say that the two days after are the most uncomfortable part of the experience because your eyes are swollen. I iced them on an off the rest of the day the day of and as needed the following two days. She said it would be a bit swollen for the following day and then would be better, but for me it was more like 3 days until my eyes felt truly normal. I would recommend getting a cooling gel eye mask that you can wear the day or 2 after for simplicity. The days after aren't so bad you need to ice constantly and I think if I had had a cooling gel eye mask in my fridge I would have just used that to soothe the swelling. It's been 2 weeks since my procedure now and I've gotten fully accustomed to the look. It's soo nice that I look put together even when wearing absolutely no makeup. For the most part my daily makeup routine is just mascara and some lip balm or gloss so I loveeee not having to apply eyeliner. I'm also able to apply eyeshadow right over my eyeliner if I want and it will still show through. I've only actually drawn over my eyeliner once because I was going for a dramatic look. I would definitely recommend a natural look that you can play up if you want. Great experience overall! :)

it's the year 2008, a week before senior pictures. you're walking around the mall with your mom,…read morewindow shopping, laughing, bonding over auntie anne's. you're thinking 'life's good' - hold on to this feeling, you won't know it for much longer. your mom decides nows a good day for a first eyebrow wax. it will be your last. you will only allow yourself to be scorned just this once. you're young and you don't know any better and you trust your mother to have your best interests at heart. you're in and out of the salon in under five minutes. you're stunned that in so little time you are able to experience such terrible atrocities. after some blood, tears, and over a decade of self-inflicted pain via the tweezerman's that reside in your makeup bag, you decide it's time. i found jimin via instagram after literal years of researching (microblade vs. powder, prices, pre/post care, artists, etc.). her work looked amazing, the price was right, i scheduled an appointment. jimin is an angel with the hands of an artist. she will meticulously draw out every single possible style of brow she can think of in order to decide which matches your face best, a gesture i didn't need to ask her to do but appreciated so very much. i can't begin to tell you how safe you will feel in the hands of someone like jimin, who will obsess over your brows just as much as you do. after agreeing on a shape, perfecting the outline, and setting up the materials, the actual microblading begins and it seems to go by pretty quickly. jimin works fast and is very gentle. she made me as comfortable as one could possibly be while having a sharp blade dragged across their brows repeatedly. honestly though, the results are absolutely worth the mild discomfort. to go to anyone other than jimin to get your brows done would be such a disservice to yourself. during the age of the face masks, minimal (as in none) makeup prep has been my preferred form of self care. thanks to jimin, i can continue to do absolutely nothing to my face prior to leaving my home and STILL have brows that absolutely slay.

I just had my consultation and they handled my body with care and were extra careful with the stitches I have and worked around the area. In all my visits, never has any staff member made me uncomfortable or violated in anyway. The entire staff is absolutely wonderful. They always treat me with respect and listen to my concerns. They educated me on all the post-op care I need to partake in to ensure the most optimal results. Having done my surgery in another country, they take my doctor's concerns and request into consideration when I tell them, and my doctor is very comfortable with all the information that I provide to him from them and vice versa. Although that person did a good job, I started following Tuull on social media around that same time and knew she would be the next artist I went to once I was due for a touch up. The person that first did my brows did a good job keeping things conservative (which I appreciated.) But at the one year mark, the work had shrunken and faded enough that it only looked a tad different from my natural brows so I went to Borte for that little extra razzle dazzle. It was super easy booking online and during our consultative visit, Tuull walked me through some options, asked me lots of questions and even sketched different stylistic approaches on my brows to then go home and think about. I then returned for my follow-up appointment and since then, two more touch up appointments over the past couple of years. She is a total pro and really knows what she is doing. My brows now frame my features in a much more defined way and it's freeing to not have to do my brows daily and still enjoy their framing once I wash my face or go swimming. I don't know if this is still the requirement. My tattoo session did get pushed back another week because the artist was quiet busy so that was not too exciting, but I was understanding.
