We were all in on Mikkeller in Denmark, visited this and War Pigs. I liked this location better, it was a really nice little neighborhood taproom. The beers are delicious - I especially like the Berliner Weisse, as I go for low ABV beers, and not IPAs. That said, I had a Mikkeller IPA and liked it - it was nicer than the super pushy American IPAs. Love the atmosphere here, very hygge with the candles and all. Guys behind the bar were really friendly and helpful as well. Will return next time in CPH! read more

It would be very hard for me to rate a Mikkeller bar under 5 stars. The beer is overwhelmingly good (there are always a few duds, but the good far outweighs the bad). This bar had a very friendly bartender and outdoor seating across the street. We ordered a pizza from a few doors down and then enjoyed beers outside while waiting for our pizza. Pizza ready.... and brought it over to eat while we kept drinking. Genius! I highly recommend this spot. This is such a cool, quaint little spot. There are many, many beers on tap to choose from and I even spotted a cider and a wine for those who aren't fans of beer. As with many other breweries, there weren't many food choices, but I imagine you could bring your own and they did have potato chips available (we had the tomato and they were divine). The bartenders are very helpful and are happy to offer suggestions if you get completely lost staring at all of the choices. It's also helpful to note that the beers are color coded by type and the key to the system is listed to make your life a bit easier. There is plenty of seating and 2 restrooms provided- one with a toilet and a separate one with a urinal. In addition to the plentiful seating indoors, you can choose to take your beer across the road to sit outside on a nice day. This is a great spot to hang out! read more

When I was planning out my trip to Copenhagen, it was unofficially going to incorporate a beer tour. Or really, a Mikkeller tour. Though we are fortunate enough to have a Mikkeller in SF, it's definitely a different shade from those in Copenhagen. I enjoyed the Mikkeller and Friends location more than the one in Vesterbro (actually behind the place we were staying). The friends location was located across from a beautiful park, where there was also outdoor seating for Mikkeller specifically. There was also ample space and seating inside (unlike the Vesterbro location, which is very tiny and habitually full). As for selection, it's Mikkeller so you won't be disappointed. However, again, they seemed to have more than the Vesterbro location and also more of the varieties I most enjoy. Very much worth a stop for all beer aficionados, but also just to relax and enjoy your time in Copenhagen. read more

This place is great. I love the communal atmosphere as well as the fine beer they serve here. Delicious! I also tried their bar in Rejkyavik. The beer is oh so good. I recommend it to anyone who appreciates craft beer that has been very carefully crafted. In addition to the great tasting beer, they have created awesome artwork for their labels. What a cute little brewery! Probably one of my favorite brewery experiences to boot, this Mikkeller is so cute on the inside and had so many delicious options of beer on tap. I particularly enjoyed my stout, and this is coming from a seldom-beer drinker. As a fan of the other Mikkeller bars around the world, i had to hit this ip while eating in the area. ,et two friends for drinks. Shit it's crowded. Could be that the CPh beer celebration is on and uber beer geeks are out. Not sure what the deal with the brits outside of their country are but theyre just rude here, and it would turn put the same at the CBC. Regardless had a solid Rose de Gambrinus sour and we checked out the bottle shop. I, guessing ill stick to the original space more but good to know there's a great alternate locale in town. read more

For beer and service this is one of the best in Copenhagen. The Mikkeller system is an OCD beer-lover heaven: 40 taps (and more bottles) each with a number, ABV, and type listed out on their huge chalkboards. Beer can be ordered in 25 or 40 cl sizes; but it's just more fun to get the 25 cl and try more varieties. Plus the 25 comes in stemmed tasting glasses which I find strangely satisfying to drink out of even though I know it makes no difference to the beer. The decor is...a strong statement. The one shade of aqua pretty much covers everything and what isn't aqua is very pale wood. There are quite a few tables, but the benches are not very movable and there are no small stools or chairs you can pull up to join your friends at a table. But I can see that it would quickly turn into a zoo with no standing space if they put in more chairs. Not my favourite decor, but I can overlook it for the sake of the beer. Note: they close at midnight currently, but that is supposed to change in the future. Also, it's hot and sweaty as hell in there...here's to hoping they open the windows or install ventilation. Update: open till 2am on weekends now and looks like the new AC went in! So at least one corner of the bar is not sweat inducing. read more

This little bar is located next to the shop where they sell lots of different Mikkelers (and some other beers), on the corner, in a basement. It's not too hard to find, but still good to know, because really: if you like beer, you want to go here! Mikkeler & Friends really is open for everyone. It's not the classical dark-brownish beer place (that smells a little bad), but really a cool place with fresh colors and lots of white and tree. And yep, their beers... You can get both 0.2 and 0.5 liters, which makes it way more affordable!, and there's so many different ones on tap that I guess you could say this really is Mikkeler paradise. This newer version of a Mikkeller centric bar in Copenhagen has a more extensive draft and bottle list than the older location. It's also bigger and much brighter, but the way it was split up and the tables system made it seem a little less friendly in some ways than the old bar. That said, there were tons of people from all over the world in here when I went and I had a good time. Not as friendly as some of the other bars, like I said, but great selection and I ended up enjoying myself enough. Like the other location this place has bar snacks and sausages. If I remember correctly, I think they also had pickles and chocolates as well. But much like the other location, the food list pretty much ends there. read more

Ah the legendary Mikkeller and Friends! The place is located near Jaegersborggade, the 'most happening' street in Copenhagen, and is in a class of its own. The inside is minimalist and cozy and can probably seat around 40 people. There are some piddling food options, and some fantastic, fantastic beer. If you're not aware Mikkeler is a legendary Copenhagen craft brewery that specializes in unusually flavored beers. A beer that tastes like Mango? Or one that tastes like berries? Or how about one that tastes like chocolate? Well, Mikkeler has them all. My suggestion - go for 3 of the small glasses. You spend around 100 DKK, give your tastebuds a crazy whirl, and get just the right amount of buzzed in the process. :) read more

I really liked the concept and I guess I was lucky at the time to be there when it was not busy, otherwise it wold take forever to get something. I really did NOT like the mould on the wall and the fact that is was quite cold in there (even in July afternoon). I know it is a basement and is kind of humid, but hygiene is important. Also the value of money is not the best. 30-40dkk for some beer in a dessert wineglass is quite expensive, but I guess is the "uniqueness" that cost. That of course didn't stop me from buying a second and a third glass, since the beers are awesome. read more

If you think Mikeller at Viktoriagade is nice, this place is much nicer! I must admit that I'm a bit weirded out by the shades of blue in this place. The whole bar looks like it's been decorated by a bunch of Stepford Wives, but it's a bit of consolation that you could see the bunch of beer taps right away. One thing that you notice is that this place is so much spacious than the Viktoriagade one and it has nice outdoor seating across the street. As a huge fan of dark beer, I find the selection is much better here for my taste. Apart from the beer attraction, the taco truck from Yuca taco would also frequent this place in the weekends of summer months, so that's a plus - and with such great location, there are lots of other interesting (wine) bars, cafes and restaurants around if you need to top up the food level before gulping some beer. read more

Nørrebro is where it's at, people. Mikkeller & Friends opened up in Nørrebro as an extension to the original Mikkeller location in Vesterbrø, and is also enabling patrons to buy a vast selection of beer for take away. It's not just Mikkeller beer that's for sale either -- the bf and I found local beers from our hometown area in California even! M&F is just below the street on Stefansgade and has a bright decor, with mint green/seafoam walls, Mikkeller artwork, and plenty of seating. The crowd type varies from younger to older, depending on the time of day. They have chips and some snacks to serve while you drink, which is more than what the original location offers up from I understand. Great addition to the neighborhood and awesome look and feel to add to the different Mikkellers! read more

Quite a fan of this place. Comfy and relaxed. Friendly bar staff and a great range of quality beers (plus the Riesling on tap is completely decent and they have at least one cider for non beer drinkers). Their selection is ever changing which is both a pro and a con really! The music choice is very very variable. Everything from Courtney Barnett to country music and all in between. Whoever selected today's soundtrack clearly thinks they are pretty funny.... not sure I approve of Blue's greatest hits tbh! read more

If you want to hang out with the hipsters in Copenhagen, this is the place to go. I live close by, so sometimes I go here for a beer. The beer is always good, but I never feel totally comfortable - it feels like one of those places where people go to show themselves off, rather than just hang out with friends. But if you like that, it's probably a good choice. They have so many different beers, and the pricing is okay. I always find a new beer that I like, which is fun. Great and different place on Nørrebro, even better if you are a beer lover - since that is their concept and pretty much all you can get. I am a beer lover which is part of why I love coming here, the personnel is very knowlegdeable on all of their beers and gives a great recommendation if your´re in doubt of what to chose. Recommendations based on what kind of beer you like or if you want to try something new. The atmosphere is great and different, only thing there aren´t that many chairs so if you come on one of those days when it´s packed, be prepared to stand. I visited here to buy some beer for friends. I like the vibes around this place. Everything was so cute. I love how everything is in mint color, yayyy go pastel:D I stopped by the bottle shop, that the staff was pretty helpful, who gave me recommendations on each bottle of beer. I was surprise how he can tell the taste of most beers... there are 70+ choices of beers or alcohol you know..:o At last I chose two bottle of American dream and a bottle of a Xmas ale. I sit down outside - on the benches or on the curb - and enjoy my beer with a friend or two in the warm breeze and the afternoon sun. You can taste the beer before you buy - and there's plenty to choose from, about 40-50 different beers from different microbreweries. I really love the place, although the interior decoration and furniture is a bit dull - the lively and friendly atmosphere makes up for that (in my opinion). read more

One word: Hipster. This place is really for fashon-hipster people. I went there with some friends and I discovered this place that is in a basement: you cannot understand from the outside how big it is inside! The place has enough seat and has a decent number of beers you can drink: because there are too many beers I was not able to drink only one kind and I really needed the help of the barman in order to make the best decision. The price is not so expensive and is affordable for my wallet. The barman and the weigher are really gentle and available to suggest users what to buy. The furniture and the style of the location is really minimal: you can see a lot of exposed pipes and wires (yes, electric ones) that make this place really hipster. I like it, but it is not so amazing to say that I would stay there forever. read more

First off, in the dark winter night, this place may seem like it takes forever to walk to from the Tivoli area. Keep going! And don't miss the door, tucked underneath the building on the corner. I promise it will be warm and cozy inside. Delightful place. Small, 4-person picnic tables and little 2-person cubbies with bar stools makes for an intimate atmosphere. I noticed what appeared to be another, larger room tucked beyond the bathrooms, so if you walk in and don't immediately see seating, go check the back. Beer selection is, of course, impressive. More taps of in-house brews than I would have expected (at least 12, I think?). Plus all types of other beers from craft brew houses. I also appreciate that you can get a small pour, so you can try more beers (warning: I think this is economically working against you based on pricing of small vs. large pours, but I didn't fully do the math). My only knock is that I wish there was a slightly larger variety of snack foods. I realize they are avoiding a kitchen menu, but I need a bit more than chips and cheese if I am consuming copious amounts of beer. Maybe some hard pretzels? read more

I'm always a fan of trying local craft beers, so when I was in CPH I knew I had to pay Mikkller & Friends a visit, and its selection of 40 different beers on tap definitely didn't disappoint. I came with a couple friends around late afternoon/early evening on a Sunday since we had some time to kill before dinner, and as expected, there weren't very many people there. The space itself isn't huge, and more appropriate for smaller groups of 3-4 people. The beer itself was fantastic -- I tried an IPA and a Pils (don't remember exactly which ones) and they were both very good. The staff is very knowledgeable; the girl serving me patiently answered all my questions as I was deciding between the overwhelming selection and could give me a very detailed explanation of every beer I asked about. And I love that they have the 0.2L size so that you can try multiple without your brain getting too fuzzy! :P The only downside to that is that it can get pricey (each one alone is already more than I'd usually agree to pay for something of that size), especially since it's so tempting to try so many. But, I do think this place is still worth it to visit at least once! read more

How bad do I want to be one of those "& Friends"? A lot. I came here on the recommendation of a friend, and I'm glad I did. There were four of us, and we decided to come in for a few beers after lunch nearby. The venue itself is quite simple, we couldn't help but comment on how Scandinavian it felt. But you're not really here for the decor, you're here for the beer. There are some seriously good beers here. I think I had about four before we left. I went for the bacon stout (because bacon) and the coffee stout (because coffee). It was like drinking breakfast. Seriously good stuff. They have a wide range of beers in different styles and varieties. I was warned that there may be a sour beer or two, but luckily none of us found them on the menu (and the menu is extensive). Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, the beers seem to be reasonably priced (for a Scandinavian country), and by the time we left, the place was absolutely packed with people. The bartenders were quite friendly and willing to talk about the beers too. It's also quite the hipster bar. I could tell as over half the men in the place had beards. And most of them had more facial hair than hair on their head. But it's a good vibe, and good beer, so I'd go back if I'm ever back in Copenhagen! read more

Mikkeller & Friends is perfect for beer lovers and those new to craft beer. The lounge sells a variety of craft beers. I normally don't drink beer (I'm more of a mojito kind of guy), so I felt apprehensive when I entered the doors. Fortunately, after I expressed my concerns with one of the workers, I was allowed to try a few options before making a purchase. After a few tastings, I chose the the sweetest beer available. The drink had pomegranate undertones and a cider-like texture. The beer was nice but pricy. I recommend this place for its environment. This place is all about how lucky you get once you come in! I don`t think it is easy to work in a place that sells craft beers - most of the times people are excited to try something new, but also these beers tend to be very specific and not everybody likes what they get when choosing blindly. Therefore people working in such a place should be extremely patient and almost posses some guru in order to guess what their customers might like. Uhh, hard job. I understand that. But also a glass of beer costs a bit more than in other places, therefore the patient kind of service is expected.... And there goes my lucky or not that lucky experiences in this place - really depends who`s been working that night. Few times the staff has been very helpful, but few other times - really impatient and rude..... Also I think the staff should have less friends hanging out during the duty time, because the regular, paying customers are a bit left behind while their chatting with people they already know.
