To double check I used turbo tax and filled out all my info it showed I owed, if I can do that for free why did Steve charge me to do it wrong... not good. Looking else where next year.

I have to have our returns reviewed by someone else because their were still errors after filing then I received a letter from the state regarding an error. Totally a nightmare. Mary Cay did that and more, and I couldn't be happier (or more relieved.) I went on the same day as my cousin and was totally taken by surprise at the "welcome board" she uses... it cracked me up! There was a big sign welcoming both my cousin & I by name, and you don't see that personal touch very often anymore. It at least let me know I was in the right place! I went upstairs and we laid everything I had on the table. Forms and forms and more forms. She took all of my information and then plugged a bunch of things in, which took about 30 minutes. What I LOVED about her services was that she explained what everything meant as she went along and I ended up learning so much just from the brief time I spent in her office. Her fee is reasonable, and what stood out to me was that it includes "anytime financial advice." I can call her or email her with questions about anything related to money throughout the year, and she'll be glad to help me. She also told me she thought it was great that I was taking charge of my finances and had everything organized, which made me feel ahh-mazing. The only thing better than having your taxes done early is doing business with someone you can tell genuinely cares about putting you in the best situation possible. I came upon her office's phone number…read morewhen I was researching some unnecessarily convoluted and asinine tax laws that would only happen in the US of A. I felt some stress upon discovering that I may (or may not) be fined for not filing something that until today, I didn't even know was a thing. But as I've learned from a lawyer friend of mine, "ignorantia juris non excusat." For future reference, an adult pleading ignorance (i.e. "I didn't know") isn't afforded the same levels of leniency as when a child does it. So I called Roberg Tax Solutions, because the local (Oklahoma City) tax advisers are either not quick at responding, or are not willing to provide any insight without seeing dollar signs first. I got her voice mail. I figured that was the end of that, but she called me back within five minutes. I have never before had the pleasure of speaking with someone who was so helpful with tax advice. Along with the advice, I caught a hint of her kind personality, and she helped ease some of my stress. It's disappointing that I had to contact someone from out of state to get the help I needed, but at least I got the help I needed. While I don't live in St. Louis, I almost wish I did just so I could deal with a fantastic tax professional like Jan Roberg.

When they looked over my information, I was told to "do it yourself" and fix my own problems! Even though I told them I don't fully understand the problem. That is completely ridiculous, I did not make an appointment just to be denied service. Correcting a tax return after filing is a service advertised on the H&R Block website, and they told me to get lost. Never going here again.

I've found their service generally inconsistent and expensive, but my taxes are complicated and I'm often away, so I have peace of mind knowing that if trouble crops up they are there to help sort it. The ladies at the West Clay are friendly and knowledgeable and the two I met most recently sound like they'll be around for awhile. I'm likely to keep returning.

I then called the company number listed and was out on hold and had an automated voice tell me that someone would be right with me. Apparently this was not true either. I called today and got the answer of nothing, they were closed all day but had no answer as to why I could make an appointment and why the phones were not changed to say that no one was there to answer your call. Don't waste your time with this place, if they can get these simple things right I can't image them getting my taxes right. They only get one star because you have to give a star to post, but they deserve zero for doing nothing.
