Wasn't transparent about pricing and charged much more than quoted. I told her we would be parting ways after tax season, as my S-corp return and personal have not even been started on yet (S-corp due March 15, they filed extension March 14 but didn't give me any updates, today is April 5) about which I was not notified, and she had the gall to fire me as a client 10 days before individual taxes are due because I set boundaries with her. Her emails included insults and personal attacks, and her office did not return everything to me that I sent them. Cites reason for the incompetence is that an accountant left her firm. Perhaps if she weren't so ugly to clients and employees, people would stay. Here are some comments she made to me just today via email (not counting previous encounters): When I asked why they didn't call about discovering my returns haven't been worked on: "I am not curt. I am still confident, and that's why we are working our tails away instead of crying over it on the phone." "Can you please stop panicking for no reason?" When I questioned the hike in pricing and lack of transparency about it (important to note I told her when I hired her that I am new to being a business owner and need some guidance, which she agreed to provide): "I am also certain you realize it took time to answer all your questions in person or over the phone. I understand that you came with very little knowledge of how the S-corps work, but it is not my place to educate for free." This is just a sampling, and there were were pleasant interactions as well. However, there is an overall air of superiority in her communications. Mila seems unable to take accountability for her choices, and deflects them onto her clients when there are negative consequences. For example, I am aware of a former client who fired her as a CPA due to her behavior. When I brought this to her attention, she advised that she fired the client, who is no longer welcome back. I'm aware of more another individual who plans to fire her because of their experiences with how rude she is. She may be good at math, but she is terrible with people.

After using every communication method that I had for this business within a 24-hour window, I reached out to Steven's mom. Who chose not to respond either. Steven wanted to clarify my rental income which he was wrong about, with my bookkeeper for my business taxes. The bookkeeper for my business taxes has nothing to do with the 1099s that Steven had. Steven that had conversations with my bookkeeper about filing the business filings for the IRS. I did not engage Regal Tax Service or authorized them to do this. They tell me that they have communications from me authorizing them to do this. I have already paid a separate accountant to handle the business filings, therefore I would not ask Regal tax to do this. This business continually miscategorized expenses that I had already categorized correctly. They tried to pick up unauthorized work and then charge me for it. they cut off all communication with me after I told them that they were wrong and that they needed to categorize my income correctly. Then they emailed me! And they tried to extort more money out of me after I did not authorize them to pick up the business filings! Then they dropped me as a client when I went down to their business and caused a scene. Look, when you screw up people's taxes, when you try to reach out to their other accountant on issues that your client can clarify so that you can charge them more money, when you pick up unauthorized work and try to extort more money out of the situation, when you cut all communication with your client, people tend not to be happy with that! After I caused the scene Shelly emailed me and tried to extort more money out of me for work that I did not authorize. I emailed her and let her know that We would not be at this point if Steven had not made several attempts to miscategorize already correctly categorized income. (I sent them spreadsheets with EVERYTHING categorized) We would not be at this point if he had asked myself or my assistant about the 1099s that we correctly classified as income. We would not be at this point if Regal Tax Service had not tried to pick up work that I did not authorize them to do. And we would not be at this point had they responded to my communications about these concerns. Shelly, say whatever you want. You screwed up my taxes. You tried to pick up unauthorized work. You tried to communicate with other accountants in my circle when I, or my assistant were the only people who could have clarified the issue. And as I tried to schedule meetings with you and my other accountants to clarify this & reached out to all of your communications methods, you cut off all communication with me.
