It took about a solid hour to tour the exhibits. Parking in the area was free. There was a Bob Hope traveling exhibit that was wonderful. There's no coffee shop inside, but plenty in the area. Many of the interactive exhibits that would interest younger folks has been updated. Interactive exhibits is a big part of the museum exhibits. Very educational and fun. There is a room for Space X rocket technology and the relationship of Baylor University and Space X. Well worth a visit for all!

There was also a gallery devoted to the history of Baylor University, very interesting. Also there was a small model village located on green space behind the museum, very cool. If you're thinking it's a museum for the baseball team like Tracy P. thought, uhm, it's not. Haha. Texas Rangers have an illustrious history. Surprisingly, not all TR's were good, but for the most part they were lawmen. Do watch the 45-minute film before touring the museum which helped me appreciate the exhibits as it ties the TRs with almost every aspect of Texas history. There are interactive exhibits so you can pick up and feel the weight of a TR gun. And there are somber reminders of the most famous Waco incident. Expect to spend a decent couple of hours here and stop by the gift shop for a memorabilia. Only $10.50 per adult admission. Enjoyed it! Closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and NY.

There's a room of someone's personal collection donation of Texas memorabilia. Also in back before the video room, there is a Room of Lone Ranger which is a Texas Ranger when you think about it. That room was very fun for me. Hi Ho Silver!! Fun photo op to dress up like cowboy. lol There's a gift shop inside too. It's a very well put together Musuem. It took me half day here. In addition to a 25-minute video production about the life of President George H.W. Bush (during which I shed a tear), there are more artifacts here than you can shake a stick at. The guides are quite friendly and knowledgeable, and they are prepared to answer questions. During my visit, there were several original artifacts on display, including FDR's speech on Dec. 8, 1941, and Elvis Presley's original enlistment documents. But those are traveling exhibits. There is plenty of Bush family memoriblia to quench your thirst for some up-close history.

I was in College Station over the weekend for a Texas A&M Class of 1980 Reunion, and part of the agenda was paying this place a visit. The George H. W. Bush Presidential Library complex, located on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, includes the Presidential Library and Museum, the Bush School of Government and Public Service, and the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center. My visit included the main Museum, a separate building holding the very cool Union Pacific 4141 Engine and the Marine One Helicopter, and the graves of President Bush, his Wife Barbara, and their Daughter Robin. The later involves a pretty walk around a scenic pond (and rose garden area) and onwards to a gated plot within a quiet woodsy area. If Gayle is reading this, of course I also took a look through the gift shop at the end of my visit. I found the main museum to be nicely curated, in chronological order, and with lots of interesting things to learn and remember. I found that I needed at least a couple passes through to help layer my visit. Of particular note (besides the 4141 and Marine One) were exhibits noting the fall of the Berlin Wall, Camp David, the family boat (Fidelity), and the car that the Bush family drove out to Texas for the first time. There was also a special (and worth visiting) exhibit when I was there Music America: Iconic Objects From America's Music History. Also, please don't miss the 22 minute orientation video when you first start in. I found that it really helped set the stage for what was to come at this museum.

It was a great time had by myself and them, the admission price was $7.00 for all three of us to go into the museum. For the boys the associate in the gift shop gave them a scavanger hunt to do while we visited the museum upstairs. I loved the idea so it made them look all over at things to find the little white squares with the symbols on them. Took the boys 2 times through the museum to find them all. After that we then walked through and looked at things and then explained it to them. We all loved the museum. Highly recommend taking the children there for a visit, get them out into the fresh air.

It isn't traditional, as you have to buy tickets in person. There are no food or drinks aloud in the theater. And you want to sit near the top, or in the last three rows for the best views.
