I've been shopping at Milam's since they opened in Pinecrest. Today I had a terrible experience that makes me not want to go back to this store. They advertised free eggs from the 11th to the 17th of this month. Today, Sunday the 14th, at 9:30 a.m., they didn't have any of the advertised eggs and didn't offer me a similar product. I found Milam's Market through Yelp. I was staying nearby for business and gave it a shot. I'm quite impressed with the variety and quality of the items they offer. They have a decent vegan prepared food section by the produce with local suppliers. The interior is nice and clean. You can find almost anything you want here. The wine aisles were quite impressive with an above average selection. The employees were friendly and helpful as well. A family-owned chain in Miami, Milam's Market has four locations. On this particular occasion, we headed to the one in Coconut Grove. It wasn't part of the original plan, but hey, no complaints. When we got there, a line had formed outside and we wondered whether to bother or not. Truly we only stopped by as we were in the area, and my boyfriend, upon learning that they sold SusiLicious Bakeshop merenguitos and that I hadn't ever tried any, pretty much decided we should go. It seemed the fates agreed with him as the line speedily cleared up. Upon going inside, too, we found duck fat, which we had nearly forgotten about, and well, we needed it for our duck confit. From this, we ended up making an unexpected grocery shopping trip, but it was a great call. Everything was ridiculously organized. We even found hand sanitizer and toilet paper. Also, I have to say I am impressed by their selection of keto-friendly and organic goods. There are a lot of products there that I would expect at Whole Foods but with much friendlier pricing. Honestly while not my preferred grocery chain, I do have to say that I found the venture there worth it and I will happily return when able. read more

For those unfamiliar, Milam's is a small Miami supermarket chain something like a cross between Publix and Fresh Market favoring the Fresh Market/Whole Foods vibe. They're very nice. And in my estimation, the best of them all. Was able to score an eclectic lunch here and had I been a bit more local, would have done a good bit of grocery shopping as well. It's just I was impressed with the very nice product mix and very helpful customer service from everybody. Very niiiice. read more

Local Coconut Grove resident here. Typically love grocery shopping at Milam's, but on December 4th I purchased a pound of the Argentinian red shrimp and was shocked to find a rotten shrimp in my bag. The smell was putrid and the rotten shrimp compromised the entire bag. Customer service only just refunded me, and did nothing more to try to remedy the situation. Very unfortunate experience! Update: I'm very impressed with how this situation was handled. I feel heard as a customer by being shown a level of care that is rare to come across in the food service industry. read more

Love Milam's! In a city without many family-run grocery stores, I am happy to support one like Milam's. They have a great selection of produce, grab and go options including many local and vegan-friendly items, as well as an awesome prepared foods section. I'll admit I usually stick to the perimeter when shopping here as sometimes they dry/pantry goods can be a little limited in my opinion. Their seafood department is great and during stone crab season I think they have some of the better deals. Last but not least an ode to their wine department. For being such a small store, they most definitely have a very large selection of wines. Milam's is one of my favourite "gourmet" supermarket ever. They offer an impressive variety of items, great brands and the best: high quality . I love their prepared food specially the vegan section. So good to find great meal and that taste delicious. But what I love the most is that this place is always clean, organised (specially their fruits and vegetables), staff ready to help and it's easy to find whatever you are looking for. Ps:. Finally got a chance to visit this Coconut Grove location and was pleasantly surprised with how well organized and stocked their store was. Although smaller than Whole Foods, there were sufficient options for organic, locally grown and prepared goods. The layout of the store is nice and we constantly saw staff restocking and cleaning various areas. Prices are slightly higher than your average local supermarket, but they also seemed to run some sales which balanced it out. Their deli and baked goods sections seemed pretty popular and they also had what appeared to be a small coffee bar. All in all, Milams is a great option for your grocery needs and also helps support local businesses. They also seem to be pretty responsive to their customers' needs. Fantastic family run chain-grocery store. This Coconut Grove is my go to location for several reasons: -Great food options. You don't find many of the brands at other stores. Their vegan premade meal section is fantastic. -Wine: They have a fantastic wine selection. I love Georgian wine, but no local liquor stores or grocery stores carry them. Milams does. They also have a liquor store next door. -Great Produce/Fresh food: Always some of the freshest produce and their whole roasted chickens (italian) are amazing -Great service: Never had a bad interaction with staff. If you are looking for a product that they don't have they will order it for you and call you when it arrives. The cashiers are always really friendly as well. After searching endlessly I decided to ask Juan Fernandez for help- he knew exactly the item I was searching for. They were out, BUT his determination to please reinforced my loyalty to this store. He called Bird Road simultaneously sending a googled picture of the item for a quick response(they were out) - continued to do the same with the Pinecrest store. Prices are reasonably higher than other supermarkets, as the quality and service is upscale. It is very clean, organized, and nicely decorated. There's a huge variety of pretty much everything, and they try to source locally as much as possible, which I love. One of those stores you can go to find some obscure ingredient a recipe calls for. The best part is that besides a great market selection, they also have tons of grab and go lunch options, even sushi that is made fresh and delicious! Kevin at the Sunny Isles store helped me recently with a party. He was wonderful. The shrimp was delicious and the perfect size for my margarita style salt rimmed individual serving glasses. I also received rave reviews from my guests about the sushi which was gone before I had a chance to try one... next time I will double the size of the sushi. I used to shop at Milam's all the time in Miami and loved the superior quality of their produce and meat and seafood and a gourmet variety of food. I visit the Milam's on Bird Road and all of the staff in the deli don't speak one word of English. I've been at this establishment a dozen times, and when i visit the deli asking for a sandwich, they get me something else. Or they pour me a cup of soup when i try to explain to them a roast beef and Swiss cheese sub. Each time, I visit this establishment I have this same issue. And the personnel ALWAYS go above and beyond... escorting you to help find an item... ordering an item if not immediately available. The freshest ingredients in the most perfectly organized format with eccentric items sprinkled throughout the store which will definitely spruce up your pantry. I truly enjoy shopping here. How to turn a failure into a stunning shopping experience! I placed an order on Instacart and the shoppers, for some reasons, didn't pick up what I needed the most: guanciale and bucatini Garofalo. I was very upset and the dinner canceled and I wrote to Milam's Supermarket. Mrs Kristie Milan personally answered and offered to bring the missing items whenever I was available even if there were not directly responsible for that missing delivery and this is exactly what happened! Love coming to Milam's. Friendly, neighborhood grocer with staff that is always willing to help. They have a vast produce section as well as a good selection of beer and wine. The deli area is enticing and clean with plenty of salads and prepped food to choose from. They typically have samplings on the weekends. These include cheese and wine and everything in between. Aisles are always organized and nicely stocked. The meat and seafood department always looks fresh and the guys behind the counter are very knowledgeable. A perfect example of their customer service: One of the items we purchased rang up at a different price than what was marked on the label. We were given the item at .99 because of the mistake.
