Prescription requests were held up at Laurel Hill. Finally, the day came where Laurel Hill refused to approve a prescription for Proin which is used for urinary control in dogs. Laurel Hill claimed that it was illegal to purchase Proin over the internet -- it was Chewy who was looking for approval; this turned out to be an outright false statement. Went to another practice who honored my request for approval of this drug and is not overcharging me for services. Laurel Hill, deceptive practice, outrageous fees -- in it for profits.

And that money goes to such a worthy cause! I mean not only are they inexpensive, but they're a nonprofit and the money made by the clinic goes directly to helping the sanctuary animals receive care too! Their staff are great, especially Michelle at the front desk, the technician Jill, and Doctor Deb, Doctor Grey, and Doctor Kim. They really, truly care.

They used to be very good, but I don't find that to be the case now. I arranged to have a female cat spayed there and they insisted on keeping her overnight. When she was picked up the next morning she was in a urine soaked carrier, evidently she had spent the night in the carrier, without a litter box. She was also sick & had been perfectly fine when she was left there. In trying to save a few bucks, it ended up costing much more after having to pay for the cats treatment by my regular vet. The ACS clinic was supposed to offer low-cost spay/neuters, but their prices now are nearly as expensive as it would be going to a full service vet. I don't recommend them & won't be taking any pets I get in the future there for spaying/neutering.

First off, they will not even allow you into the vet with your pet because of this Covid stupidity - you have to hand your pet to them from your car, and you must stay in your car while they take your pet inside. Seriously?!?! If you want to be paranoid about Covid, then ask customers to wear a mask but don't separate them from their pet! This can be quite traumatic to some pets! Even people hospitals currently allow a visitor to come back with a patient to their room. But you can't allow a pet owner to come inside with their pet?! Secondly, despite describing our pet's condition to them, they stated he probably had an allergy causing some throat irritation. Really? And allergy causing a sudden onset of severe, lower respiratory raspy coughing fits?! I would have been able to get a better, more accurate diagnosis if I had taken my dog to a blind, deaf circus performer. At least the money I paid would have yielded better entertainment!
