Terminal 2 is small, hectic and crowded. It's in serious need of an update but it mostly is unpleasant because the airline operator is Easy Jet and they're like a version of an extra disorganized Southwest Airlines. If you're flying Easy Jet, you will fly from Terminal 2. So, I'll just offer my most useful tips for making the best of your Terminal 2 experience:
-Getting to and from this Milano-Malpensa is super easy. You can catch the train from Terminal 1 and head to Milano. But first, you need to get to Terminal 1 from Terminal 2.
- Transport between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2: You will have to take a bus. It's free, takes about 10 minutes and picks up outside of baggage claim. The bus will drop you off at Terminal 2, head inside the terminal and follow signage for the train.
- If you rented a car, pickup/ drop off is at Terminal 1
-If you have an early flight from Milano-Malpensa, do yourself a favor and just stay overnight at the Sheraton. It's super convenient and literally in Terminal 1. You can catch the bus or train from there. Easy, peasy, worth every penny.
-Easy Jet is the main airline at Terminal 2- make your life easier by paying the extra bucks to get "speedy boarding." We all know by now that all budget airlines tack on extra fees and don't end up being a good deal. It's just the way it is, but if you pay extra for speedy boarding your experience at this Terminal will be slightly less painful, especially because you have to take a bus to board the plane and "Speedy Boarding" gets you on the bus first, which mean you board first and overhead compartment space is super limited.
-Follow the rules and regulations of flying inter-Europe. Weight restrictions and carry-on limitations are different. If you're traveling for an extended period of time, as we do, I recommend paying the extra fee for extra weight, that way you avoid any surprises. Trust me, they will make you get rid of personal items to make the weight, so give yourself peace of mind if you're traveling with large bags.
- Wi-Fi in the Terminal free, but good luck getting on it. If you're strictly relying on wifi, meaning no data/roaming even for a a couple minutes, then you're out of luck, because in order to sign up for their wifi they send you a confirmation email. But you can't check email without wifi.
Food and drink options are standard and there is plenty of seating once you're passed security. read more
