My electrical system had totally shut down in the air near Greeley. I tried recycling the master and alternator but it was dead and gone. I pumped down the gear and made an emergency landing in Greeley. This, at 3PM on a Saturday afternoon. Sam at Hanger 1 was highly recommended so I called the business . Much to my surprise, Dusty, his wife and business partner answered and was very helpful and concerned. To make a long story short Sam was looking at my plane 20 minutes later. AND, was able to diagnosis the problem and put in a used but serviceable battery to get me home. By a little after 4PM I was up and running again. This was a miracle! My expectation was multiple nights in a hotel and a big bill, not to mention the possibility of getting taken advantage of by a less than fair A&P. The bill was more than reasonable and Sam was truly happy to have helped. AND, Dusty even texted me to make sure I made it home OK. My only regret... Sam and Hanger 1 Aviation are so far away. 5 Big Stars for Sam & Dusty at Hanger 1 Aviation.
