Apparently I forgot to review MHS after we got married here...whoops! We'd looked, and looked and looked for a venue that was affordable, could hold more than 75 people and had some personality. We'd looked in the mountains, in Denver, in Chicago and quite frankly I was tired of looking. Then someone mentioned MHS and so I zipped over to take a look and I instantly fell in love. It had character, reminded me of some of the venues in Chicago I had loved and I absolutely adored the giant chandeliers and catwalk. We put down a deposit for our wedding date and it all went smoothly from there. I loved that we brought in our own caterer because it allowed us to get exactly what we wanted. The pictures from here were incredible, although that has more to do with our outstanding photographers. Overall I was beyond happy with the decision to get married here. It was close to downtown which was helpful for all of our out of town guests, we walked back behind MHS to find some incredible picture locations and everyone raved about the fact that cocktail hour was upstairs and the reception was downstairs, being able to watch from above while we were introduced, etc. We worked with Dana and she was great! read more

We loved "tail gating" here before a Bronco's game this fall. It felt like we were at the stadium already. The menu wasn't that impressive- there were only a few things on it. But, my chicken wrap was pretty good. I think it's safe to say, though, that you go here for the atmosphere, and not the food. read more

A very cool place for big events. I have been to 2 here. One being the Floyd's 99 holiday party (which I planned). Stephanie was super helpful in planning and the venue had so much personality and such a cool vibe. A huge space that is great for hair shows, weddings, pre-bronco game, and much more. A bit spendy for renting out the event, but the bar is pretty neat. Takes up a huge part of the downstairs, but still leaves dance floor space. Only complaint- the sound didn't work too well with our DJ in the space. Not sure if that was the equipment or the venue. every time we opened the kitchen door the music would get all staticy. Besides that a great time! Also went to the Yelp party here - good TIME! Hard to find, but good parking. read more

This seems to be a great venue for special events. The space has a lot of room, and is very open. I've been here for private events as well as Broncos pre-game, and have always had a good experience. The beer festivals here are a bit rowdy, and I am definitely a fan of that! What's odd though is that even though they host really cool local beer events, their regular tap line is quite lackluster! Fix that, and this place gets 5 stars. read more

What a great venue right in the heart of Denver. Spent two evenings here for Denver Brew Fest and was just taken away by the space. Full bar in the middle of the main room, ample room out back for a huge tented party, upstairs too with little rooms hidden here and there... Would love to attend more events here at Mile High Station. We are getting married next year, out of state, but think this would be such a cool wedding venue (IF YOU ANTICIPATE A LARGE AMOUNT OF GUESTS). The space is just so large that I think it may feel like you have very few guests at your event if the room isn't all filled up. read more

We got married here over Memorial Day weekend and it was the perfect place for us! It has a very modern yet old world feel to it with it's exposed bricks. The layout is very open and spacious, so you don't feel at all cramped. Highly recommended! read more

Fun atmosphere to watch the Broncos games. Unlike many of the other reviews, I had wonderful service and never felt unsafe. There are plenty of TVs to watch the game and nothing beats being down AT the stadium on game day. Would love to attend more events here at Mile High Station. read more

MHS was absolutely wonderful to work with for our wedding! The atmosphere of the venue is classic, beautiful, and really speaks for itself. We worked with Gina throughout the entire planning process and she was more than accommodating with any request we had and was quick to respond to any emails. Our wedding was on Friday August 29th, which just so happened to be the same night as the CU vs. CSU football game at Mile High Stadium - MHS was willing to amp up the security around the venue to ensure that we didn't have any "special" guests that night and it went off without a hitch! I don't have a single complaint from any interaction with MHS throughout the entire planning process and highly recommend this venue for any event. read more

About a year ago, my highschool, Monarch highschool, booked our prom here. We spent lots of time fundraising to come up with the money (about 12,000) to pay for the venue. Unfortunately the day before prom a snow storm rolled in and our principal cancelled prom as a safety precaution since the venue is in Denver and kids would be driving themselves. Mile High Station was not willing to work with us at all and willingly kept the 12000 dollars even though our prom was cancelled there. The weather however was not our fault. Now we may not have a prom venue due to the fact we have no money for one. read more

We held our wedding at Mile High Station. It is an absolutely gorgeous wedding venue, especially for fall weddings. You can easily hold the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in one great place. Melissa was our point of contact and was very accommodating in many ways (rehearsal, numerous emails/questions). The bartenders/staff were great, and everything ran smoothly. I couldn't ask for a better wedding day. However, when I received our final bill, I lost some trust in their business. We were aware there was a 20% gratuity charge that goes with the alcohol bill in our signed contract, which seemed fairly standard. Yet, we inaccurately assumed that 20% gratuity would then be divided between the Mile High employees who worked the venue the day-of. However, we learned after the wedding that while it is called "gratuity" it's actually a house charge that the "day of" staff does not receive. (I'm grateful that we still brought cash to tip the bartenders on that night as well as our friends who tipped throughout the night). So from my perspective we gave their business a 20% tip on the alcohol we purchased from them, or they charged us 20% more for alcohol than we really thought. As an example, I would never support a restaurant if I learned that tips supposed to go to waiters, actually went to the owners. While I acknowledge Mile High can charge whatever they want, and however they want, I felt intentionally mislead about the verbiage of where my money was going. That in incredibly unfortunate, since we really enjoyed our night. read more

This is a pretty cool venue that suffers from a lack of parking. Everything in the building is built heavy duty. From the iron girders (okay, I-beam steel), concrete slabs for the bar, massive walls of brick, and even the virtually indestructible patio furniture. The open design of the two-story space provides nice visuals, and acoustics that are both good and bad. Good, in that everyone can here the band, bad, in that all the sounds (music, talking, etc.) echo back and forth in a growing din. The place has a bit of everything for everyone. On my recent visit, during WOB Octoberfest, there were enough people in attendance to make up a crowd, without feeling over-crowded. It was nice to step out on the largish patio for a breath of fresh air (or just as likely, a lungful of second hand smoke). Like a lot of people, we eventually gravitated to the upstairs area, where commanding views of the whole venue are easily had. read more

This is just a review of the bar scene prior to Bronco games. Be careful to ask waitress for your check in plenty of time before leaving. I had to ask the waitress twice for the check and once to remind her she forgot to bring my change. I then realized she probably did it on purpose and pocketed the difference. When I asked the 3rd time, I told her I was leaving and she just said "thanks". So ended up buying a $15 bottle of Coors. The next time I will remember the name of the waitress and complain to management by name. I could easily describe her, but will take the high road. I know it is busy in there before games, but to blatantly take extra money from patrons and hope they don't realize it is not cool. read more

At this venue for a wedding, the bar is nice, it's a large very industrial space. The upstairs is a balcony and then there is a room and bathrooms off the north side. The bathroom downstairs had quite a few lights out but were quite large but there was no formal changing table so I had to use the sink. It's a nice place I think cool looking building for sure read more

3 stars for food, 5 for service. It's a beautiful space with lots of interesting pipes/woodwork/etc. from when it used to actually be a train station. Big open bar and balcony on the second floor surrounding the space. Would be ideal for a wedding reception, charity fundraiser or corporate event. Music can be a little loud and annoying, but the staff was very responsive and the appetizers were wonderful and creative. Dinner was okay but didn't knock my socks off. The beef was a little tough but the veggies and potatoes were top notch, and they did get orders taken for 150 people and served in short order. Mile High Station has quickly become one of my favorite places in the city to go to a party or event! After Yelpapalooza 2.0, the spring Zinfandel tasting and Summer Brew Fest, I think I've gotten the lay of the land, know which bathrooms have the shortest lines (upstairs) and even navigated the tricky parking situation. The huge center circular bar is gorgeous and I love the brick walls and floor-to-ceiling windows downstairs. There is a large open dance floor with plenty of room for a band to set up and soooo much space outside too - both in front and out back. The staff has always been friendly and helpful when needed. In my fantasy world, I'd be hosting parties here every weekend. But in reality, I'm dying for someone I know to get married here...hint hint ;) read more

What a great venue. My first time here was for the Yelp 2.0 event and I must say I had a blast. This place is huge. There is a massive bar in the middle of the venue and a great patio area out back. The second level is a balcony that wraps 360 degrees around the whole place. It was great for checking out my fellow Yelpers at the event. I can imagine this place going off. It's a in a little bit of a weird location, but it's another great venue to have in our city. read more

I love the history behind the building, the location is easy to get to, very open but intimate at the same time, the bathrooms are placed well, but the view is the best! Reviewing this place as an event venue. Seems like a theme in these reviews: avoid at all costs. They will tell you the wrong chair count, double-bill you for staff that doesn't even exist, and LOVE to say anything to get your business and then say no to everything on the day. Their required security guard (if you can call her that) is only interested in what is on your buffet. The venue manager is a raging nightmare who goes off in front of attendees at any little request and the staff are openly aggressive. The bar staff was even talking about my boss because they thought we left, but we could hear everything. A total nightmare. We had to bus the bar areas ourselves because they clearly had no bar-back (even though two appeared on the invoice) and they weren't event embarrassed that the attendees were bussing themselves. As a matter of fact they were super snarky and told us we were doing it wrong!!!! When I spoke up about this to the venue manager, one of the bar tenders threatened to take me out back. No joke. Cool looking space, but there are literally dozens of alternative options that won't ruin the event you've been planning for so long. They also own and operate Ironworks next door so add that to this review. read more

This is a perfect place to go for events with groups of people. I went here to watch the last part of the CU vs. CSU game and it was so much fun! The atmosphere was great and the entire place is really upon and not at all congested. The drinks were decently priced and despite how busy it was I got good service everytime I went up to the bar. I'm definitely going back here at sometime, especially for sporting events. The fact that it is so close to Sports Authority Field and the lightrali station that drops off there is also a huge plus. read more

I came here for a beer tasting the other day and had a great time. I learned a lot about Guinness and will be drinking a lot more of it in the future. Did you know that Guinness beer and the Guinness book of worlds records come from the same person? The book was created to settle bar disputes. The only real issue I have is the parking It's in a shady area and we had to park under the underpass, it was a bit creepy with no lights. It would be a great place for muggers to hang out. (If you're a mugger reading this, I'm kidding...cops scope that place for this exact reason. Stay home and quit committing crimes. Earn your money a better way, panhandling) I'll definitely come to another event here. read more

We scheduled a showing at Mile High Station for a potential wedding venue. We were a little early and no one was there yet so we poked around and smushed our faces against the windows. We decided we didn't want our once in a lifetime wedding in what looks like a giant bar (if I wanted to get married in Viewhouse or LODOs I would've asked them). But we didn't want to be rude so we waited until our appointment time. 10 minutes past and no one showed up. We called them. Another 10 minutes. We emailed them. Another 10 minutes. After waiting more than 30 minutes we left and never heard from them again. I'm sure this venue would be serviceable for a work function, but even then I would be worried about their lack of communication, reliability, and accountability (ya know, things that are a little important when you're dropping thousands). read more

High school prom scheduled here had to be cancelled due to bad weather. Mile High Station's crack management staff responded by refusing to refund to students even a portion of the $12K deposit. Even if justified by the contract, this business decision is best described in the way teens sometimes characterize a clear case of selfish, nasty ugliness -- "a dick move". read more

No way to run a business. As someone who has worked and managed in the industry for over 20 years, I was sorely disappointed to see a venue with such contempt for their customers. I've visited this bar various times, mainly on days with stadium events, like Bronco games. You'd think this place would rise to take advantage of such slam-dunk occasions to service large numbers of patrons who are involuntarily funneled right past their doors. But no, instead they are always understaffed, with unmotivated servers and bartenders who obviously can't wait for the establishment to close early yet again. Why even open at all? Recently, right after a Broncos home game, we arrived to find half of the large oval bar already shut down, with 3 untalented bartenders huddling with their heads down in front of a four-deep crowd on one side. Finally, after a 40 minute struggle to buy a pitcher of beer, a staffer triumphantly called out for last call at around 6:30, just as the unsuspecting crowd was settling in for some Sunday Night Football. Poor management planning, poor execution, poor experience. Save your money folks, give it to someone who values you, and who wants to earn it properly. Boo, Mile High Station. Boo. read more

Management has taken the position that the balconies create a risk for intoxicated patrons.If you tell your insurer, your premium is going to be very high. Even with you provide a lot of your own security, they have shut down an ongoing function. Ruins your event, minimal refund. This put my client out of business read more

Love this place before a game! Great prices, all the games on the tvs, and so close to the stadium! They have parking, but they are really close to the lightrail and that is what take to the game anyway! Not sure about the negative reviews on here, my food was great and you can't beat the prices! This place had an awesome location right next to the broncos stadium which due to a fund raiser happening we decided to show early for drinks and park here for a Thursday night game. Pre-game was packed but very obviously understaffed, 3 waitresses for the entire second floor with at least 100+ patrons, we were there for almost 2 hours and saw our server 3 times, 2 of which we had to track her down. Although to be fair she was very obviously overwhelmed, we only ordered 2 pitchers each of which were 20+ min wait. We left frustrated but didn't dwell on it with a game ahead of us. After the game during the post game traffic we decided to stop back in for another beer figuring it couldn't be any worse. Boy were we wrong. It was just as packed as the pre-game with half the service, waited another 25+ mins for a single pitcher. This place could be really great with a few extra servers/bartenders but the huge wait on simple orders ruined our whole experience. read more
