Michael Shotnik at Colorado Mortgage was the fifth mortgage lender that I contacted while perusing the market with my agent for 6 months. Others were inattentive, high pressure and treated me like a number. When it came time to buy, I made the decision to contact him after reading all the positive reviews he had on Google. I was not disappointed. The process was easy, mainly because any time I had a question, concern, or need for more information, he called me back IMMEDIATELY. If he was busy at the moment, he would answer the phone, inform me he was indisposed and asked when an appropriate time to call back would be. He always called back when he said he would, and I never felt disrespected or forgotten. Everyone who interacted with Michael in every aspect of the home buying process had nothing but positive feedback. I was always well informed and so were they. I was always the first to be updated on where the process was, what we were waiting on & what the next steps would be. Finally, Michael was extremely knowledgeable about ALL the loan options available to me. Without going into details, there were problems with other lenders because they were not as knowledgeable about all available tools to ensure my approval went smoothly. Michael took the time to dig deeper and use all the tools available (many options other lenders hadn't even heard about) to close on my home a month after making my offer! LET ME BE CLEAR: I had another broker suggest doing things with my money to "fool" the system in order to prevent problems with my approval. I felt wrong and uncomfortable about some of the things they suggested so I fired them. Micheal and Colorado Mortgage were low pressure and never presented anything immoral or frankly illegal like those other places. Before we found Colorado Mortgage we went through two other lenders. The first was a mess for many months and the second told us he could do it and after all the paperwork said we would still need 8-9 thousand down. They were both referrals. I knew we could get a better deal so after searching and reading reviews, I found Colorado Mortgage and spoke to Michael. Wow! I was very impressed within seconds of speaking with him. During the first call he was sending me emails of exactly what they can do for us. It was easy to read and understand. I would totally recommend using Colorado Mortgage. I've been trying to refinance to a traditional mortgage for years now and Michael and Melissa made it happen. Recently, I tried to refinance through ALMC mortgage and was denied within less than a day because the agent wasn't willing to put the time into working our loan. I almost gave up, but thought I'd try one more time and I found Colorado Mortgage by doing a google search. The loan officer at ALMC Mortgage only wanted to do loans that she was sure would go through, but Michael and Melissa go the extra mile to try and approve "all" loans. Not only was Colorado Mortgage able to get my loan approved, but the whole process was modern and seamless (the easiest refi I've ever done). I wouldn't even recommend trying with other companies. The best lending team there is! We bought a new build home back in February and was using the builders lender. After not hearing from the builders lender for almost 7 months, they finally told us we weren't qualified anymore and dropped us.
