I've never had an issue with this office until yesterday. It's too long of a story to get into. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 was because I was greeted very nicely. Aside from that, I was unimpressed by everyone there. I have reviewed the office on Google as well...Their response was comical.... "We have reported this to Google and reserve the right to subpoena Google to obtain your identity, at which point we will follow our standard policy to pursue legal action for slander and defamation." I seek out another eye care place that has a more organized staff and who doesn't switch up your care to charge you more. read more

The absolute worst healthcare provider in all of New England! Going on 2-1/2 hours and still haven't been seen by the doctor! And this is not the first time, but it will be the last. We were early for a 3pm appointment and I'm certain that we will be asked to shut the lights out when we're finished. Seriously, you cannot book 1 doctor to see 70+ patients per day when each appointment is usually close to 2 hours at least! Honestly, this is nuts! They didn't schedule all of my Tests when I went to the milford office like they should have. But I did get to see the doctor and he told me what he thought was wrong. So i had to see the doctor next time in franklin.the dr wouldn't see me because the tests we're not done the milford office like they should have been.So I had to make an appointment to have more tests done in another office before the doctor could see me. And that would be a month away.I was very concerned because I had a swollen eye. When I did go back, I had to go to the Franklin office.Wait was extremely long and I asked what the problem was.And they gave me attitude. But the way they treated me was horrible. In the meantime , I am worried about the condition of my eye. I knew I wasn't going back there , so I found another eye doctor. I got a appointment pretty quick appt in Mass Eye and Ear in lexington. They listened to me and took me in pretty quickly. I was relieved. And for the wait time at franklin they told me that they said it would take two hours from the minute you came in until the minute you left. They said they told me that in my never did. It is so frustrating to schedule an appointment for healthcare at a particular time and receive numerous reminders about the time and confirming the appointment, even getting a text saying if you do not show up for the appointment, they will charge you $50 fee for the no-show. Today after cancelling all my appointments because they belittled me at the front desk for a 15.00 bill I had no advanced knowledge of. All they wanted is it paid then and there. So today I received a bill, December 22, 2024 for a May visit. The bill is for .19 cents. So I came back to yelp to read ALL the negative complaints about this place. With all the other QUALITY companies out there why put up with this place???? Ready the lame answers from the owner is a joke. I went through the better business bureau just to have them respond in the same fashion. I closed the case because eating my time on this piss poor company was not worth it to me. What a clown show. New Patient. Filled out the application on-line to schedule an appointment. Provided all my insurance information. Got a call back to the next day to confirm. I advised that I just needed a prescription, not a full eye exam. Was told it would take about 30 minutes. Had to give my insurance information again. 2 days before my appointment they left a phone message advising me the appointment was scheduled with a specialist, it would take 2 hours, they would dilate my eyes and recommended I have a driver. I tried calling to clarify but it was after hours. They called me back to confirm. I asked why 2 hours for a prescription. That wasn't what I was told originally. The person I was speaking too said, oh you don't need that and we rescheduled for a different time at a different location much further away. For the third time had to provide my insurance information. Show up for my rescheduled appointment and they tell me I'm in the wrong location and my appointment is the original one. The attendant implied I was wrong. DON"T USE THIS PLACE!!! read more

I am referring to the one at Franklin. The owner threatened me with "paying lots of money to "Big Boston" lawyers for their subpar waiting period and poor staff training. I never met the doctor, wasted over two hours waiting - no food, no tea/coffee, and couldn't walk around because worrying about missing being called. And the lack of customer service with this endless waiting game under the "Chandelier" decoration (owner emphasized) Facts: 1. I arrived on time, was respectful, and checked with the front desk at 1 1-hour time point. I was still respectful and friendly, but the front desk replied, "There are many people ahead of you". I quietly went back to my seat and continued to wait. 2. Someone with no name tag nor introduced herself smelled like cigarettes, then took me in and did the same stuff my optometrist already did to me. I cleansed my face with alcohol wipes after she was done with me as I smelled something funny with the retinal scan where I put my face on. 3. At a 2-hour time, 12:00pm, the front desk staff left the desk, leaving about 6 patients, including me, and we began chatting. All told me they were waiting for the same doctor. Nobody knew what was going on. One of the patients said, "I hope the doctor doesn't eat his lunch." another said, "I may have to wait all day", throwing his hands up in the air. I sat briefly, got hungry, and decided to leave. 4. Angry at not being informed of the situation, wasting so much time, and accomplishing nothing, I called to tell them they should never make people wait like this. There was no apology or remediation. 5. I posted a previous review, and the owner left me a voice message, "...if you do not remove the review before Friday at 5 pm, ..... we will sue you...we already have a Boston attorney who charges a lot of money...." 6. I reviewed many others who complained of the same issue, yet I was the only one who got a voicemail like this. I am a human being, not a robot. To isolate the facts without the feelings of humiliation, injustice, and meanness attached to these events is simply inhumane. There was never one word of apology or explanation of the situation, except threatening to sue and being accused of attacking their business. I have not even met the doctor. Terrible patient service. They may be good as physicians, but they have no consideration for the patients nor the patients' time. Was told to plan for a 3-hour appointment when I called. I thought that may be because I was new to the practice (even though they had bought out my old doctor's practice when he retired), but, no, that was the wait time for everyone there. Arrived on time, saw the technician within 10 minutes, and then sat there for over 2.5 hours before getting my 5 minutes with the ophthalmologist. Exact same thing for my wife on her first two visits after Dr. Hatch retired (see had been seeing him there for years). See the tech effectively immediately, then sit and wait for well over 2 hours to see Dr. Kaldawy. Clearly a stunning lack of management and planning ability from the staff. Also clear that they have no plans to change, as this has been going on for at least 2 years per my wife's experience. The final kicker? After my wife got tired having to wait and changed to a new practice, they charged her $30 to fax her records over to the new office. There's lots of places out there. Find somewhere other than here. EDIT IN RESPONSE TO THE OFFICE'S REPLY BELOW FOLLOWS: With respect to the "Records are available for free if you use the portal", that's all fine and good if one assumes that the staff bothers to tell patients about that option. If their first response to the request is to ask for a credit card, what's available on your portal is irrelevant. With respect to it taking 2 hours if you're seeing an opthalmologist instead of an optometrist, that's self-serving nonsense. I have been seeing only opthalmologists for over 30 years, starting with Dr. Hatch back in 1990s. With the exclusion of this office, I have never (stress NEVER) had an appointment run in excess of 1.25 hours regardless of dilation, additional testing, or any other reason. Again, with the exclusion of this office, I have never (again, stress NEVER) had to sit in a waiting room for over an hour and 45 minutes after seeing the technician before seeing the MD. If this had happend one time, I could accept it as a one-off problem. The fact that it happened once to me and twice to my wife, coupled with the staff telling you to prepare for a 3 hour (NOT 2 hour) appointment indicates that it is a normal practice in the office. I commented above about management and planning ability. I should also note the business owner thinking that the staff is saying "2 hours" rather than "3 hours" isn't likely to improve that opinion. read more

Both of my daughters have been going here for years. I've always felt the wait time is unacceptable. Since our very first visit we've had to wait a good hour or more. The practice has continued to grow and I feel it's gotten slightly better but it's always hit or miss. Definitely consider you will be there far longer than you should be. Also, most recently, I received a bill from my insurance company for a routine eye exam. I have relied on the practice to schedule future appointments for my daughters knowing what is covered and what is not. I was actually there recently for my youngest daughter and the office told me it had been less than a year since her last appointment so they let me reschedule it for a new date. Apparently my insurance covers every 2 years. Not every year. So after taking my older daughter to a recent appointment that the office scheduled for us last year, I got hit with $460 bill. After calls with my insurance company who thought they'd miscoded the visit, the billing office told me we'd reached benefit maximum so it wasn't covered. A call back to my insurance and she explained preventative vision care is every 2 years. I realize that it's my responsibility to know every detail about my insurance, but I thought these offices could see that when they scheduled visits for patients. My dentist office and pediatrician both seem to know what's going on with our health insurance. But not Mildford Frankin Eye Center. Lesson learned. But I'm done. I'm on the search for a practice. read more

Milford Franklin Eye is a great place for eye care. Their staff is professional, the doctors are kind, and the practice is very clean.

My fiancé and I had waited in the waiting room for 2 hours for an eye appointment which is completely ridiculous. There is no reason I can see waiting that long of a time to see an ophthalmologist. The intake girl was also standoffish and rude, which I did not appreciate. Did not seem knowledgeable for her answers to questions were very vague. Would not recommend. read more

The practice was recommended to me by the urgent care clinic in Franklin. My first visit lasted 4 hours, primarily consisting of waiting for less than 5 minutes with the doctor. The second, was similar although took only 3 hours to wait. I was double charged for the co-pay and they refused to recognize that I paid on the day of the appointment. When I requested records to be transferred to my new doctor, they charged me but never transferred the records! I found this practice very unprofessional. read more

When looking for an ophthalmologist, I checked the reviews. Milford Franklin Eye Center did not get great reviews. A common complaint was the lengthy waiting time. But it was fairly close to home, so I decided to give it a try. My first visit had a longer than normal wait time, but I saw the doctor after about an hour. Today I went back for a follow-up. After a 2-1/2 hour wait, I saw the doctor for less than ten minutes. That did it. I won't be going back. read more

The wait time is absolutely horrible! They have the audacity to ask for you to be there 15 minutes early when in reality they won't even take you for about 35 minutes after that. I ordered contacts almost 3 weeks ago and they would not track my order u till after 7-10 days. I called them after it being 12 days and they do NOT answer their phones. They are always saying they're busy and to leave a message after the beep. There is no way that every time I call they're that busy. How do you not have enough people to answer the phones. I called them on a Friday and they never called me back so now I have to wait till after the weekend. It's Monday now and I had to leave a voicemail AGAIN! This is absolutely ridiculous. I used to always order my contacts from target and they would come in less than a week. Now they don't make the brand I use anymore so I had to order from this place! Tell me why I've been waiting for 3 weeks. My contacts are only supposed to be worn for 2 weeks and now I've been wearing them for 6 weeks now! Also they could not figure out my insurance and sent me home and later called me the same day telling me that they figured it out. Waste of my time! read more

Seeing one of the top surgeons in the country when it comes to my eyes is absolutely worth the wait. I don't think other people realize how in demand a good surgeon and doctor is. Everyone wants to be seen and we are lucky they can accommodate us and see us all. My eyes are extremely important to me since seeing is something no one wants to go without, if not for these doctors seeing me for an emergency visit last minute squeezing me in I could have lost my eyesight. Before you book an appointment, know that the wait is a minimum of 2 hours. The waiting room isn't kid-friendly and it's BYOC (Bring your own chair) because there's nowhere near enough seating for the sheer number of people that they book at once. So pop a camp chair in your trunk before you head out, you'll thank me later. Speaking of cramming WAY too many people into a waiting room at once, the temperature will skyrocket from a large number of bodies crammed into a small space. Count on that and dress in layers. I don't care if it's January. Hope that nobody had tacos before arriving or things will go downhill fast. While I was there, I decided to take a casual poll of the 115 other people that were there with me. I forgot my copy of War and Peace, so I didn't have much else to do. It would appear that they book several people with the same appointment times. That seems like a major scheduling flaw to me given that there's only one doctor. Once you've served what the staff deems to be a suitable amount of time in the holding tank, you're ushered through a set of glass doors to the great beyond. With the number of patients and the copays and the fanfare that goes into even getting into the place, you'd expect state-of-the-art technology, right? Heck no. Old school. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but that's what it is. The techs are no friendlier than the front desk staff, but once you make it through that wonder, you'll finally get to see the doctor for 10.5 seconds. Less if you've only had an eye exam. He seems nice enough, so I really wish he'd switch to a practice with better scheduling techniques. One other thing to note, they dilate your eyes with little to no warning. Bring your own sunglasses and be prepared to chill in your car for a bit or to head over to the Dunkin Donuts next door until you're good enough to drive home... or to the bar for a drink, since that experience should definitely be followed up with fine top-shelf liquor. read more

The waiting room at waiting room at Dr. Kaldawy's waiting room seems extremely safe to me. It is a large room and many of the seats have been blocked off so people are quite far away from each other. I was nervous before coming about sitting in waiting room but I have no anxiety now. I wouldn't hesitate to come to an appointment if you need one, everything is very clean, sanitized and the seats are very distant from each other. read more

Just like the Franklin office, the staff here is incredibly rude. Twice in the last two years we had to return after our appointment because my daughter was given the wrong prescription. After 10 years or so of bringing both of my children there I decided to take them to my eye doctor. I asked for their files and was given a hard time from the office. I had my doctor's office deal with them and then the Milford Franklin Doctors Office called to tell me that it would be $25/child for the records. After all this time, they did that on my way out. I asked to speak to the doctor (that option was given to me because "he sets the rules") and I still have not heard back. It's obvious they don't care. They're ridiculous! After my daughters appointment was rescheduled due to an error on the offices part we finally had our appointment. I was immediately asked if got the referral from the PCP which I had. I was told they didn't have it and my daughter wouldn't be seen. I was then told to step outside and call the PCP for the referral number. I called and got the referral number and gave it to the alleged office referral processor who argued with me stating the number starts with an R and the number I gave her wasn't a referral number. She then handed me a clip board of paperwork to fill out while she tried calling the PCP herself. I overheard her belittling me on the phone to the PCP's office. After I called her out on her unprofessional behavior my daughter was finally seen. The optometrist apologized saying he heard what happened and he disliked insurance too, it had nothing to do with insurance it had everything to do with the approach of the office staff who were extremely rude and unprofessional. read more

The most horrible billing error - on their part- exposed me to a debt collector. That terrible person threatened me and insisted that I pay $600 that I did not owe. I saw Dr. Kaldawy out of the Milford office on 8/2/18. The appointment was not off to a great start with the technician who brought me in to check eye pressure and dilate my pupils berated me for not being able to come up with minute details regarding my eye care history. I would have been happy to sign a release for past providers had she asked but she didn't. She preferred to go back and forth with me over who had the bigger attitude. She was extremely unprofessional. Then for the 3 hour wait to see Dr. Kaldawy. He was literally the rudest doctor I have ever seen. I felt very uncomfortable. He cut me off when I attempted to ask questions and instead scribbled my diagnosis on a piece of paper and told me just to "google it." He gave me one piece of medical advice and I asked a follow up question to double check because I had gotten opposite advice from a previous doctor I trusted. In response he got very haughty and nastily told me "then go see that other doctor if he knows so much!". I was absolutely appalled by this visit from start to finish. read more
