I was explicitly told beforehand that the service would be free to me ( covered by insurance) yet as I was leaving, I was suddenly charged $40. The only explanation I received was that the person at the desk was 'new.' While I understand staff training takes time, patients should not be hit with surprise fees because of internal mistakes. I've been to Dr. Morill's office a few times now and have always been impressed with the service I've received. The front end staff are knowledgeable and friendly. It's so easy to make my appointments online and the times have always been honored and I've never had to wait. Dr. Rice is the best eye doctor I've been to. She's knowledgeable, thorough, kind, friendly, and overall is a dream to work with. She takes the time to go over my questions and explain exactly what is happening during the exam. I have been seeing Dr. Pfeffer for 15+ years. He is kind, patient, knowledgeable, and always on time with appointments; I have never had to wait more than a few minutes. I really trust his professional opinion. If your prescription changes only slightly, he will advise you it's not worth the cost of new glasses/contacts. He also referred my son to a specialist when he knew his eye issues were more complex than just poor vision. The women in the optical shop are always helpful and honest (in a nice way) in their opinions about styles of glasses. I can't recommend this office highly enough. read more

I have been in a few times. Dr Morrill is a genuinely nice person and very competent. He takes the time to check you out thoroughly and listes carefully to everything you have to say. I did purchase glasses there once and everything was great. I also appreciated that in my most recent visit he pointed out that while there was a small change in my prescription, it was not worth getting new glasses. I was so disappointed with the outcome of my situation. I am left with an inaccurate eye exam, and $600 glasses that I cannot wear . I was trying to stay with a local business, but this was the second time I got glasses with the wrong prescription. Their solution was to get used to the lens. I work two jobs to support myself, and it was not convenient for me to keep going back to complain. The last time I was there, I was told my 90 days was up, I would have to pay for a new eye exam, and then pay for the new lens. I now have to wait another 2 years for my insurance to kick in for eyewear. This was a terrible experience I will never give them my business again. read more

I saw Dr. Pfeiffer at this practice to get a new prescription for glasses. I only wear a prescription in my left eye. I told him I had just had a thorough eye exam with my ophthalmologist, and just needed a prescription. However he insisted he needed to do an eye exam before he gave me a prescription. I allowed him to do the exam. I told him I was having laser surgery on my right eye to clear up some cloudiness my ophthalmologist found in my right, post-cataract surgery eye. Dr. Pfeiffer said it would be better to wait to get a new prescription until after my laser surgery. I agreed, even though the prescription was for my left eye only. He said he would not charge me for the refractory exam when I came in post-op. (He did not charge me for this first exam, since he did not give me a prescription.) After my laser surgery, I called to make an appointment and explained Dr. Pfeiffer said he would examine me for a new prescription after my surgery. The woman on the phone said, "So, this is for a post-op?" I told her no, it was just for a new prescription. I made an appointment. When I arrived at the office, I called from the parking lot, (as per COVID instructions), and the woman who answered the phone said, "Oh, you're here for your post-op." I explained the whole thing, that I was just here for a new prescription, and went in. Dr. Pfeiffer was in the exam room, and asked how my laser surgery went. I told him it went well, and that I was there to get my new prescription. He started to do an eye exam, and I re-iterated that I was just there for a prescription. He insisted, saying he had to examine my eyes before he wrote a prescription because I had surgery. When he finished, he said, "Okay," and got up to leave. I said, "What about my prescription?" He said. "I gave you one." I said that he didn't, tried to refresh his memory about my last visit, and how I told the appointment maker, the woman on the phone when I arrived at his office, and him when I came in for this visit. He said he thought I was here for a post-op. I left in a huff. A few days later he called to apologize for the "misunderstanding," that they have a new person at the desk, and that it was a mix-up. I told him I didn't think I could have made it any clearer than I did when I explained to the 3 people I talked to, including him, that I needed a new prescription, not an eye exam. Today, his office called me asking for the date of my laser surgery. I asked them why they needed it, and they said my insurance, (Medicare), denied the claim they sent in because they did not have the surgery date. I told the person on the phone that I did not think they were going to charge me anything for that visit because they did not provide the service I wanted, i.e., a refractory exam for a new prescription. After her attempts to convince me that the claim was legitimate, I told her I was going to call my insurance company, and tell them they did not perform the service I asked for, and the claim should not be paid. When I called Medicare, they told me the claim was for a LASER SURGERY procedure. I told them the whole story, and assured them that Dr. Pfeiffer did not do my laser surgery. The Medicare agent said the claim was fully denied, and that I would not be responsible for any charges. So, not only was Dr. Pfeiffer incompetent at listening to his patient, and providing the requested service, he attempted to defraud Medicare. read more

My entire family and myself had visited and purchased contacts and glasses for many years from this office, doctors and staff had been very nice to us. But some of our recent visits made us think perhaps its time to go somewhere else. There were subtle pressure to agree to additional testings. I normally pay a small additional fee for my contact exam. My last visit was over 100 dollars with my insurance, with additional exam which they strongly recommended. I felt staff got to be a bit aggressive about wanting to book you in for more visits, more tests. One month before Rx expires for contacts, they were pretty reluctant to order more contacts. Time is tough for most people, we want to stretch our dollars as much as possible, Yes it is a law to have your contact exam every year, but this Rx has not changed for past 5 years...... It's hard to explain difference between being kind and helpful to aggressive and being negative it's one of those things you know it when it happens to you. Is it me or anyone else noticed that, it used to be impossible to get an appointment but now, it's very easy and the waiting room does not seem so full these days..... Oh, by the way they gave me coupons for contact solutions. After a close inspection, they all expired a year ago.... LOL Also they really disregard some of those department store/warehouse club eye exam places and doctors. Don't they also have medical degrees? And there are not that many glass frame manufactures, I am pretty sure they buy lenses and frames from some of the same manufactures. read more

If there were six stars I would give them all six. The Morrill's and their staff could not be more accommodating, friendly and professional. I wear contacts and glasses (but not at the same time ha ha) and they do a fantastic job making sure I can always see and look just right! Not worth going to, NOT professional!! went had my eyes checked all fine. went into find or at least try some glasses. The women Susan, (I think that was her name) fitted me for the glasses and told me how much they were, like$7oo, said I wanted to see what my insurance covered and think about it. Wanted to check out the reviews on line for the frames etc. when I called to ask for the style number they told me they didn't write it down. HELLO? So what were you going to do if I wanted to order them from you, have me come back and hope I remembered what I picked out, what kind of crap is this?? If they were worried about loosing a sale for glasses they should now be worried about loosing a customer. Come on, really, you didn't write down the style number but you marked up the glasses and where the line for reading and distance would be. read more
