If I could give this place zero stars I would. Now, the doctor was very nice and understanding and took the time to get my prescription right. What made me upset was that for almost $600 I was given the floor sample frames with new lenses. They were flimsy pieces of junk and within a week BOTH earpieces had snapped off. No, the screws don't come loose, the actual earpieces snapped off the frame. Gee, I wonder why, maybe because HUNDREDS of people had been trying them on until someone with Masshealth came in and you knew you could shove them off on them. I saved my script and ordered online at zeelool and I'll never look back. I was able to get three pairs of strong, sturdy, fashionable frames for less than $100. Much better than the highway robbery that occurred at this doctor's office. Shame on you for taking advantage of a disabled person. read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. Typically had a decent experience here, having gone for over 5 years. Went to the Milton office for an annual appointment and was told because I had dry skin I need eye drops making it a "medical visit" that costs hundreds instead of what should've been free as I do not have any eye issues and my surrounding skin is just dry from the winter. Already frustrated, I call my mom to explain the situation to which the office eavesdrops and then starts yelling at me about my private conversation saying that they disagree with me in telling my mom it seemed like a scam to have me pay. The EXTREMELY RUSE doctor then comes out and also scolds me for saying the prescription is unnecessary which was VERY unprofessional and put me in an unncomfortable situation. I then get a comment not apologizing for the incident but saying well you shouldn't have been on your phone in the first place. Already pissed off and not ready to come back, I get a note in the mail kicking me out of their practice. No company should treat a customer like that! Save your money and frustration by going somewhere else. I don't know how they could ever hire desk staff let alone a doctor so rude, unprofessional, and unwilling to hear my POV. At first, I only ordered new lenses because I thought the frame was still good. A couple weeks later, the frame broke down (who knows why it broke?). I came to order a new frame - same branch Silhouette -. I picked a frame but did not know and people at the store did not tell me that they would use that store display frame instead of ordering a new one for me. The "new" frame has multiple cut signs on both temple tips. After talking back and forth, the tech was OK to replace a new frame for me. In the meantime I could wear those eyeglasses, "but you'd better make no damage to the frame or we won't replace it!" (Did I do any damage yet?). When the "new frame" arrived, I came and gave them the eyeglasses. And after working with it, the tech showed a "new" frame (because the temple tips were straight). Until I came home I knew that they were just replacing the plastic part of temple tips because they don't have the frame sizes on them like others. But I was too tired to go back to that store. A week later, both of the new temple tips got loose. The white metal showed up on both sides. I had to come to the store and they said they would order new temple tips for me. I came back to the store after they called me to say that the new tips arrived. Turns out they did not order and that I misunderstood them. Then why did you not fix it last time? The people there said that the new temple tips were replaced for the first time (like I guessed) and there was nothing wrong with the new ones. They said they could glue that on (Then why did you not fix it last time?) and that's all they would do for me or I have to pay for new temple tips. I paid for a new frame and now end up with a defective one even though they said it's a 1 year warranty.   Another thing is when I ordered the new frame they charged me full price "because you didn't order both lenses and frame at the same time". After checking my insurance account, I figured out that they billed my insurance for both lense and frame when I first ordered the lense. I had to come back and talk to them about that. They explained how they had to bill insurance like that, blah blah. and finally gave me a refund but of course I had to come back to their store again. When I came for a refund, instead of refund they charged me that same amount. I had to come back to get back all of the money. How many trips did I make for my new glasses? I can't count. They look very nice when you come for service, purchase but when you come for a problem you're not welcome! They were not happy when my son's eyeglasses had problems. And even when I came back for the refund. This is my 2nd pairs with them and it will be the last. The store is right in my town but I won't go back again. I have been going to different optometrists for over 40 years. This was by far the best experience I have ever had. The staff was extremely courteous and demonstrated care and vigilance when administering the Covid 19 guidelines. The doctor (Makenzie Elliott) was professional and knowledgeable, and spent more time with me than any other optometrist I have ever attended. She was patient and understanding with me as she fitted me with contacts that she got perfect. The equipment was state of the art, and I could not be happier with this experience! read more

Have been a long time client with no issues until 6 mo the ago. The got a new notifying system to let you know your glasses are ready. You better call and confirm before you drive there! Twice, as in two different pairs of glasses, I drove to Milford to pickup and was told they were not actually here, they were in foxboro. Very frustrating!!! I have been a patient of this optical practice for over 10 years. My last exam with them was in early 2019, and having just experienced a new eye doctor, I am so glad I did not return to this practice for my eye care. First, I would like to say positively, that Mike, their technician is the best thing to happen to the practice, as he truly cares about the patients, and takes all the necessary time to help you find glasses, make sure your comfortable with contact lenses and thoroughly explains billing. - This practice overbooks themselves, and you will spend longer time waiting than you will actually seeing the doctor. I always arrived early, and would often times waiting 20-30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time before seeing the now retired doctor. Due to the overbooked lobby, I often felt the Doctor was "Churning and Burning" through patients, not giving necessary attention and care. - Having just experienced a new optical practice in Boston, I can firmly say that Elliot Eye Doctor's will overcharge you to the fullest extent. My new primary care eye doctor fitted me for contacts, performed fundus photography and did retinal imagining all as part of my basic exam, free of charge, covered by my vision benefit. Dr Elliot would have charged me individually for each one of these procedures, and it would've been at a very high cost for each. - Cost of contacts. I just ordered contacts from 1-800-Contacts, and after my vision benefit was applied, it cost me $75 out of pocket. My out of pocket cost at Elliot was hundreds of dollars. I should note that my vision benefit and brand of contacts did not change over the course of this time, so looking back at what I paid last year, I know I was price-gouged. They would give me a "Friends and Family Discount" when I would be shocked at the high prices; thinking back, this was another indicator they were gouging their prices, as medical services shouldn't come with Familial discounts like that. - Lastly, the tall blonde 'Karen" who manages the office was always extremely rude and I always disliked interacting with her. I know living in the suburbs means your optical care options may be limited, but I highly recommend you look elsewhere before using this overpriced boutique/ chop shop. read more

Great experience overall! Dr. Elliot and the staff were very friendly. I worked primarily with Mike Sumner and one other technician. (Name Pending...) The staff there is very knowledgeable. They also pointed out why my older frames weren't the best fit for my face and educated me to the sizing and numbers located on the frame. I've worn glasses now for 20 years, and I've never experienced such top notch service, expedience, and more useful facts surrounding the process. This was more like buying a used car than going to the Doctor. They never explained my presciption once or what was going on with my eyes, they did try to upsell me a lot though. Eventually they talked me into something I did not really want insisting it would make my vision much better. But it turns out I can't even read the computer screen with them on. They told me to keep wearing them until "my eyes get used to them". Well I gave up trying to wear my reading glasses when I could not read with them on! I was looking to try out a new optometrist and this was the closest location that accepted my insurance. When I booked my appointment, I inquired what my out of pocket expense would be as the receptionist indicated it could be expensive for me to get a contact fitting. I told her I thought my insurance covered most of it, but I would like to know prior to coming in. Her response was that they were busy seeing patients. This was fine I told her but asked if she could get back to me in the near future. She agreed to do the research and call me back. This was a Tuesday. I heard nothing from her and called back late Friday and left a message inquiring if any progress had been made. Still heard nothing by the following Tuesday so I cancelled the appointment and went back to my old provider. If you cant provide reasonable customer service to a potential new client, I would be hesitant to see what your service would be once I was just another existing customer. No thank you. read more
