Pros:
Has a Warehouse, supermarket, fruit & veg, pharmacy, and two banks. You can get all your weekly shopping and errands done at once.
Cons:
The whole place has a 'get your weekly shopping and errands done' feel to it. Unless you're looking for overpriced women's fashion, shoes or 'designer homeware' there's no other reason to set foot in the place.
'Foodcourt' consist of previously mentions banks/fruit & veg and a very lonely looking sushi place. Your only other dining options are the numerous (5?) cliched Chinese cafes offering cabinet food and small/medium/large coffees.
Revolving door tenants. They come, they go, hoardings go up, hoardings come down, exciting new store!, closing down sale... I'm sure it happens at other malls as well but in a mall this size it's really noticeable and it doesn't take much to make the whole place look like it's going out of business. Maybe that's why they're so desperate to get those apartments built on top...?
I don't like malls in general, but at least at a Westfield or somewhere you can easily spend a few hours browsing a variety of different stores (even if they're the same ones as every other mall) and get some cheap eats from the foodcourt. Milford has nothing and thought of the Warehouse one day moving out should keep NZRPG executives awake at night with terror. read more
