I had an amazing time staying here for the weekend. We rented the roost and we're so happy because we were able to have the mini cows, Clifford, Honey and Maple, in our yard for overnight stays. We also had the baby lambs and were even able to feed them their bottles. I can't forget about Sourdough the goat. She is super adorable. The room was comfortable. It had a kitchen, living room, and two bedrooms with a total of four beds. I loved the bed. The mattress was soft and super comfortable. The kitchen had the essentials. They do provide beach towels. We did have to ask for more towels for the shower. They do also have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There is a hairdryer in the room. The ranch is big with a lot of animals to see. The animals are well taken care of by the friendly staff members. The petting zoo is a great place to take your family into. The animals are all friendly and get along well. They have activities you can partake in for a fee, but if you spend more than two nights in the rooms some are included. The beach area was very nice. It was clean and the water was perfect. They have plenty to keep your kids entertained in the beach area. The pool was nice as well. It had a hot tub. You could rent a golf cart, but the ranch is pretty walkable. They do sell food during the day and you can order a three course meal for dinner. The three course meal can be eaten in your room or at Flo. You can take your own bottle of wine to Flo if you want to eat your meal there. We did the dinner and got the steak, the salmon and the eggplant Parmesan. The salmon was a hit. I will say that I think the meal was pre- package or pre prepared because it wasn't as fresh coming out. They do have a spa, but be aware that it can book up pretty quick. We were not able to get a reservation for massages. They do send you a link to set up your extras prior to your visit, so if you are looking forward to something, get ahead of time. They sell their own honey and you can buy a dozen eggs for five dollars. We received a welcome gift of honey and sourdough bread. We ate the first day we were there and it was delicious. They also have complementary snacks and drinks in the check-in area for guest. They did have a food truck area where they sell items such a as chicken tenders, fries, and ice cream. We were told there was 160 people on the property yet it felt peaceful and private the whole time we were there. I was truly in heaven,. I would not hesitate to return. This place is a dream. Who knew something so beautiful was so close to home? The property is gorgeous, peaceful, and very well organized. We stayed in the newest addition and the rooms were exquisite. The only downside was the construction that was going on during our stay, which took away a bit from the relaxation. There is a restaurant on site, which is convenient, although not the most affordable option. The property is only about 20 minutes from Brenham, so going into town for other dining options was easy. The vibe is cute but the price is not. The food is inconsistent and overly expensive. I got a charcuterie board for 2 for $40. It was the size of my hand and didn't come with any cheese.. The animals are great but the workers lack a lot of knowledge once you start asking questions. The food is advertised as farm to table. I ask an employee what about the food was farm to table and she said "I think maybe the chicken eggs". That it. Just the eggs. And she wasn't even sure if they use those eggs in the kitchen. The room was small but you spend majority of the day outside so it wasn't too bad. They were out of pizza and beer during our stay. The food too forever to make. I still can't get over the fact they charged $40 for that charcuterie board. The cinnamon dulce latte is really good. Basically to do a lot of the things they advertise, you have to pay extra for. Wanna go on a kayak? $15 wanna use the golf stimulator? $50 interested in petting a cow from inside rather than outside of the gate? $55 ice? $5 etc etc. The blonde at the restaurant was nice but definitely needed more help. She forgot many of the things we asked for and was slammed. I'm also a bit confused because I ordered the "homemade ice cream" then asked one of the waitresses if they actually make their ice cream here and it hesitated to answer. Like she didn't want to lie and say yes because likely they don't and it's false advertising just like the "farm to table". An employee told us that one of the cows is pregnant but her calf died. She said they call it a mummy calf. It was kinda sad to hear her talk so causally and rude about it especially having experienced the loss of my own baby during birth. She also celebrated when everyone was done with the "mini cow cuddles" because she didn't want to deal with anymore people. I thought that was a bit unprofessional. The lady near the water activities was super nice. I think it was only her first day and she was very helpful and kind. Overall, the food is not great which is a shame because so many people had great reviews about it. The service needs a lot of work. And the animals are precious. If we come back or if you're interested in visiting this is what I recommend: Bring your own food!!!! Bring your own alcohol and beverages Don't expect great service Enjoy the animals Only do the cow cuddles if you just want a photo with the cow close up. Otherwise you can easily pet them through the fence. The farm is a lot smaller than it looks on the map which I preferred because it made walking around a lot easier. They ran out of golf carts for us so we had to walk everywhere with our son in his stroller. You're able to see all the animals very easily and interact with them. Our favorites were the emus and the goats. I was also very hesitant about this place after reading the reviews that weren't great and reading the responses from the owner. They're a bit rude. I wouldn't consider this place a hotel or a resort... it's more like an above average room and you're camping. There's activities around you and an expensive restaurant with bad service and food onsite. If the place was 30% cheaper it would've received a 4 or 5 star rating but it's not. There's no room service and you're asked to take out your own trash at the end of your stay. I think for a larger group that brings their own food and drinks, this is a cool experience. read more

My husband and I came with the dogs for a getaway and early celebration for his birthday. The staff was very friendly and the accommodations were wonderful. We didn't eat on site, but we went grocery shopping and made our own food. We did use the spa, my husband got a massage and I a facial, which was wonderful. Milk & Honey Ranch was definitely worth the scenic 76 mile drive from Houston. This faith based family style ranch was a breath of fresh air the moment you entered the beautiful well thought out areas on the property. The welcome from Kamika at the check in area was just we needed to want to return for a weekend stay. She explained where to go for the 30 minute cow cuddling experience and shared we could briefly view the grounds after. Passing the exotic turkeys walking not caged was worth a few photo op moments as we entered the area for cow cuddles at the stable. Their staff explained what to do and not do to make sure your animal experience was better. We cuddled with minature cows Charlie and Penny.We held some new soft chickies .The cutest moment was when baby goat Ziggy kept jumping in my lap after being put down. This is not your ordinary staycation working farm.Care was put in with their extra details to make sure their guests have an amazing experience you can tell with golf carts to use on property, a nice workout gym and tennis courts in front of their pool. After a trip to buy homemade honey at their Cafe, we returned home ,relaxed and ready to return for a future overnight stay. Definitely worth a look!! read more

Absolutely incredible! My wife and I spent a quick one night stay and cannot wait to go back for multiple days. The owner Brent greeted us personally when we got there and I had the pleasure of getting to have multiple conversations with him throughout our stay. Brent is such a genuine and humble person which made the visit so much more worth it. Jacey was amazing too! She got us checked in and situated and so nice and considerate throughout our stay. We had multiple questions and she answered everything we needed and was an absolute pleasure! Everyone of the staff was extremely friendly and personable. My wife and I enjoyed the walking trails in the early morning and the provided K-Cup coffee in our room while viewing the lake. We got to pet the animals and cuddle with the highland cows. The gal who was directing the cow cuddles was knowledgeable about the cows and their background and didn't hesitate to take photos for everyone on their phones. Milk & Honey Ranch is a dream! There are so many fun things to do for little kids and teenagers all while getting to enjoy the quiet day around the ranch. And they have so many animals to watch and feed. And so many of them get to free range which means you get many close up moments with turkeys, peacocks, chickens, and whatever else is walking around. The staff is so helpful and kind yall! Truly. They work hard and have great attitudes while doing it. They are even expanding the ranch further by adding more rooms. Have you heard about this secret gem, Milk & Honey? I was blown away from this experience and 2 days here is definitely not enough. This place was so huge that each casita has a golf cart reserved to it. I decided to walk everywhere because -- hey -- I gotta maintain this Cali beach bod I'm goin for -- but I digress. They have a lake you can swim in, paddle boards, jet skiing, water slide, lots of animals including hyland cows, wallaby's, sheep, quack quacks, cockadoodle doos, and donkeys. Second night I was there, I enjoyed snores by the fireside. Third day I spent my time bathing in the sun, and I partook in skeet shooting and jet skiing. I can't wait to go back. read more

My husband and I went to the Milk and Honey Ranch for our 40th wedding anniversary. It was the perfect place to get away from the stress of everyday life. Our room (Bungalow 4) was decorated beautifully and the perfect size for the two of us. It can sleep 4 as it has a sofa bed. The animals were the highlight of our stay. The Cuddle with the Highland Cows is a must. Their customer service is OUTSTANDING. Their service went above and beyond. From the first interaction making reservations to our last hugs and goodbye, every single person who worked there made it feel like we were their only guests. Thank you Milk and Honey Ranch for your hospitality! We were without power due to the storm and were taken back by all the love that went into making this ranch a place of respite. The drive to the ranch began to melt away my worries and burdens of the storms and all it brought with it. The drive from Montgomery was stunning. Take the back roads and see green meadows of grass and trees as far as you can see. We rented the XL Casita on the lake, and it was perfect. The sectional couch offers a sweet place to snuggle with my little and watch her shows on the large screen TV. The living room made a great space for the baby to crawl around. Spacious kitchen with a full-size fridge, stove, microwave, sink and dishwasher. The dining table with 6 chairs made a great space for meals with the family. No washer or dryer in the casitas. I love to porch sit and this porch has 4 chairs and a porch swing overlooking the lake. The sunsets here. WOW! You can rent paddleboards for $15 an hour, kayaks and canoes are available by the hour. Bring your family here or even a couple's getaway would be great. If I were on a getaway with just my husband, I would stay at The Cottage or The Treehouse. The cottage is tucked away more than most and The Treehouse is all by itself in the woods with a private hot tub. I don't think The Treehouse has a kitchen. The cabin is also secluded. The Lodge is a great space with 3 bedrooms. It sits above a large garage, so the ability to climb stairs is needed. The resort style pool is a great place to hang out on warm days. They have a gym onsite and bike trails (e bikes option). The animals, oh they animals. Rent a golf cart when you book your room and cruise around the 50+ acres visiting the friendliest neighbors. The goats, donkeys, goats, cows, giant pigs, peacocks, turkeys, chickens, ponies were some of our favorite neighbors. Hands down the ranch dogs were the best welcoming committee. The sweet Great Pyrenees pups roam freely all over the property and love porch visits. One even hitched a ride on our golf cart. They are so sweet and gentle. Water, sodas, sparkling water, Gatorade and snacks are available at no additional cost in the snack room. The snack room is next to the pool which makes it easy to access. The food here! They offer breakfast and dinner; lunch is not available. You are 14 minutes from Brenham so either bring groceries or go to town for lunch. This is a farm to table family style experience so expect to pay for that fresh, yummy goodness. We had ribeye, baked potato and green beans. WHOA! What a great meal. Many of the guests here brought their own groceries and grilled in the outdoor kitchens. We had breakfast delivered to our casita. Fresh baked sourdough bread, eggs, bacon and a giant bowl of fruit...oh and I ordered a cold latte. YUM and what a treat! A small onsite restaurant looks to be near completion in the next couple of months. The sunsets here are beautiful. My favorite spot was on the deck of the lake as the sunset and God showed off with the cotton candy colored sky over the beautiful landscape of this ranch. This place was a sweet retreat for my weary mind and heart after the storm. God often uses the wilderness to speak to me. I needed to just sit with Him under the big open sky. This would be a wonderful place to host a wedding. They do rent the entire ranch for weddings and retreats. We will be back for sure, but maybe early fall or late spring to enjoy the outdoors a little more. I booked in such a hurry I didn't have time to read all the things. I arrived early with my mom for her birthday. The owner Mr. Brent greeted me right away while working in the new cafe. He showed me inside and gave me a short backstory. It was a pleasant and blessed conversation that I needed. The day and night spent was nothing less than relaxing and breathtaking. The unit was beautiful and tidy. My mom enjoyed herself. The people were all so friendly. I didn't know what to expect honestly, but it's truly an Oasis and family driven. It's quaint and a creative establishment. I will be booking another stay. My family and I just spent Resurrection Day (Easter) 2024 at the Milk & Honey Ranch and it was AMAZING! Honestly, the trip was my wife's idea and I really didn't have any expectations. Actually I did have some expectations, but they we're solely based on my ignorance of what was actually available. Reflecting back on it now, they blew any an all of my expectations out of the water. It was very unique in how they have everything set up as far as checking in and out. My wife was in constant communication with Monica during our stay, so any questions she had were quickly answered. I'm not going to go through all of the activities that they have available, you can read a brochure for that. What I'd like to do is commend Hugo, Monica, and the rest of the staff on their high level of professionalism. They made my family and I feel so at home and were very attentive. We were able to spend time getting to know them and their beautiful family. All of our kids had the best time together and by the time we left, we really felt like family. The culture that has been cultivated here is amazing and everyone should allow themselves to be blessed by this experience. We did a lot of the things, fed all of the animals, walked the trails, played with the dogs. Oh yeah, we brought out little shitzu/poodle mix with us and we didn't realize that there are 3 just like him there! Some of the other guests didn't even realize that he was ours until we told them. Some of our favorite moments were having our morning coffee on the porch swing listening to the roosters and peacocks greeting the day. And after the day was done, having a night cap sitting around the fire chatting with Hugo and Monica while watching our kiddos play. We came at the right time because the weather was cool in the morning and slightly warm midday and cool again in the evenings. It was so peaceful and relaxing. I think the loudest thing we heard there were our kids screaming and laughing and having a great time at the beach club. Speaking of the beach club, we failed to put sun block on the kids before letting them loose and made a big vacation mistake, we got sunburned on the first day, and forgot to bring aloe! Wal-Mart and H-E-B is only 15 minutes away so we were able to enjoy the beautiful scenery and get the things we needed and hurry back. All that said, we're excited to go visit again. We're hoping that some of our other family will join us next time, they deserve it. This place is a blessing! I debated on whether or not to leave this review because I felt that the host Brent pressured me to take down my 4/5 star review on the airbnb website. He messaged me privately saying he felt the review was unfair- when in fact it was just my honest opinion (that I'm entitled to). I should not have complied but here we are. Cons: 1st "beach club" - the images on the internet make the water look crystal blue- it is not. It is dark, murky and green. Perhaps it's because it is the same water you can swim, paddle board, etc. in. This is the same water you can fish and jet ski in as well. There is no moving water into that manmade "beach", something I didn't realize until I got there. I also wasn't aware of how tiny it really was in person and how if someone rented out the jet ski- we could not be in the water. (That information was barely disclosed to me the night before-after we had already paid) Not only does the jet ski pollute the water but the fish in the water were big and NOT nice. They bit my sister and bit my husband. As a mother- there is multiple reasons why I think this "beach" is not safe. I did not let my children in the water after that. 2nd "golf carts"- great bonus for sure. Everyone is supposed to get one so they advertise but none are assigned to anyone. It was annoying honestly, the ranch was large and to take a golf cart to one area to just have someone else take it and drive off was beyond inconvenient especially with small children. 3rd "resort pool"- was honestly filthy with debris during our stay. Pros: The ranch is beautiful. The living areas were well kept and super clean. The co host was super responsive prior and during our stay. Their hand crafted coffee was one of the best coffees I've ever had. Overall, I will not be staying again and I hope the establishment does NOT reach out to me about taking down my review this time because I will not. It speaks volumes about someone's character to do something like that. Every place of business cannot make everyone happy. You must take the bad with the good. read more

I hosted a corporate retreat at Milk & Honey in January. What a perfect place for this! The event venue has a huge 100" TV screen, a lounge area, and sound system. The food is farm-to-table, delicious. The snack bar is open all day. The animals wandering around are fun to see: peacocks, turkeys, guineas, and penned longhorns, pigs, goats, and chickens. Milk & Honey Ranch deserves more than 5-stars! From the moment I entered through the gates onto the property, I felt a sense of transformation, a much needed escape, and a reprieve from the ordinary. This is the kind of resort you leave feeling totally rejuvenated and feeling like a totally new version of yourself. The grounds give a sense of meditative ambiance that is like medicine for the mind and soul. I felt the stress melt away as I enjoyed nature mixed with all the plush comforts of a top resort. There's no shortage of on-site activities. Plenty of space to kick back and relax or enjoy the adventure of the e-bike track, or go fishing! There's even an on-demand candy room! Plus a luxurious pool, making me feel like I was at a world renown resort. Enjoy a game of tennis or pickle ball, jump on the trampoline, relax on the hammock, roast marshmallows over an open fire, meet the animals, take the miniature horses for a walk (loved it), pet the piglets. Had a great workout in the fully equipped gym. Be sure to take a tour of the ranch and learn about bee keeping, hydroponic growing (fascinating), and lots more. The owners, Brent and Danielle go above and beyond to elevate the idea of a vacation and make it a dream vacation. Had the best steak I have ever had! And the sunsets are amazing!! Comfortable beds, beautiful decor and everything I needed. I did a lot and yet, there was so much more to do, so I look forward to returning with more of my family. We had a terrible experience there. They definitely do a good job of selling this place online. The accommodations are super cute! The food was TERRIBLE. The "lake" is a very small POND where I don't feel it's safe it jet ski or even swim. It's died dirty water. The pool was green with algae and had floating debris. Our kids eyes burned from the chemicals immediately so they got out. They say it's pet friendly but the owners large white dogs charged us and our sweet timid doodle. I was screaming at the top of my lungs and they kept charging. My husband heard me ran over to stop them,thank God. If our dog was any other dog that would have barked or growled it would have ended very badly. If the price was 1/3 and they just sold it as glamping with a farm & pond vibe it would have been fine. We left early and didn't stay another night. RESPONSE TO OWNER COMMENT. WE DID NOT HAVE EXTRA PEOPLE. Our 2 kids already ate so we only preordered the steak dinner for our my husband and I for his birthday. The 2 "ribeyes" were sliced into one portion and freezer burned or something tasted awful and way over cooked. They were dry and chewy! We had our two sides come out way before the steak instead of all together. Your worker came over heard and witnessed your aggressive dogs and agreed they were and have been. A better response from the owner when we told another employee about it would have been to at least check on us, maybe an apology for the life being scared out of us and our children. And better yet to assure the SAFETY of your guest. We have a salt water pool and it doesn't look like that! That has nothing to do with algae growing in it and the debris! You shouldn't react this way as an owner! read more

From right when you turn into the property, you will fall in love w/ this ranch! It is so beautiful & peaceful. There are signs showing you where to go to get settled in. You will be greeted by the sweetest people & possibly Bailey(the ranch dog). Make sure to enjoy some of the activities, as well. The farm tour was so fun! I also wish I could take all the animals home, haha! I 10/10 recommend coming to experience this place! read more

An oasis. It feels like you are a million miles away, yet close to everything. The host is so helpful and friendly. The grounds are perfectly kept and I loved seeing all the animals. And the pool, tennis/basketball court, and gym were amazing. This is the perfect place for a family holiday or a celebration or a retreat. I could spend at least a month here! read more
