This is the second year we've come here in May to pick blueberries and blackberries. One of the workers said that blueberry season is really a short 4-6 weeks time frame while blackberries are most of the summer. This year 2025, the blueberries are sweet but on the smaller side. The blackberries were not as good as some of them are tart or even sour as some seem to start fermenting? However in 2023 the blackberries were soooo sweet and juicy that even my husband liked them and he usually doesn't like blackberries. Maybe this year just wasn't good for blackberries. :/ The busket (basket bucket) is $1.50 and berries are usually $8-10 per lb but they ran a Memorial Day weekend promo for $4 a lb. We filled up our busket about 2/3 of the way for 2.7 lbs or $11 in blackberries and blueberries! Cheaper than Costco! Although it is a 45 min drive for us. Giant sunflowers were available too but all the wildflowers were picked already. Things to bring: Busket - if you already have one! Sunscreen - protect your skin! Hat - it's sunny! Water and a refill of water - it's HOT and you easily drink through 2 water bottles, plus if you use any to clean your pickings. neck towel / fan - nice to have I would also consider looking for a parking spot in the shade, usually to the left by the Farm Funland. I also put up our cars sunshade which helps too. This time, my 4 yo said her car seat wasn't that hot (whereas she will usually complain if it is), so i think jt worked! We only spent about 1.5 hours though from 1030-12noon, as it was getting really hot and the kiddo was over it. This was fun! I came here for a field trip with my friend and her daughter. The farm is HUGE! There was so much to do, we had each child pick what they wanted to do. There were some super cute photo opportunities! There were pumpkins everywhere. The staff was super friendly and there was plenty of parking. The kids had a blast, I would definitely come back. We visited this pumpkin patch on a Saturday and honestly left pretty disappointed. We arrived around 2:00 PM, thinking two hours would be plenty of time before they closed at 4:00. The drive was about an hour for us from Houston, and even with traffic, we were excited to finally get there and spend a fun afternoon with our kids. For the first hour, the kids had fun at the front attractions -- the slides, bounce trampoline, and sand area -- but when we finally made our way toward the back for the hayride and wagon ride, everything was already closed by 3:15 PM. The camel area was also shut down, and the flower picking area was closed too. It was frustrating to see so many areas shut down 45 minutes before closing time, especially on a Saturday when families plan their whole day around coming here. We weren't the only ones upset -- several other families were disappointed too. We spent over $100 just for the kids to play on a few small attractions. That didn't even include the pumpkins, which were extra. As parents who both work weekends, we made arrangements and left work early to make this trip, but it ended up being more of a waste of time and money than a fun fall outing. If you plan on visiting, I'd recommend getting there right when they open -- otherwise, you might find most of the good stuff already closed. What a cute place to be!! We had an absolute fantastic time! It is free to park, you can bring your own cooler and snacks. There are also some food trucks on-site. My favorite part about the farm are the chickens who roam freely around the property and seeing the kids chase them down! There are plenty of things to do. Inflatables, slides, educational shows, petting area, picnic tables, etc. I thought the price to get in was a bit much but after seeing how much the kids had to do, I quickly changed my mind. I saw a lot of parents buying fruit trees to have in their own yards and they also have a blackberry tree on-site that my son just couldn't stay away from. This was such a great experience. My kids and I went and picked blackberries this morning. We paid $15 for a basket and filled it up in no time. I loved how big they were! We are a little late in the season for when we usually go and our normal farm isn't growing this year, so I felt like Blessington was a nice surprise. My kids also enjoyed seeing the chickens free roaming, the goat pen, cute dogs, and lots of fun activities. It's summer, so we couldn't stay long, but they loved it. We will definitely be back again! We came here for blueberry/blackberry picking and loved it! You pay for a bucket ($1.50, can use again next time) and then pay by weight. I highly recommend checking their Instagram before you go as they tell you the status of their berries. The blueberries and blackberries were fat and delicious. If you're combining both in one bucket, try to separate them to the sides since the blueberries can squash the blackberries (the latter is more fragile). FYI: You can bring a stroller/wagon to the berry picking area but not necessarily along the rows. The blueberry rows were too narrow. The blackberry rows would have allowed it but it was just easier to leave the stroller and have our toddler walk around and help pick the berries. The sunflower picking area (just past the berries) was lovely as well and a great spot for photo opportunities. A little bit of a drive from where we are but our toddler had so much fun here. He loved the access to all of the animals and the dromedaries they had. The tractor ride was bumpy but fun and really dusty. Make sure you know that your children gonna be filthy at the end of their time here. I've been seeing advertisements for the sunflower festival at Blessington Farms. Someone suggested I take my kids out there to visit. The drive was 45mins, which is long enough when you have two kids under the age of three. I mainly came here for drone footage (I need to practice flying). I do recommend visit this farm early during the summer months. When we arrived there was plenty of parking available. I expected more people to be here for the sunflower festival. I flew my drone over the farm really fast and noticed the flower fields, and Berry trees that were covered with bird nets I believe. Admission was $19. We walked over the the flower fields. I wish I had wore longer pants because the grad is tall in certain areas of the field. My biggest fear is finding a tick on my skin. The flowers were $1 a stem. Near the flower fields you will find vendors selling other products like local honey, candles and more. The staff is super nice here. Free water bottles are provided to help with the heat. There are areas to take photos in the fields. Before my toddler had a complete meltdown, I put her on the swing and took some really great photos of her. My experience was short lived due to both of my children's screaming halfway through our visit. I do look forward to coming back here again. The shaded play area is very large and looks fun. Unfortunately, it was too hot outside when we arrived for us to do it. read more

We went to visit Blessington Farms today for Teacher Appreciation Weekend. We had an absolute blast! Our son loved all the animals and activities. It is very well-organized and clean. There's so much to do, and almost everything is included in the ticket price which is really nice. The entry fee is affordable and worth every penny. I was in dire need of T-shirt! Luckily Blessington farm gift shop has several to choose from. Houston weather went from a chilly morning to a blazing afternoon. My son had a blast at tug a war station, bird feeding, and the tailor trains. I'll have to say bird feeding was our favorite. Had to click one star. I give it a minus zero . This place is a joke. Don't come here 30 minutes before closing they will turn you AWAY. The man on the drive around cart asked me and my baby boy "are you coming or going?" I said coming. He said we close in 30 minutes. I said well we have 10 minutes ...He LAUGHED AT ME. And drove off. Drove to the check in desk and talked to the people manning it as I was packing my little one into the stroller and getting his things ready to walk over he could have TOLD ME they aren't going to let you in. Blessington Farms has been on my must-visit list ever since I heard about the strawberry picking, but I never got around to it. I was hyped to visit in October and have some wholesome fall fun during COVID, but I was shocked when I reached by how packed the farm was. Given that it was opening day, I did expect a few more people but the website seemed to suggest they would be limiting entry to allow for social distancing. Unfortunately, this was not the case. They did not enforce mask-wearing among the staff or visitors - I would gauge about 1 in every 5 families was wearing masks. The flower-picking was one of the most distanced activities available, and I enjoyed myself there. You pay an extra $3 to pick as many flowers as can fit in a cup, and they provide hand sanitizer and scissors. This was also a good area for picture-taking. The pumpkin patches were more crowded, but we were able to spend a little time there taking pictures before more people arrived. I didn't visit any other areas besides the flower-picking and pumpkin patch, but I believe they also have food, activities for kids, and an aviary. I think this would be a good place to visit once COVID is over, but I definitely felt stressed by the number of people upon my visit. read more

We drove close to an hour to visit the farm, and it was well worth it! I brought my 2 and 6 year old kids and we stayed close to 5 hours and the only reason we left was because they were closing. If it hadn't closed I know I could have easily stayed a few more hours. There are numerous animals to pet including camels, chickens, goats, sheep. You can also feed the birds for an additional cost. My 8 year-old daughter spent a few hours at Blessington Farms and said she liked it more than our week at Disney World... I almost died thinking of how much money we could have saved. Blessington Farms is simple and wonderful and all around joyful. We just went to pick out a couple pumpkins ($.50/lb) for Halloween, but were happily surprised to find a playland full of attractions: giant hill slides, trike racing, barrel train rides, and even animal petting/feeding. They also have tons of areas set up to take family photos, so get ready to bust out those embarrassing matching family uniforms! There's so much to do we couldn't experience it all in one go, but all of us had a blast. Good info for newbies: - admission was $20 for each of us on a Saturday, but it's best to call ahead to (1) make sure they're open and (2) learn about admission cost, what events are going on, or what seasonal fruits are available for picking - Camel and bird feeding tickets cost $3 each. If you know it's something you want to do, just pay at the front, otherwise they can also hook you up in the general store. - The general store only has water. If you're hungry / thirsty, they should have a couple food trucks onsite. They were also selling ice cream at the Gem Mining station. - If you're looking for a medium to large pumpkin, they have carts and wheel barrows you can borrow at the front. - Show with at least 3 hours to spare. Came here on a Saturday and wasn't pleased to see how they did not enforce mask wearing when it was so packed that social distancing would have been impossible. Also, their website said "Children under 24 months are free. Active Military, Veterans and First responders (with ID) are free of charge." As a physician, I showed my badge and asked if healthcare workers are considered first responders. However, the employees were perplexed by my question and did not realize their site made this offer. Additionally, they said "Nurses don't count. We had a special weekend when nurses have free admission." I did not bother to point out my badge clearly says "Physician". Given all these barriers, I decided to thank them and go elsewhere. read more

The place itself was really nice! However the customer service was AWFUL!! My friend and I went on a double date and just wanted to take some pictures at their pumpkin patch- we were given attitude by the police and the lady who we purchased wristbands from. They laughed that we were there to take pictures (as if that's not what all the families there were doing). The cop followed us around and began the process of kicking us out five minutes before they closed (again, many families around us doing the same thing yet we were targeted for some reason). Aside from that- the poor petting zoo animals!!! there is a sign that explicitly says "do not pick up the animals" and the first thing we saw? children picking up the animals & DROPPING THEM!! No animal keeper in sight!! My friend had to ask the children to stop dropping the animals. Those poor things, they deserve better. Other than limited food option as mentioned from other comments. The aviary feed was falsely advertised about the quaker parrot feeding from the website as I didn't see nor hear any. When I asked about the quaker parrot, the blonde female staff indifferently told me that they never had any Quaker parrot. She was also unfriendly and left my family sitting without birds coming to food we were holding for feeding (almost all birds were little parakeets). So fun for the whole family. My elementary kids love going there, but so do my teens (even though they try not to show that they're having fun lol). I could spend the whole time in the petting zoo and talking to the parrots. The kids could spend the whole time in the sand pile, riding the hill slides over and over, and jumping on the inflatables. Not to mention the magic of watching them be amazed while feeding the giraffes and their love of the barrel train rides. I guess the bottom line is that everything is fun there! This is about my experience contacting this farm about whether they are open or not. I am visiting houston for a week Friday to Friday. I called on sat to find out if we can go on Monday instead since they are closed that Sunday for an event and we are too jet lagged to go on sat. The number I called was listed on the website for Jim Slater. He picked up after a few rings so I thought he would help me. Wrong. I asked him if he would be open the rest of weekdays like Monday if we don't do over the weekend. He proceeded to tell me for the next few min that all updates are on the website each day and he cannot promise there are strawberries each day to pick or not. I can see why he can't promise but his tone was well unpleasant. I asked if he could guess and he said no and asked me to check the website. I don't understand why their website list his number to call if we had questions if all he was going to do was tell us to check the website like we are idiots to call him. Well Monday comes around, I check their website. It still says " its sat march 25th". Okay so why ask me to check the website if it's not updated daily. Then I check yelp only to find out they are closed today on Monday. Dah. Jim could have at least said that to be helpful. He wasn't interested in helping and seemed just annoyed anyone called him for any updates. We will be going to froberg farm instead. read more

We took my one year old here a couple of weeks ago for the pumpkin patch. It's $20 per adult (there were three adults with me and one child) which is kind of expensive considering there are no adult activities. That is the reason I took away one star. Other than that, it is great for children a little bit older. The staff was nice, & it's a great place to take y'all photos. Rude customer service. Website does not state last admission time. Arrived at 4.10pm and was told they were closed and that the last admission is at 4pm. Another group of my friends told me they got kicked out by 4.30pm and the staffs were being very unfriendly. Says it close at 5pm but it's more like 4pm. Blessington Farms was recommended to me by the owners during the local farmers market. We decided to finally go out to the farm to the pumpkin patch with our four year old. The farm was a lot of fun! We went on a hay ride, fun games that are interactive, petting animals and more. After all of that we were able to pick out our pumpkins which was a large variety. The best pumpkins we have seen around!! The only down side is the food options. With the exception of the snow cones, there was only one food truck, Fulshear City Grill, which tried to overcharge us by double our actual bill. When I told her that the total was to high she disagreed with me twice before I went item by item and then she quickly gave me the correct amount of change. We ordered two waters ($2), hot dog ($3) and chicken tenders and French fries ($9) for a total of $14 but she tried to collect $29. Luckily I paid attention to the prices and knew immediately that she was over charging. The way everything happened made me feel like she knew what she was doing but luckily we caught it. In addition, the food was okay but nothing exciting. I recommend bringing your own lunch or snacks until they get a new food truck. Other than the food, we highly recommend taking the family. We gave 5 stars because even adults can have fun and the food is not the farms fault. read more

Fun family activities. Houston weather finally got cooler for the time being so we took advantage of the awesome weather and went out to the farm for the pumpkin patch. We bought our tickets online prior to arriving to grab our wrist bands quickly and to enjoy the festivities. Parking was free and they had people directing us. I do recommend to wear comfortable shoes like tennis shoes or boots for the gravel and grassy areas. The farm also had some fancy portable potties at the entrance which was nice. Further in are the traditional Porta potties. Some of the fun kids and family activities were the various slides that my nephew and adults enjoyed. Then there was a sand dune for kids to dig in or play in. There was a rope climbing Web looking thing that people could climb in and try to walk in. In addition to large rolling tubes u can climb inside and run like a hamster wheel. I love that they had multiple stations of picture opportunities with pumpkins and their trucks. It wasn't too crowded but there were people already there at opening. Hay rides are available and a large air bed that you can jump around on aka jump pad. There is also a petting zoo a drive bird tent to explore. Concession stands were there to feed the hungry if you didn't bring your own picnic. Fries, hot dogs, corn dogs, snow cones, and fresh lemonade. The best thing was the funnel cakes!! This is great that they open their farm to allow families to have some good Ole family fun times. I loved it, it was great! My first time and 2 friends with kids ​also joined and they agreed, all loved it! I just wished we hadn't had to leave. We were not quite prepared.
