I was debating on writing this review because I know times are tough for many business owners right now but I did not appreciate the service I was given. I dropped off a white puffer coat, and before I left the owner and I examined the coat together for a good three minutes and she asked me what fabric it was. The coat was laid out on the counter facing up while she made me a customer profile. When I came to pick up the jacket, she told me that they had tried calling me bc they found "damage" and didn't dry clean the jacket. There was a huge straight gash on the jacket and looked like it was made w something very sharp. That gash was 10000% not there when I dropped it off. The jacket was cheap from forever 21 and it probably would have ended up costing me more to dry clean the white coat, rather than buy a new one. If the owner had been more honest I would have never gotten upset nor asked for any compensation bc the coat was not not expensive. Instead, I was looked at with guilty eyes that knew we literally looked at the coat together when I had dropped it off and a gash that big would have had the inside material all over had it been there prior. So now I'm out of a super cute cropped puffer & they lost a customer who in a week would have been bringing them weekly service. Save your time read more

The cashier was really rude to me when I asked him if he can unsow something that isn't clothing

I am really not sure why they have a bad reviews ? They are A-OK! I bring a few items here every now and then. I have brought everything from shirts to sweaters to skirts! I brought my coat here, and jacket and they do a descent job. It is a bit pricey but staff is really friendly and the place is clean! Ladies, they do not dry clean bras. I know its probably the least of many girls worries but when you spend close to 100 dollars on a bra you would think they would care for it but nope they wont take it and they'll advise you on how to wash it safely in a normal washer. Some items will cost more than others in general I'm content with the service they provide and the location being inside of the "keyfood mall" rules out any parking problems. A north face fleece will cost approx. 8 dollars to dry clean. Dresses/coats are more expensive. If anything gets damaged ie: you lost jewels that were attached to your dress, and you don't realize it until two weeks later they will fix it no questions asked! They really aim to please customers. They have a tailor on site and to be honest I am unsure of her work considering that the one time I needed something done she expressed that she only does work on the sewing machine so I am unable to comment on her job. Except that she fixed jewelry attached to a blouse that was damaged during dry cleaning and the work was amazing, so close to the original jewelry. All in all if you live in the Mill Basin area and your looking for a dry cleaner this is a reasonable place that will work with time constraints, and they are reliable. read more

I have only used Mill Basin Cleaners once for dry cleaning, but I was happy with the results. The interior is clean and looks way more modern than most of the dry cleaners in the city. They have plenty of parking, so that would never be a problem. The turn around time for dry cleaning on 2 items was 3 days, which wasn't bad. The prices were a lot more expensive than I expected based on this location in Brooklyn. However, my items came back clean and with no damage. read more

I have been using Mill Basin Cleaners for a number of years. They are by far tops in my book. They clean clothes on their premises which today is pretty rare. Most dry cleaners don't clean clothes on their premises anymore they outsource them. I have alot of clothes they are an investment for me and the reason I have them properly cleaned is they last longer and they appear like new, as if I just purchased them. Mill Basin does the very best cleaning and pressing job. When my blouses, sweaters, pants, dresses, coats, etc., are returned to me they are on hangars & wrapped in plastic, long sleeves are stuffed with tissue to keep their shape. They go above and beyond the everyday dry cleaner. The staff is very cordial and very helpful. I want to also point out that the seamstress does a wonderful job. She has altered a number of clothes for me mostly pants and they are perfectly mended. read more

My wife and I gave this dry cleaner three items. Two of my custom tailored shirts and my wife's skirt. The two shirts that they gave me both came back with rips on all of the sleeves and her skirt came back with what looked like black ink. When I brought the shirts back to them, they not only denied ripping my shirts, even though they clearly did as the rips were exactly the same size and on the exact same spots on both shirts, but they also tried to blame me for it and refused to take any responsibility. This place and their owner are just a joke. Avoid it at all costs. There is a much better dry cleaners on Veterans ave in the neighborhood. read more

This cleaner is not low waste-- they still wrap everything in plastic and they put styrofoam on their wire hangers. What is more, they have over-charged me for cleaning sweaters under the excuse that they are heavy. I'm not sure they can decipher what a heavy sweater looks like, but they sure know how to overcharge for the light ones. read more

POSTING FOR A FRIEND: please read before using this cleaners. worst cleaners I've ever been to. They were to work on altering bathing suit tops prior to a vacation. They had 3 weeks to get it done and upon picking it up I found they hadn't worked on one top. The nasty lady in the back offered no reason for not working on them. The owner said he needed more then a week and the receipt clearly showed it was there for 3 weeks. They wouldn't refund me any money. Very unprofessional, unfriendly and quite frankly had a piss poor attitude about their screw up. Also I went in there the week I dropped the bathing suits off to get fitted for a tux and they told me they don't know how to measure for a tux. Meanwhile the tape measure was around his neck. All because i wasnt purchasing it from them. I needed the measurements for an out of state wedding. Huge disappointment. read more

This has to be the most exclusive tailor in NYC because they wanted two months to tailor a jacket. One jacket. Because it was a "winter fabric". I gave it a month and a half, went to pick it up and STILL wasn't done. I've been dropping off dry cleaning every week and spending $20-30 per week for months and this was how I was treated. So I'm done and never coming back here again. The front desk people are nice and helpful but the tailor is terrible to deal with. I am taking my business down the street. The press and cleaning was decent overall, despite a number of times where things came back stained. This was taken care of at no charge. There are also some predatory practices around upcharges for tailoring. Pay attention because even a stitch apparently costs in the range of $10, even for a non visible part of a $20 tie that doesn't need it. They'll charge you anyway. Buyer beware. read more

DO NOT USE THIS DRY CLEANERS!!! They completely ruined my coat and turned it into garbage. I dropped off my down coat with them. There was nothing wrong with the coat when I dropped it off. The label that said dry clean only so I had no choice but to send it over to dry cleaning. a week went by and I came to pick up my coat. I handed the employee my pickup receipt. Once I gave it to him he returned my coat wrapped in plastic to show it was "dry cleaned" and asked for payment of $35.95. I immediately I handed him the payment. However, before leaving I decided to double check my coat. When I opened the plastic wrapping I was surprised to see the same coat I gave in a week ago was no longer the same, it was dismantled. The deep black color was faded. The buttons that decorated the belt were melted off. The real fur hood was missing 75% of its fur. I asked for a manager. The owner appeared, I showed him all of the damages as he looked me in the eyes and said there's nothing wrong with it. That was clearly not true. It was obvious they used the wrong chemicals to clean my coat with and wouldn't admit it. I stood in the store for an hour begging for a receipt as proof of payment, a refund for the cleaning, and compensation for my un- wearable coat. The owner told me I'm not getting anything back as its not his fault my coat was cheap quality, it's the manufacturers. He then proceeded to kick me out of the store stating he has other customer orders to get to before closing and I was finished there. Mill Bain cleaners does not care about it's customers they only care about getting paid for their "work" even if it's inadequate. If you have beloved items that you want cleaned this is the last place I would ever recommend going. My wife and I have used this establishment for several years now. From time to time I have picked up suits that still had dirt marks on them. After bringing it to the workers attention, these marks were removed. However, today was our last time supporting this establishment which is unfortunate because it is a local mom and pop shop which we have supported for years. My wife has brought her dresses here to get cleaned every week, easily spending between $75-$100/week. While picking up her dresses today it was brought to her attention by one of the staff that there was a "problem" with one of the dresses. The staff showed her that one of the dressed had a stain mark on it. My wife asked to speak to the owner who blamed the mark on the dress. My wife asked for compensation of the dress which was $80 but the owner insisted on only reimbursing her $40. Again, we have supported Mill Basin Cleaners for over 10 years but today was the last day. read more
