This past Sunday; was in town for a 100th birthday party picnic for an adopted grandma. For a small town, and an older park was quite impressed on how clean it was and the emmenties that were provided with each shelter. I'm not sure on if all the shelters were the same; but Shelter 4, had enough picnic benches to accomate small or large parties. The shelter itself; was amazing two working fridges, a sink, bathroom and even a counter space area. The shutter wood latch and enclosure of the actual shelter stood out the most for me. The picnic was a wonderful event; and even the area local news stoper by to hilight, Ann Curtin..Happy 100th Birthday...relaxing, celebration happy to have attended and been invited. We all need positive, uplifting, motivational stories ; especially with the current state of our world. There's a part of the playground for little kids and a part for bigger kids, as well as a sandbox to play in as well (there's woodchips over most of the ground). We also used the park bathrooms while there which were clean, though slightly smelly. We didn't use, but also saw tennis courts, a baseball field, a pool + splash pad, a basketball court, many swinging benches, and multiple pavilions. Overall a lovely park with a great play area for kids.

The park is pretty open with two covered pavilions to be rented out, multiple soccer fields, three different playground areas including Tiger Town (for smaller kids), baseball/softball fields, a paved walking loop, tennis courts, sand volleyball, and a scenic pond and boardwalk. I wanted to do some hiking that afternoon to take advantage of the crisp, sunny fall weather, and I found this site on Tripadvisor. We didn't really know much about it but when we got here we were totally fascinated! There are nearly 200 ovens, some in much better condition than others, but to explore them was so interesting. As you leave the parking lot and approach the main section of ovens, you cross a little bridge and going right, you will be walking down a long path lined on both sides with ovens with a huge ditch in the middle. If you go left, you will walk by about a dozen ovens as the path curves around and turns into a gravel trail. If you follow the trail "behind" the ovens, on your left just about 50 yards away is a beautifully paved hiking path. We went over there and hiked several miles in one direction before turning back. Part of the path we hiked seemed to get slightly near some homes, but you couldn't really see them much. The walk was so, so beautiful with the leaves falling and the water in the creek next to the path running - you couldn't have created a better fall day. We so enjoyed this stop, it was a great outdoor experience and just set a great mood for our weekend. Absolutely check this place out!

There is a water pump to provide free water for pets, a picnic type covered pavillion with picnic tables for owner comfort on the small dog side and toys to share. People are polite and usually open to conversations about their fur babies! Bring your own water bowls and water if you prefer but there is a multiuse water bowl and gallon jugs to take to the water pump and bring back water to fill the bowl. Very well maintained and comfortable place to relax and give fido a great time out!!!

Found this spot as I was driving between destinations. It's a nice spot to get out and stretch your…read morelegs after being in the car a while. There are no restrooms. It's not a "rest stop, but definitely a nice and quiet place to take a short stroll. The entire loop is maybe a mile walk. You can cut through on a shorter path back to the parking area, or continue on for the longer way around. It's mostly shaded. Few flying insects but nothing bothersome. It's just peaceful and green! Cute bird houses posted along the paths. Some spots are shaded enough to where there's moss and patches of mushrooms growing. It was like a fairy garden.
