I can see the strides this place has taken over the years to improve the golf courses. It's a fun tricky risk/reward type course with tight fairways, rewards you with good shot placement, the long game won't get you a low score here you need precision and patience as well cause the waits can be long "like any other course". Bizzaro World - Update Theory: Manager/Owner is a good guy, but getting a bad rap based on other reviews referencing his conduct AND local Belchertown golfer friends/relatives avoiding MVG Links and directing me to play elsewhere. Fact (chapter 1): No one in Pro Shop for 10 minutes following my arrival. Heard worker bee leave out other door, when I entered, so they knew there was a customer that had arrived. Female employee arrives in great spirits and chats with me for a few minutes, telling me manager should be by soon. Manager arrives and tells me how he has spent a lot of cash updating the course (since 1999) and how proud he was of the course. I agree. I like the improvements. I ask him if he is "getting the numbers/customers", he pauses and says he's not concerned with the revenue so much as this is "his passion". That means "no". I am pointed to a cart. Fact (chapter 2): I finish my round and I am feeling defeated and wiped out as the course is a very tough one with trees defining very narrow fairways. Normally I score in the 80s and on this course, using my friend's dads very old clubs I shot a 103. I'm looking just to get out of there with my tail between my legs when the manager/owner zips over to me on a golf cart. I am positioned behind my car spending a minute or two getting ready to put the golf bag in the car. I had noticed a worker on a tractor dragging a watering apparatus which was obviously watering down the dirt parking lot on the opposite end of the lot. I expected the owner to ask me how my round was, or make sure I enjoyed the experience but instead I get "you couldn't get out of his way for 2 minutes?" I looked up and noticed the worker on the tractor hadn't even been waiting. Astonished, I jokingly said "yes, it was my grand plan to block your worker from watering the parking lot immediately behind my car". He then said, "I need you to move the cart", so I left my bag behind my car and moved the cart 30 feet away. By this time, the worker had moved on. The owner was breathing fast and red in the face. Conclusion: Believe the reviews. This owner is a "piece of work". Prior to getting my money, he's "Susie Sunshine". Post "money secure", he's forgotten who I was, the nice conversation we had, and he's coming at me with teeth bared to get me to move my cart which would have been moved sooner had he not rushed over and got his "panties in a wad". You will see a lot of "no", "can't", "don't", and "you are responsible for" signs tatooed all over the course, but no signs of encouragement or care from the owner. It's a shame, he's driving customers away and only looking at them as a money maker. He surely does not treat customers with respect. Unless and until ownership changes, my money will be spent elsewhere. read more

We had a group of 8 people yesterday for our first 2022 golf outing at Mill Valley and it was wonderful! We have been coming at least 4 to 5 times a year for several years now. The course has gotten better each year! The new pro shop is coming along nicely, great staff/owner. We did not run into any wet spots, the fairways were great. A beautiful challenging golf course! Mill Valley gets 4 Stars because it was $10 for 18 holes including cart. The condition of the course is probably a 3 Star at best. However, many of the holes are memorable and worth the trip back. The greens are small and hard to hold and if you miss right or left of the fairway on your drive don't bother looking for your ball. The food is decent and you can get 6 beers on ice for $14. Great place to take your unemployed alcoholic friends. The most memorable hole is a par 4 with an elevated tee box. From 200 feet in the air it is possible to hit 400+ drives. read more

Terrible course, fires burning on the edges of the fairways, sporadic piles of dirt and rock, rain wash outs flood many holes, and not a single trash can on the property because the owner is afraid of outside drinks including iced coffee. Save your money and go to Cold Spring, much nicer course for a good price! read more

Golfed here three times in the past two weeks. The greens and tee boxes were some of the best I've seen all year. Any hesitation I had was put to ease after speaking with the owner. He has spent a boat load bringing this place to where it is today. I definitely see his vision unfolding on the course. Don't let his passion for this endeavor to be misinterpreted. Follow the rules like an adult and there will never be a problem. I will be taking advantage of the fact that their club membership is only $445 for the rest of 2017 and all of 2018!! Literally half the cost of every other 18 hole course in MA. It's also more then half the cost of the 9 hole I'm a member of now. I don't know how he affords doing all those improvements but keep up the good work!! read more

I wish I could give this rating less than 1 star... A few weeks ago, my father and I played a round of 18 holes - course was in good shape and we loved the challenging layout. Unfortunately the service ruined our experience. After playing 9 holes, we went into the clubhouse to grab a couple quick beers, but there was nobody there (oh well, we'll grab some after 18). We finished up our rounds and went in to get a few beverages and some food, sat down at a table and waited... and waited... and waited. After about 10-15 minutes we finally got up and left disappointed. My father sent an email to the owner telling him about our unfortunate experience. The owner "invited us" back to play another round. Well.... you guessed it "invited back" obviously means pay full price. So we went back yesterday on the 4th of July to play 18 (as we were invited back to play personally from the owner). We paid for our cart $30 for the both of us and thought the greens fees were waived. While on the 5th hole, the owner races across the fairway over to us and proceeds to barrage us with derogatory comments about how we stole those rounds and how we tried to rip him off. He then kicked us off the golf course, refused to reimburse the cart fee (which we paid for 18 holes, and only golfed 4), and told us to never come back. So needless to say... this golf course is a complete embarrassment to the game of golf and the owner is without question one of the most pompous and rude people we have ever dealt with. Don't worry Mill Valley Golf Links - you will never see another dime from us again. read more

Absolutely terrible service coming from a first time customer. started downpouring Before even finishing 8 of 18 holes. Spoke to the owner and asked for a rain check for the back 9. He stated "sorry we don't do that Here". I was shocked he didnt help his customer AT ALL... I didn't want a refund or anything like that. He could have even just offered some sort of coupon or even a free cart for next time I mean come on!! We just wanted to finish what we paid for, not in the pouring rain. When I spoke to the owner I really was more or less taken back at how he didn't care about a potential weekly customer. Never again will I be giving them any business.... read more

It's cheap - #1 thing going for the course. Fairways are horrible, greens inconsistent, and no course time management exists - however - only $69 for foursome with carts on Groupon. Great to practice your shots, but forget about counting this as a real round of golf. read more

1) Love the layout.........2) Course conditions need a lot of work. Greens very inconsistent. 6th hole is embarrassing---a four foot putt and before you know it, the second putt is a forty footer back up the hill.......3) Get off the primary cut off rough and kiss your ball good-bye. Thought I was back in the jungles of the Philippines........4) Carts small and cart paths were non-existent.........5) Owner ( Kurty) was a real jewel. He should make a rule that says he should not be allowed to speak with the playing public----keep this donkey away from people.........As much as I enjoyed the layout, we won't be going back-----not if we're $10 or free. read more
