If I could leave less than one star, I would. The golf course is already below average, but my friends and I were having a nice time. That was until we were on the 8th hole's tee box and heard someone talking on the phone. It was very impolite given that we were on a golf course and went against etiquette. After asking this person to stop talking on the phone multiple times, we decided to play through because it was obvious that they didn't care about anyone else. Then, this person drove directly to us on the green of the eighth hole. It happened to be the owner. He eventually kicked us off the course after berating us. I even tried to be polite with him and get through the conflict, but he quite literally said "don't sir me" in an effort to get me to not call him sir. All in all, it was a ridiculously bad experience at a shitty course with a surprisingly even shittier owner. read more

Excellent course that's well maintained. The owner and staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make your experience the best it could be. The food is also exceptional. Very fair prices and great quality. We grabbed a pizza and some apps, they were all delicious. Can't wait to get back there to play a round and grab some food. Addendum- After writing this I read some of the other reviews and was shocked. They were so far from the mark iwas shocked. I have to say, Williamsburg is a small town and it does seem as though the small town drama has unfortunately prompted people to strike out against a perfectly wonderful business. Comfortable play. Ended up a beautiful sunny day but course was in process of repair and boggy. A bit wet after the heavy rains. Trees don't tend to get trimmed so be prepared for it. read more

Carrie the server, ultimate failure. No eye contact,been nice to acknowledge the human side of your server,maybe a smile or hi. "what u want witn attitude Is not the way greet a customer. Quickly realized she was not a people person or possibly Carrie's unhappy with her job. Decided best order to go ..while seated at bar. Food is excellent server at bar..not good. She did not put sauces in Togo bag. No napkins. Wrong sauce or none at all. Uncomfortable to have to ask server for the right order. The food is great. The kitchen staff always gets the food just right. The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive. As for the owner... who appears the be the subject of all of the bad reviews... he's always been very kind to me. If you've read most of these "reviews", I would just ignore them. I may not agree with the owners politics at all, but I wouldn't go write fake reviews that could have an impact on a small business that employs lots of people, especially during Covid when so many are jobless. The reviews that say the owner is racist, sexist, etc don't seem to have any stories or anything backing up these claims. Instead it appears they disagree with his politics and decide to label him with these labels as an attempt to hurt his business, which is just wrong. Don't use your personal feelings when it comes to politics to guide you're reviews. How about leaving an honest review about the business and take up personal political differences elsewhere. Again... sure your reviews may hurt his business. But hurting his business means your hurting the paychecks of his staff. Your attempts to smear the place for things that have nothing to do with the service, golf course or food is about as low as you can go when you take into account that business pays people's bills. Is you disagreeing with his politics really worth causing small town folks to not be able to pay their bills? Is making someone homeless, without a car, without insurance or unable to provide for their families really worth taking up a political grudge on a place like Yelp? read more

HORRIBLE ANGRY MAN is the new owner!! He spiked my tire and screamed in my face to the point I had to get in my car ... close windows and wave him away. I mistakenly did not know golf course was closed. He had the OPEN flag waving, parking lot was open and welcoming... several phone calls were made ...no response...no answering machine message indicating course was closed due to COVID. I had traveled from CT .... I played 6 holes... NEW ANGRY PROBLEM OWNER demanded $50 (cost for 2 players with cart for 9). I am a 65 year old woman.... Police arrived and calmed him down...
