HEAR MY STORY. I…read moreworked at LCTF from September of 2017 to April of 2018; not a long time but it was all I could take and here is why. The business doesn't care for safety at all: we were using chainsaws, rarely without any ear or eye protection (unless we brought our own), and certainly without any proper training. And the same goes for the Bobcat skid steer, and John Deere tractor that would certainly fail any regulation test. I spent nearly 2 weeks in the winter hand washing the owners home windows, often times suspended 25+ feet in the air with no harness or any safety equipment what so ever. Some of my fellow coworkers were often on top of certain structures without equipment as well. They're highly illegal; During the season for landscaping and for the Christmas trees, employees are often work 50-60+ hours a week without any overtime pay. I, personally, had a two week period where I clocked in 120.5 hours (with no overtime pay). Their pay stubs are partially handwritten with the lower portion of the pay stub stating "no state or federal taxes withheld" which I didn't pay much attention to until the taxes season came around in which my tax return went from me receiving $1000+ from a previous job, to then owing the government money due to the company not doing the taxes. I cannot recall filling out a W-4 nor an 1-9 upon hiring. Their work is just plain awful; Go see for yourself, their "nursery" is completely unorganized and overrun by weeds and unwanted plants. And with the money that the company makes going into the owners own wallets rather than the employees and the business, their landscaping is beyond elementary and the Christmas trees are poorly kept and trimmed. In all, I am a fan of having a tree farm around for the fun of the Christmas season, but this place needs to be sold to someone who cares more about the company, workers, and customers, or the business should be shutdown. If you are considering applying for work, which is common for high school and college kids, please, for your sake, find somewhere else. (I posted this on google as well but I need to post it anywhere I can to prevent any injury to upcoming workers and customers. Please, share this.)

The tree hunting was fun as well as the tractor ride over to them and, while the experience of finding your own tree and sawing it down would probably be the same anywhere, it was certainly great here even when it started snowing on us in the middle of it which just added to the feeling of Christmas really being here. Loads of trees of varying sizes, all nicely grown and full - just keep in mind they only have one type from what I saw, no fir or pine varieties either, just I believe Spruce which is totally fine and very popular for xmas trees (plus they're a lot cheaper than fir). Sadly this is the type of tree that doesn't "smell" like Christmas - or much of anything, but if that's not an issue for you (or you're fine putting scent things around the house instead) then have no worries, their selection is fantastic! Good prices, great service, lovely trees to pick from, and the experience - beyond just finding/sawing a tree down - was so much better thanks to the small details like a fire-pit outside in the snow with smores packets and delicious hot apple cider (or hot cocoa) inside which I've never had until then and it tasted just like an apple pie! Could not be happier with the experience here or the interactions we had with the people here, we will absolutely be returning come next Christmas for another beautiful tree and nice memories.

A great place to shop local! We bought many unique gift items from the various consignments. Owner…read moreof shop was pleasant and helpful. Lovely decorations for the holidays. Wood fire going and complimentary hot cider and cocoa made our weekday shopping outing very pleasant. Prices were fair. We were not there for real Christmas trees, wreaths, porch pots or greenery but it seemed like a fine location to go if in the market for those items. Gift shop open seasonally-I think it was April until December.
