Best decision we made... We decided to enroll both our young kids in his class. Mike has helped them learn more than just karate. Mike and his instructors have been able to instill listening skills and following directions in my kids. His class has also helped them boost their confidence. The first few classes there is a learning curve for new students, but I can honestly say that it has helped both my kids tremendously. I highly recommend his Dojo. I chose this place because I got a great deal on Groupon. They tell you that the uniform is free but when you go for the initial meeting the girl at the front desk tells my son "go ahead pick out any T-shirt you want and take it" I thought that was so nice. Until I was leaving and she says " ok so now you have to pay for the T-shirt"...very sneaky! My son was so excited to go to karate and it took him so long to work up the courage to go. But they threw him into a class with kids that were already trained and kept reprimanding him for not knowing what he was doing. The young guy with the ponytail is so arrogant and the owner is so cocky and just loves hearing himself talk. They were not interested in helping my child at all. He was so discouraged and didn't want to go back. Also, way too many kids in a class! Like utter chaos on the floor, with everybody doing all different things! Not a good learning environment for a beginner!! read more

Signed up my very young son and truly regret it. The teacher threw him into the class and then repeatedly called him out during the class. Unfortunately, he was calling him by the wrong name. Besides Karate, Millennium Martial Arts offers kickboxing classes. I recently signed-up to lose weight because I hit a plateau at my regular gym. I noticed a difference within three weeks. You can attend as many classes a week as you like. The instructors are top notch. They make the class enjoyable which encourages you to keep coming back. This is THE place for your child to begin karate. The instructors here have made MMA not a business but a welcoming family for each child and their families. While challenging "typically developing" students they also have experience in dealing with and compassion for children with special needs (my son has over responsive sensory issues) and allowing them reasonable accommodations while holding them accountable for no less then what they are capable of, which will surprise you! In addition, the children (and parents!) learn self control, respect, self worth and a host of other skills that go above and beyond anything I have seen in any organized sport my kids have been involved in. I can't say enough wonderful things about this fantastic martial arts facility! The instructors are incredible martial artists and since every person learns at a different pace, the structure of the classes is very important! If one student needs longer to grasp a maneuver, the whole class is not held behind. If another student is exceptionally progressive, they are encouraged to push beyond their current level. I currently have two teenagers in the program and they have excelled, not only in martial arts, but in education, responsibility, self-confidence, and respect. Martial arts is not just practiced moves, it's more of a lifestyle and "whole person" mentality. It's mind, body and soul, as well as speed, power, and focus! My children have grown by leaps and bounds since being enrolled in their program and it truly feels like a family. I highly recommended Millennium Martial Arts for any child or adult who is interested in karate, my son has been a student since kindergarten, he is now in 5th grade and not only is he learning fine martial arts but he has also learned how to focus better, have discipline and respect for others. Millennium Martial Arts is great Dojo to start or continue your martial arts education. After High School, I had studied Chinese Kenpo for a few years; along the Ed Parker/Joe Lewis lines. It was a good experience, it was mostly kickboxing, but lacking some of the detailed techniques of traditional Martial Arts. While taking a Karate Gym class in college, I was introduced to Okinawan style Karate from Teryuki Higa. The roots of 'Karate' started in Okinawa. It was a blend of Chinese boxing & the indigenous Tode or Okinawa Te, that was eventually brought to Japan & somewhat militarized. That's the first time I saw some of the techniques that I thought were incumbent to traditional Martial Arts. I had left Karate for many years, when I went looking for a Dojo for my young son. After checking out Millennium MA, I decided to rededicate myself to Karate as well, I'm so happy I did. The Dojo is a great place to relieve stress, build fitness & develop technique. Already in my 40's, I was a little bit apprehensive, but the staff there are great to work with, and I look forward to many years of training with Kyoshi Anthony and the dedicated teachers and friends at Millennium Martial Arts!! read more

My son has been involved in the younger kids program, Little Dragons, for over a year. My son has made such physical strides since he has many PT needs. The instructors make it challenging and enjoyable for all the kids. Since June, I have been a part of the iKickboxing program. In just a few months, I have never been in better shape and feel amazing mentally and physically. The instructors are very personable, hands on, and always find a way to challenge and motivate me. The people I have been working out with are phenomenal and have become a great group of friends. Even my wife has joined the program and in just a few weeks she has been very pleased with the results. The owner Mike is a an intelligent man with a kind heart. You will not find a more dedicated individual and he treats everyone like family. He even does special nights such as movie nights and Halloween parties for the students to give his parents a few hours to go out while the kids are entertained.
