I decided to pay cash since they charge a 3% credit card fee and out of pocket is several hundred dollars. The first thing I noticed when I walked up is how small their waiting area is, there were 11 seats and only one was open. I figured that meant a long wait time. I was pleasantly surprised when I was called in 15 minutes later. I changed into the hospital gown and shortly after they came to get me for the MRI. I was in and out in less than an hour. The facility as a whole was clean and the personnel were all nice.

However was quoted $400+ after insurance anyway so when I rescheduled I asked what it would cost to just self-pay. I've been in pain for two months and couldn't wait. Now self-paying for an MRI and after the person scheduling me on the phone asked me for my insurance 3 times and I reminded her 3 times I was self-paying, she quoted me 3 times the cost of the MRI at $265. Show up for my appointment and was charged $390. Receptionist has no idea where the quoted number came from.. naturally . Avoid at all costs. Seems like a scam that self pay would cost less than what they quoted me with insurance.. then show up and it's the same price as with insurance ??

My wife recently received the news that she has a mole that is positive for malignant melanoma…read more She saw a very good doctor at the building next to this one who said a PET scan was important so she could see if the cancer had spread to anywhere else. She said to try to get one ASAP. The imaging center phone support was great, the lady did everything she could to get my wife an appointment. And she ended up getting her in today, which is a Saturday when most of the offices there are closed. The lady who took my wife back to the PET scan room was great and very reassuring. She had to give my wife an injection of a low dose radioactive tracer that the scan will look for, it can accumulate where there is a lot of cellular activity. The test took about 90 minutes, 45 just waiting for the tracer to circulate her body and then 45 for the scan. We should know more in a week when the doctor sees the scan results, this is no fun to go through but MH imagine made it as effortless as possible. Thank you.

I had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with Memorial Hermann The Woodlands…read moreMedical Center Outpatient Imaging. After going through the proper channels, obtaining insurance preauthorization and scheduling my calcium score CT, I arrived for my appointment expecting a straightforward process. Instead, I was turned away at the time of service due to an "order code issue." What makes this situation unacceptable is that both my insurance provider and Memorial Hermann had already approved the test. At no point prior to my appointment did anyone contact me to notify me of a problem with the order code. This represents a clear breakdown in communication and coordination between departments. As a patient, I took time out of my day, traveled to the facility, and prepared for the test, only to be told upon arrival that it could not be completed. This not only wasted my time but also caused an unnecessary delay in my care. Diagnostic testing like this is time-sensitive, and failures like this directly impact patient outcomes and continuity of care. It is deeply concerning that an organization of this size allows patients to fall through the cracks in such a preventable way. If there was an issue with the order code, it should have been identified and resolved well before my appointment, or at the very least, I should have been notified in advance. Patients should not bear the burden of internal system failures. This experience reflects poorly on operational efficiency, patient communication, and overall quality of care. I expected far better coordination and professionalism.
