EDIT: August 27, 2026: After I posted this review, an attorney representing Millennium Santa Monica sent me a cease-and-desist letter alleging that I had made false statements. The letter did not identify any specific statement it contends is false. I asked its counsel to identify the exact language at issue and the factual basis for claiming it is false. The attorney has emailed me several times but will not tell me what behavior I need to cease and desist even though she sent me a cease and desist. Whether you are a tenant or not, this conduct is highly concerning. I am happy to correct what is shown to be wrong. I am prepared to defend what I wrote and have the facts evaluated through the judicial process. Original review: My experience with Millennium Santa Monica's lease-renewal process has been so disturbing that I am now considering complaints to government authorities and legal action. Here is exactly what happened. During my renewal negotiations, I repeatedly asked for a 12-month renewal with two months free. Management repeatedly told me that was not available. Among the explanations I received were that: * Two months free required me to sign an 18-month renewal * Concessions and promotions were being eliminated * Increased occupancy supported reducing or eliminating concessions * Fair Housing and consistent-treatment requirements prevented management from applying the two-month promotional structure to a shorter renewal term I did not want an 18-month lease. Based on those representations, however, I ultimately agreed to the longer term in order to receive the two-month concession. Then, within less than 15 days of signing, Millennium Santa Monica's own website was advertising up to eight weeks free on available one-bedroom apartments with 12-month lease terms. What makes this even more troubling is that management had previously offered to let me remain at my existing gross rental rate through August 17 while I continued evaluating my options. The new promotion ran through that same period. Had I simply taken the extension instead of relying on what management told me and signing the 18-month renewal, I would have been able to see the exact type of 12-month promotional structure I had repeatedly requested. I escalated this to TDC and laid out the issue in detail. I specifically asked them to explain when the eight-week promotion was conceived and approved, why I had been told two months free required an 18-month commitment, why Fair Housing and consistent treatment had been cited as reasons the same concession could not be offered on 12 months, and what supported management's statements that concessions were ending. TDC said it completed a review and denied my request to correct the lease. What I found remarkable was what its final response did not answer. It did not tell me when the later promotion was approved. It did not tell me whether the representations made to me were accurate when they were made. It did not explain the Fair Housing rationale. It did not explain what occupancy information supported the statements I received. It did not explain the apparent contradiction between telling me that two months free required an 18-month renewal and then publicly advertising eight weeks free on 12-month leases shortly afterward. Instead, TDC emphasized that I had knowingly selected and signed the 18-month lease. I have never disputed that. My complaint is about the information I was given that caused me to select that option in the first place. After this experience, I feel profoundly deceived by the renewal process. I genuinely came away feeling as though I had been defrauded into taking a longer contractual commitment than I wanted. Prospective residents can review these facts and reach their own conclusions. My recommendation is simple: if you are considering signing or renewing here, get every representation concerning pricing, concessions, promotions, and lease terms in writing, preserve everything, and independently verify what you are being told before signing. My husband and I moved here after a wildfire badly damaged our home. The location is great, the grounds are clean, and the maintenance team is responsive. The new management team is doing a great job of communicating with residents about ongoing projects. And the view from our fifth-floor unit is flat-out amazing. When our friends visit, they always want to linger in the roof-top garden, which is steps from our unit. All in all, living here has been a pleasant experience. While we're looking forward to returning the Pacific Palisades one day, we're enjoying our time at the Millennium. read more

It was an exceptionally streamlined process, and a specific shout out to Cassandra Tizon and Jayden Reyes for being so friendly and wonderful, and making the whole process effortless for me, and getting to know each other at the same time. Yesterday we arrived at the Millennium and were greeted by Lola, the leasing manager. We were looking for a first apartment for our college aged son. While the building is well kept, and the amenities plentiful, the reason we submitted an application on the spot was because of Lola. She really sold us on this place. Her love of this building and its residents was clear to all of us. She was so warm and patient, as well as extremely knowledgeable about the property. During our tour, as we walked by current tenants, Lola greeted each one of them by first name. There is no question this building is in good hands. This is hands down the best management, leasing and maintenance team I've ever dealt with. They are so kind and helpful! Lola helped me with move in paperwork on July 4th when she did not have to and continues to help me with little random requests whenever I need something. Austin has been wonderful and was the one who moved me in and gave me the initial tour of the property. Jayden is also so cool and extremely accommodating. Their maintenance team is top notch. Fil and Maurice are incredible. Whenever I put a ticket in, somebody usually comes by the next day, and it's fixed the right way. The property is lovely, and even the tenants here are all so nice and friendly. I've never lived in a community where literally every person is a gem! I love my apartment, and the amenities here are great! There's a personal training HIIT class, the pool is gorgeous, and there's several outdoor grills/patio set ups that are nice for larger gatherings. There's also tons of parking spaces in the underground garage, so I'm never struggling to find a spot! The office also puts together movie nights, pool parties, and other events that are really well organized and fun. I love living here, and I will not be leaving any time soon! :) read more

The apartment itself is quite cute and fairly priced, but what really won us over is how wonderful and helpful Victoria is. She guided us through a very detailed tour and treated us with genuine care. She was also very down to earth and feels more like a friend than a corporate employee. Our dreadful short trip of apartment hunting in LA was instantly brightened up by Victoria, and we are very grateful to have met her. Eventually we decided to go for the other choice due to its distance being much closer to my partner's school (for now, who knows what will happen), but for its short duration of the tour, Millennium will always have a special place in our hearts. read more

I lived in Millennium Santa Monica for a year and I thought I'd share my experience after moving out. PROS: - Maintenance is efficient and quick. When water leaked from my fridge or a cockroach appeared (the unit I lived in was brand new and I was the first one to live there), someone was there within 24 hours to fix this. The maintenance team has always been friendly. - Monthly socials to mingle with neighbors and staff. Free pastries or free party cocktails, it was great! - The neighbors in my building were friendly. - 24/7 security. I always felt safe at night. - The sunset view in the rooftop lounge areas. - Free coffee and hot chocolate. But as more residents moved in, the beverages ran out within several hours. Sometimes in the morning, if I spotted a cleaning lady, I asked her to refill the coffee and hot chocolate so I could enjoy them. - Free use of the lounge next to the reception, great for throwing parties. - Whenever I had problems with neighbors, rent or had questions, Victoria always made sure my concerns were addressed. I always appreciated her professionalism and her reaching out to Jon, the manager, if anything came up. If you have a concern, reach out to Victoria! CONS: - As more residents moved into Millennium, I noticed more frequent weed smoke at night or more trash lying around in the trash area on my floor. The cleaning team only works during the week so by the time it was Monday, the trash had been piling up on the floor. There's the valet trash option if you want to avoid the trash area on your floor. - The numerous monthly expenses on my utility bill: $35 for valet trash, pest control, etc. I get that's part of living in an apartment complex like Millennium. - You will never get your full security deposit back if you decide to move out. Even if you clean your unit as much as possible, Millennium will at least bill you for cleaning and touch up paint ($140-$200, maybe more depending on the condition of your unit). - Depending on the location of your unit, you may be affected by future leaks if there's pouring rain in LA (like earlier this year). In my unit, some water leaked through my front door and my ceiling. - Also depending on the location of your unit, you can hear your neighbors through the walls. On floors with rooftop lounges, there's bound to be more parties or loud noises during the summer. As cost of living has increased everywhere in LA, I couldn't justify renewing my lease even though my monthly rent would have stayed the same. If you have to live in a quiet unit, make sure you ask for units that are secluded from the clusters of units. read more

This review is for the leasing staff at Millennium Santa Moncia, in particular for Victoria! Wow, I really don't have enough good things to say about Victoria and the staff here. I walked in without an appointment late Saturday with my mom who was in town visiting me. Despite it being close to the end of business hours for the day, Victoria still took us on for a tour of all the units we were interested in. She was so patient, kind, professional, personable, and respectful! It is really hard these days with the housing shortages in La to find real estate agents who go above and beyond to help their customers. I have toured countless apartments in the last few months during my search and Victoria stood out amongst every person I've met. You can tell she is committed to her job and genuinely cares about the happiness of the community members. One thing that really made me trust her was her honesty. With each unit, she was so open about the pros and cons and it made me feel safe to sign a lease here. My office ended up delaying our move to the west side so I am postponing signing a lease here until we have our official move date in 2023. However, I am 100 percent committed to signing a lease year when the time comes. Thank you, Victoria, for your kindness during this searching process. My mom and I are forever grateful for your compassion during my very difficult apartment search. I hope more real estate agents can learn from this company and from Victoria. Being a genuine human being goes a long way! Looking forward to living here in the near future. Oh, and a few points about the actual apartment (got carried away talking about the amazing leasing office!) - apartments were very clean (building is brand new - 1 year old), very well designed layouts with ample closet space, great size kitchens, and great sunlight. They are opening a few new food spots in the residential space this upcoming spring, as well as an Orange Theory if I am not mistaken! Decent location in that you cannot come upon it accidentally. Decent amenities. Excessively long lease and lots of talk about enforcing rules of the community...not so much. Lots of sound transference. Priced high for value in my opinion. Unassigned parking which likely will get worse as retail comes in and vacancy rate goes down. Certain individuals are awesome. Others make you feel as if you are irrational for expecting management to enforce rules (did I mention the 70 page lease which details what the rules are and how they will be enforced?). From random stuff left outside units, to garbage, to noise and other activities. I will not be renewing. There are others that similarly moved in when it was relatively early that will not be renewing. It is a real shame because the design choices are good. The construction is poor (standing water on concrete walkways on upper floors multiple days after a rain and the afore mentioned sound transference among examples). Poor communication in general. Three stars for the yellow/white and other design choices and for particular staff. Otherwise would be 1 star. read more
