Outlying station occasionally defecated in. Watch your step! garbage, food, sleepers. Used to be clean. We deserve better!

I totally agree with some of the negative reviews here. I have no problem with the train/train ride itself. However when you arrive at the station, there is no accessibility up to the station. Period. So if you have any difficulty with stairs or steep long ramp, get ready for pain and try not to fall. There's the worst elevator ever at the north end of the platform which they call 205 elevator. It does not take you up to the station. Rather, it leads outside to nothing. No cab stand here, took away the buses from here. Now you're stuck. I called a cab via Curb - $17. Instead you must use the ramp or 1st set of stairs, walk though the station, more stairs, brings you to the main entrance which is where you will find a cab stand for morning travel. Just thought this might be good information before you ride. This is the MAIN station and should be better.

Always a pleasure to walk through the station as early as I do. So clean, quiet and peaceful. I especially love all of the holiday decor, it really lifts my mood. Christmas is my favorite time of year. To make my morning even more special, I get to board one of the holiday trains.

I was not here for very long this time but I like that they have many businesses around, some with seating. If you dont want to sit in the main area (where vagrants tend to sit, which is a fact of life in a big city but sorry, its best to stay distant) there's a Starbucks, a Burger King and a bar to patronize while you wait. The combination of machines and live workers is a plus. The trains and stations have wifi, so that's a plus too.

Starbucks, Subway, Burger King and sundry shops are located here.

Bottom Line: An indoor station in The Loop with good amenities. While many Metra stations are no frills, this station is a little more special. It is an indoor, below ground station in The Loop. There is a newsstand, Starbucks and several fast food places. There seemed to be plenty of security on A Sunday morning and few travelers. The station is easy to navigate and it is part of the Ped Way (the lesser known indoor pedestrian path through a plethora of buildings and corridors.)

Conveniently located down town. The station is very clean and had plenty of food and coffee options. We took the South Shore train to South Bend, IN. A one way ticked is just shy over $14. The train offers free WiFi- but mine didn't work. Overall a nice train ride.

We love arriving here, especially after a 2 hour train ride. Once we get off there's food and we're not out in the heat or cold immediately. You can wait for your train and have a coffee from Starbucks. There are restaurants, banks, even a little convenience store. The one thing I could not figure out...how do you take the pedway north?

3.5 starts This station was redone a few years ago. The remodeling process seemed to last forever but the results are well worth the wait. The station has a clean, stainless steel look to it that is quite snazzy. It almost feels like you are in a European train station. Of course, there is a Cinnabon, Subway, and Starbucks to quench your commercial appetite. My biggest gripe is the lack of monitors to show trains arriving and departing. Also, I agree with Mindy W., there needs to be more signage, especially for tourists. *Check out my pics!

The Conductor visited the car I was riding in just a couple of stops before ending at Ogilvie to check and/or sell tickets. The Conductor was polite and patient. When I exited the train at Ogilvie, I just followed the crowd to the stairway into the station and then just chose to exit the building at the Canal Street exit whit turned out to be just perfect for starting my journey into Chicago for the day. At the end of the day, when I returned to Ogilvie, it took me a few minutes to figure out the train schedule and locate the right stairways onto the loading platform. They have large screens at each loading platform stairway entrance that shows where each train travels to and what time they leave. There are stairways on each side of the train station to get you to the train. One important thing to note is that for some stops, the first cars of the train, the doors do not open. So it's best to find a seat towards the back cars or make plans to walk through a couple of cars quickly to get to the exit doors that open. The Ogilvie Transportation Center was easier to navigate than I had thought.
